It had been several(more than two) weeks since Khindel's last encounter with the ever-impossible Azar. So what had happened in those weeks?

Did some training - like a boss.
Beat a rogue - like a boss.
Ignored Azar - like a boss.
Probably angered her doing so - like a boss.
Mentored some cubs on women - like a boss.
Did some more training - like a boss.

...you get the idea.

It was the dawn of a new day, and the sunlight peeking in his den awoke the phoenix-marked lion. With a yawn and a stretch he exited and headed down to one of the few water sources provided in the desert.
During the weeks, Khin'del had made a friend of the two cubs - Huozin and Xiuhcoatl, as well as Xiuh's mentor, Quidel. Quidel was just slightly younger than himself, though in countenance, the native Firekin was a lot younger. Still, Quidel the Bone Collector was good company. The boy was a good source of information on the traditional Firekin, seeing as his mother had been the queen of the trads, and he himself was one of the last born to that sect, on that soil. He knew that Quidel was fiercely loyal to his mother, and yearned only for her approval.
Khin'del had asked if Quidel knew of any plans of rebellion from the trads. Quidel's only answer had been that if so, he would remain on whichever side his mother chose.

Khin'del suspected though, that sometime down the line, if ever enough unrest came, or if Finar-si showed herself, there would certainly be something. What side would he be on? He was leaning towards the traditionalist side. Khindel believed in the gods. He had met Chessa after all, the Goddess of Mirrors, and how else do you explain a winged lioness with mystical powers, other than as a god?

Khindel watched a lizard scurry across the sand after he was done with his drink. Too bad it wasn't something more substantial, or he might have had himself an easy breakfast. Instead, he let the little critter go.

Azar has been up to everything that she had been wanting to do in a while. She didn't have to worry about Khin'del and she was having a good time, spending time with her sisters and playing around. Training cubs. She had been in such a good mood. She was perched up on a dune not that far away from the water, she was panting heavily after chasing around her 'twin' sister. Laughter escaped her maw and it could be heard where Khin'del was. She leaned in and nuzzled her sister. "I'll see you later Zii." She laughed as her sister trotted away.

A smile was plastered on her face as she trotted down the dune heading toward the water, not noticing the male at all. She was too thirsty to notice anyone who was standing around the watering hole. She was still chuckling a little bit, she lent over the water lowing her maw toward it and lapping up water thirstily. Moved into the water a bit letting her stomach touch the top of the water. She was purring quietly enjoying the chance to cool herself down. Her black coat wasn't the best to be in this heat but she learned ways to feel better from her mother who had just as dark of a coat.

His ears perked at the noise and he even looked, but he said nothing, and as she came this way, he turned to leave. It was useless to try and get her to plaster that side on permanently and toss anger aside. he'd explained time after time how getting angry and boasting made one look weak, and he knew that the only reaction he'd get mentioning anything of it would only get her to do the opposite. She was a lost cause in his eyes. He wasn't going to waste more time or words on her.

He was leaving the water.

Azar looked at the male before another laugh escaped her throat. She stared at him before shaking her head a smirk on her her face. She was in a good mood and she wasn't going to let him ruin that. She laughed before wading out of the water. "Now who's being ignorant by ignoring who?" She laughed before bounding forward and swiping at him playfully a growl escaping her throat. However this time it was all out of good humor. "Loosen up some." She laughed with a smirk.

"Any ignoring was not intentional. After all, I though you'd rather enjoy not having me say anything to you so that you might carry on as usual. I was only being considerate, and here you go calling me ignorant." He shook his head. Lost cause indeed. And here she must have gone and sniffed some catnip before coming down to the water.

"I have. Then you went and called me ignorant." he shrugged.

Azar laughed before shaking her head once more. "I never told you any of that did I?" She grinned then pawed at him. "I never told you that I didn't say I'd rather have you not talk to me. Did I?" She sat up some then rolled her eyes. "You really do takes things more seriously. Have you ever thought or trying to become my friend instead of trying to change me?" She chuckled once more flicking her tial around a few times as she sat down before laughing at him. "You know I have to admit I didn't have the best attitude at first but that wasn't an excuse to be just as rude."

She bounded back up on her feet, looking at him with a large grin on her face. "I wanna show you something, follow me." She swiped at him playfully before she started to trot the other way. "Keep up."

"Maybe I was simply trying to change you in to something more tolerable since you had shown me nothing but a side which I could not tolerate. If I could not either tolerate you or change you, then I would simply let you live out your life and find me someone else to attach myself to." He explained, following. "
In the end, Azar, you get what you give. Rudeness for rudeness. Khin'del tried to help her grow as a lioness, in hopes that she would have opened up to what he had to say, but had received a closed book, and chosen the path of least resistance.

