Well, while you can and while they're still relatively cheap.

I imagine this is going to drive prices up.

They'll have to join the CMP to get one for less than $900. And I already have my Carbine.
I don't think that it will raise the prices very much at all, especially with the high prices on the non-CMP ones. And the requirements that are there to join the CMP.

Here in Boise, we're a** deep in Garands and carbines. Carbines are easy to pick up for $500 to $600 any day of the week. Garands are about twice as much, depending on the condition.
In related WWII gun news, I hefted a mint Johnson M1941 rifle in 100% perfect shape just yesterday at a gun store. Pity is, the guy wants $5,000 for it. evil

s**t dude, CMP if offering "shooters" for like $500 for garands, and you can get off CHEEEEAP by buying one with really shitty wood (but otherwise in good condition) and replacing the wood.

People jumping on the bandwagon don't always look before they leap and possibly don't know the prices or don't know of cheaper sources. You also get people trying to make money off those people.
Oh the prices on the civvy market will increase, that's pretty much assured.
Also expect any Jap stuff to have a price increase as well.
uryuishida; Yeah, 'Service Grade' $595? Around that. Is what I got.
Wood isn't going to be cheap, even repros are a bit spendy. On the order form ask for the GI stock and you might get one.
It'll have some dents in it or what not, but that's from the last guy that was issued it.
