Well; she's done it again. In an attempt at being an 'amazing' hunter and tracker like her mother.... she's gotten lost. And not just any sort of typical lost; oh no; she is now deep in the jungle of the pride all because of some stupid hare. At least she caught it.
Once Buirlda was done snapping its neck and licking up some of the blood like her adoptive father had shown her to do; Burilda had finally realized that she was lost. Having ignored the voice in her head she hadn't realized it until it was too late. And now; no matter which way she looked; there were only trees and everything smelled the same.
She wasn't sure if she should panic or not at this point... everything did smell the same and nothing seemed to smell of other lions and that made her worried but not panicked, not yet. Her mommy was sure to come find her soon... or at least Xi would. But that didn't stop her from soon getting scared and nervous in the big dark jungle. She knew it was mostly smaller creatures around her; but at her age and size; everything was scary in her situation.
So rather than trying to go back the way she came (which ever way that was) she began to let out a piteous call for anyone to hear and hoping someone would come find her. So much for being a big bad lioness like her mommy.

Bavu liked being a guard- he enjoyed looking around for anyone causing trouble. Of course, the only trouble that ever found him was the kind of thing he got into himself. It was difficult, being so large when going through such a place, with the spaces between trees so foolishly small. His hide quarters tended to get stuck between the trunks from time to time. Still, normal lions had no trouble slipping around, trying to sneak in, so it was his duty to look around for them even if he was too large to fit. It was a hassle: his parents were a leopard and a lion, both small enough to move slyly, while he was a massive leopon much larger than his parents.
Something in his genes had kept him growing. Still, he couldn’t complain. Being so large was great as well. His power was impressive, something that kept him from getting his lovely black coat tainted by scars.
While he would never tell his pridemembers, who worse their marks with smiles, he hated scars. So did his inner demon. Shouldn’t there be some manner of pride in one’s own body?
He wouldn’t let it get marked up, unless it was from killing someone very important in a difficult confrontation.
Sighing, he ears perked, hearing a small voice through the brush. “Is someone there?” he asked, moving closer. Soon enough, he found himself looking right down at a poor cub, a demon, who looked rather lost. “Oh! Well hello there. What are doing all the way over here? It’s far from the dens.”

Burilda looked up at the male and quickly grabbed her kill and hid underneath his feet; he'd protect her from all of the creepy crawly things in the jungle. "I got lost hunting! But it was worth it cause I caught a rabbit!!" She explained once she was safely hidden away. Wow... this male was GINORMOUS! She realized as she looked up at him. She moved a little bit foward to look up at his face; but he had a small mane... and....
"WOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU TAIL???" She asked in a curious tone that only a cub would have. "Did the end get chopped off?" She asked horrified looking up at him. She had a tuft of fur at the end of her tail... so did every lion she'd met... what was wrong with this lion?
Is Burilda had been born to a rogue mother; or had gone to live with her father; she would have known that his tail end had not in fact; been chopped off. Rather; it was exactly the way it was supposed to be. But that's not how she'd been raised; so how could she know that there was nothing wrong with him?

“Wow! A rabbit at your age- you must be one fine hunter!” Bavu hummed with a wide grin, “I’m impressed.” He looked down between his legs as she moved under him to hide, finding it just cute enough to not be bothered. After all, he was a guard, right? So it only made sense for others to use him for protection.
He just hadn’t expected it to be such a literal interpretation of the job.
Bringing his tail around, he gave it a good look, worried at first that he might find blood all over the place. Nope, just his normal… ah… it didn’t look like a lion’s tail. That was what had the cub looking at him like he was from another planet. Chuckling, he let his tail wag, the fur bouncing. “My tail is different because I’m not just a lion!” he told her quite proudly, “I’m also part leopard too, so I get to bigger and faster than normal lions, stronger too!” Not that he was bragging.
Kind of.
“My tail is normal for someone like me! The real question is- what brings you out so far? You’re at the borders, you know! Did you chase your meal all the way out here?”

((late reply is late and apologetic D wink )
Burilda squared her shoulders; moving them slightly proud of herself and the recognition she was getting for it. She liked being told that she was good at something. It was nice. <3 "Yup! I caught it all by myself!" She squeaked; as if he couldn't already sense someone else was hiding around here somewhere... then again she wouldn't know.. she wasn't that good yet.
"WOOOOOW~" Burilda chimed out impressed; wishing SHE could be cool like him and have a tail like that if it meant she'd be big and fast too! "You're so cool!" She said looking up at him with big eyes of adoration.
When he asked why she was out here... she pointed to her rabbit. "I was hunting it! but it ran away... so I had to chase it... but it kept running... so then I kept running... and finally! I caught it!" she looked up at him with a look of confusion. "I ran out to the boooorders?" She asked her mouth open slightly. "Please don't tell my mom!"

Bavu was pleased to have someone who liked his strange tail- normally the demons tended to look down on him for the way his tail looked. It was only more proof that he wasn’t a full lion. As if a massive body and small mane weren’t proof enough. Still, he didn’t mind. As if any of those small lions could hold a candle to him in terms of brute force!
If his demon were more vicious, he would show them all what he could really do. Luckily for them, he was a more subdued sort of demon, who appreciated protecting more than disciplining.
“Oh, don’t you worry,” he hummed lightly, “your secret is safe with me- I won’t tell your mother about you being all the way out here. Why don’t you pick up your kill and we can walk back into the pride together? Even if I don’t tell anyone, you’ll be in trouble if you get caught out here with me!” He started to move, watching her, waiting for her to toddle in front of him.
Cubs were so cute.
