My biggest issue with a lot of the women is the way they're written. They all inevitably - bar Ellen - end up being turned into a potential love interest for the brothers.
Blonde Ruby was cool because there was no physical/emotional relationship there. Ruby 2.0 wasn't because she became a love interest and ended up becoming irritating and controlling.
Bela was awesome because she was this independent saleswoman who ******** them over at every chance she got. Then in Red Sky At Night, she decides to be tell Dean she wants angry sex with him - while 'Don't objectify me' will never fail to make me laugh my a** off - it made me lose respect for her. Sam's dream about her too, completely random and pointless. But when she wasn't being treated as a potential romantic character, she was brilliant.
Jo was great in the first few episodes, then in No Exit, wanting to be Dean's girlfriend, annoying as ******** Under A Bad Sign, randomly thrown in there as the damsel in distress, pointless romantic entanglement. Annoying as ******** season five, I loved her again because she wasn't fawning all over Dean, she was being her own woman. The final kiss was fair enough, I liked that, it was sweet. I wouldn't have minded Jo and Dean ending up together in the end.
Madison, we knew right from the get go was there was a romantic entanglement, that's fine, I don't mind that. But she was also a woman with her own mind, she wasn't all "OMG, I'M A WEREWOLF, MAKE IT BETTER, MAKE IT BETTER!", she was willing to do what was needed in the end, rather than rely on Sam to find another way. Also, she was just a nice character, y'know?
Jess, well, she was the love of Sam's life and she was Adrianne Palicki. For those two reasons alone she gets a free pass.
I forgot where I was going with this.

It does get annoying when the girls are suddenly like "OMG YER HOT LETS SLEEP TOGETHER"... Because I'd think to think we girls have a little more self-respect. xD"
Madison was probably my favorite girl thus far, after Ellen, of course. I really admired her as a character, and I actually really wished that there could have been some way for her to be saved- she made Sam happy, and that counts in my books. Jo was cool, but then something happened and she wasn't... until season five, then she was awesome again. I liked Bela until she decided to be a total b***h and steal the colt. >: LAME, Bela, LAME. Blond!Ruby was kick-a**, but Brunette!Ruby was a lying whore-face. SAM, YOU DUNCE!
Ellen was just... AMAZING. //3
I sometimes think the writers just plain don't know how to write a male-female friendship. Because, I'm saying this from experience, GIRLS AND GUYS CAN BE FRIENDS WITHOUT SLEEPING TOGETHER, OR BEING ATTRACTED TO ONE ANOTHER. It's possible, SPN, I promise. ; 3;
