Never far from his brother's side, Judeau was suddenly there, as if he always had been or maybe he had been there all along. His head lowered to nudge against his brother, a gesture of comfort and reassurance. It was okay, he was there, he would always be there.
"Are you okay?"
Judeau was at least fairly certain his brother had not been injured, he knew Van was stronger than that. But falling was frightening, he didn't like it when his brother fell.
The little cub gave his brother a reassuring smile as he settled on his haunches, his own wings folded against his back. Flying was hard, it was something neither of them had accomplished yet.
But maybe next time, they should try a smaller rock.

The small god sniffled, the fact his brother was there soothed those tears that had burst forth. He was fine now that Judeau was there. Though , he had always been fine. Being frightened wasn't fun.
"I don't think I'll ever be able to get you a piece of the sky Jud," He sniffled some, the tears quickly drying up. His worries seemed to be forgotten around his brother. Though still, he wanted to get a piece of sky. Even though it was physically impossible the little godling wanted to give the sky to his brother.
He pawed at Judeau, the frown quickly vanishing into a smile.
"Where did you come from any way? You're like magic Judeau," He laughed and pawed more. The fact that there was some truth to that , the two cubs being gods, hadn't really come across little Vans thinking quite yet. Course, we're talking about a god who quite literally didn't really know what mortals were.

More reserved than his brother, Judeau held back, pausing mid-step as his ears fell. After watching Van fall, and knowing he couldn't fly himself, Judeau wasn't so sure he wanted to jump off that big rock.
"Maybe we should find a smaller rock."
Or wait until dad could teach them, he liked that idea.
But he wanted to be there for his brother. If Van was so excited to spread his wings and fly, the Judeau just couldn't not try. A deep breath, steps slower than his brother's, Judeau followed, making his way to the rock and cautiously climbing up next to his brother.
Together, they would fly, or fall. Oh, but he really wished Van had picked a smaller rock.

Judeau was shaky at best, paws curled as if clinging to that rock for dear life even as his wings unfurled. With each number his brother counted, Judeau's ears fell a little lower, his paws curling tighter. By the time he had reached three, Judeau nearly had to bite his tongue to keep from whining.
Three, this was it, no turning back now, he couldn't let his brother down. His eyes closed tight, a hesitation as he silently counted through the numbers to himself. Ready, now, he took a deep breath and jumped!
He was airborne! ...And then he was plummeting, landing with a soft thud before tumbling through the snow and then finally skidding to a stop on his back with a yelp. Owww...definitely should have picked a smaller rock.
His eyes opened, searching through the snow for his brother.
"Van?"

Judeau had rolled to his paws, shaking the show from his pale hide (and the cobwebs from his head). Well, that hadn't been as bad as he thought it would be, but he still wished Van had picked a smaller rock, or you know...a little pile of snow.
"I'm here."
Judeau gave his brother a small smile, moving to brush against him, they hadn't landed far apart. Van had no reason to worry, even if he had flown, Judeau would have never left without him, never.
"Can we try a smaller rock next time?"
Please?

"I..."
Judeau had opened his mouth, only to close it again. He had only thought that a smaller rock meant a shorter fall. And a shorter fall was far less frightening. That was what he was thinking, but seeing how happy Van was, he just didn't have the heart to say it.
Instead he just sat in silence, watching his brother not quite sure of just what he was doing or that if he ever finished it would work. He blinked once, his tail twitched, thought of something to say, then didn't say it.
"Maybe...dad could teach us how to fly."
That sounded a lot better than jumping off boulders. Unlike his brother, Judeau wasn't so eager to fly. It wasn't that he was afraid, or that he didn't like the idea of flying, he was just...content on the ground, with Van. But so long as they were together, it would be okay, right?

Judeau gave a small nod, a playful bat at his brother's nose. Yes, asking father to teach them, he liked that idea, especially if it meant he didn't have to jump off that big rock again.
"Okay."
He felt much better about that idea, and even if Van didn't pick up on it, he suddenly felt much lighter than he had a moment ago. Yeah, with Father's help they could learn to fly, he was sure they could. And best of all, they wouldn't have to jump off any more rocks, right? Right?