Khindel's pace did not alter - he kept with his long lumbering strides. It was morning, after all, and mornings were to be taken slow.

Azar ignore what he was saying, his idea of quick giving up was not something Azar was used to. She was taught not to give up no matter what was doing on around her. She was rather amused at the idea that he was giving up on her but she was ready to show him completely different. She laughed as she moved to the top of a dune, settling on her haunches her tail curling up behind her, and a smile was on her face.

She looked back at the male nodding for him to follow. "Hurry up." She laughed as she looked down the dune, looking at a 'hang out' that she knew as a cub. It was apparently a hang out for cubs these days too.

She waited for him to join her before she started talking. "everyone looks at cubs as something that needs to learn." She laughed as she watched some romp around. A large gathering of cubs that was a normal thing to see there. "But my father has taught me they can be something to learn FROM." She lifted a paw pointing to a cub that was growling and making a fuss. "If you look, even though that cub seemed to be really annoyed." She giggled slightly. "But if you approach them in a different way." She pointed as a smaller cub walked up to them some how convincing the cub to play. "They will act differently. Even if they aren't nice at first."

She smiled slightly before wrapping her tail around tighter around her let. "Once we get older we don't know that we can fight anger with kindness. It might be easier to make a enemy but how far would that get you." She then laughed before looking at the playing cubs once more. "They don't care how some one acts, they won't bother on changing them, all they want is a friend." She laughed before turning back toward Khin swiping another playful paw at him. "You're it." She laughed before taking off down the other side of the dune opposite from where the cubs were playing. He probably thought she was truly insane.

"You say these things as if you understand them, yet when I tried to get you to switch your boasting and anger with kindness, you ignored me all together." Khindel layed down. She hadn't played with him when he had tried to play with her way back when (the 'other lioness' ordeal) so he wasn't going to play tag....yet
"All I had really wanted was for you to open your mind to new ideas. You are in a better mood now. Perhaps you will at least think on what all I had tried to tell you, truly reflect on it? I won't play with you until you answer." And by answering he meant 'agree.'

Azar laughed looking at the male she was in fact in a better mood she had her time to think and she didnt' get why he was making this difficult. "Alright, I will. But!" She grinned as she trotted back toward him pulling at his ear making it clear that she was keeping the playful mood. "You have to remember that trying to change some one and trying to teach them are different things. Thats what I felt like you were doing, trying to change me." She laughed once more before pawing at him. "Now come on! Tag!" She trotted a few feet away before looking back at him. A large grin was still on her face.

Khin'del's tag was more like pushing her off the dune - a hard shove.

"Only because you were being a stubborn a** about it at the time. Attitude always changes perception." He said as he stood atop the dune after issuing his tag. "by the way, that shove was a tag."
PostPosted: Sun Feb 28, 2010 5:14 pm

Azar rolled her eyes before she was blinking at his tag. That was a tag right? She grinned as her thoughts were confirmed. She grinned taking off after him. "Shoving ins't a good way to make friends!" She laughed as she chased off of him giggling a bit as she did, easily keeping up with him as they ran. "I'm going to get you!" she called out as she started to creep up on his tail. She wasn't that sure of what she was getting into but she was going to try and become his friend.

Khin'del, skilled rock climber that he was, leapt up onto one of the larger rock formations in the area. It was where he did most his training, so he knew every safe crevice in which to place his paws.

"Winning doesn't matter, it's how you play the game." He waited for her to get up just about to his level on the rocks, before jumping down and continuing to run.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 28, 2010 5:27 pm

Azar laughed once more as he spoke. "I wasn't saying I was going to win!" she giggled before trying her hardest to run fast after him. She waited a second as she perched on the rocks taking a moment to figure out where he was doing. She smirked as she lept off of the rocks, heading in the direction that he was going. He ended up getting a lot closer to him, waiting for the right moment before pushing herself even harder then before. She lept into the air grabbing his back legs and pulling him down, sending them both tumbling down the ground. Laughter was escaping the lionesses paw as she landed half on top of him.

Just as she left he was preparing to zip the other way. There was no way to avoid a mid-air collision, and at this point Khin'del was trying to avoid smacking skulls with the female.
So now Khin'del was laying with his belly on the sand, and with Azar using his rear end as a pillow.

"This is not very dignified, you know that? My hind end is not for resting your head on..."
