In the town's playground, a group of children could be seen running about and enjoying the day. The played games and told stories, they laughed with one another and forged friendships. The ties that held them together were few and simple, but they proved to be strong as the children would come together everyday just to be in each others company.

Then one day, a strange man appeared and approached the children. He was wearing a black suit, with white gloves, polished black shoes and a dark-indigo tie with a silver gem attached to it. The man had black hair which hanged lazily on his face as he asked the children a question "Are you happy?"

To which they replied "Yes" almost in perfect unison. The man nodded and with a flick of his wrist several small jewels in his hand, one for each of the children. The jewels glowed with a bright light as the children held them in their hands and giggled with joy at such a wonderful gift. "Thank you mister." they said.

"You're welcome." he replied as he prepared to leave. "Be sure to take care of them." he said suddenly "You'll soon be needing them." Then, before the children could even blink he was gone, a couple of white feathers were all that remained in his place.

Then after a few months the families of the children were forced to move away from the town. For some it was because their jobs, for some because their families were in different areas, and for some because they wanted their children to grow up in a different town. The children protested, but they could not stop their parent's decision. And so, with tears they said goodbye to their friends, carrying with them their respective jewels.

Present day...

The children have all grown up into young adults, they have been separated from one another 15 years ago, but although they are not aware of it, their paths will soon cross again.

Suddenly, each of them experience a great tragedy, some the hospitalization of their loved ones, some the loss of their financial support, and some the loss of their will to live. Though different, each of their tragedies have one thing in common, they are all great but they are all reversible, with the power of one wish. Almost instinctively, they grab their jewels and made their wishes to them, and simultaneously the jewels glowed brightly and a different creature was summoned for each of them.

The creatures introduced themselves as the Shards, each a part of one mystical creature a wish-granting entity known as White Wing. They then explain that the only way for them to grant them their wishes was for them to defeat and absorb each of the different jewels that were given to them as children, only then will they be able to transform themselves into White Wing.

The person to successfully defeat all of the Shards and piece together White Wing, will be granted one wish, anything that they desire. Thus, the battle begins, will the friends be able to fight each other and rob them of their own hopes? Also, are the Shards and White Wing truly what they seem to be?

Shard Keeper
RPC name: Elizabeth Fotare
Gender: Femal
Age: 19
Personality: Sarcastic, a bit rude at times, jumps into situations without much thought, and aggressive, but if you can befriend her she'll trust you forever.
Bio:
As a child, Elizabeth was pretty independent and would wander around the neighborhood until meeting up with other children she could play with. Her parents were never home, so she was never taught proper manners or how to really make friends. At first the other children she knew hated hanging out with her because she would unintentionally insult them or hurt them. Eventually, though, her friends accepted her and softened her heart a bit. When the odd man came, she was so pleased that an adult actually cared about her, so she accepted her lightening blue gift.
Elizabeth had to move away because of financial issues and her parents had to get new jobs. Not wanting to leave, she put up quite a fight with her parents and avoided them in her new home. Although her attitude toward them seems cruel, her parents were never interested her wellbeing anyway. Forced to be on her own, she went from group to group of people trying to find a place where she felt comfortable and where people would accept her personality. Unfortunately, she could befriend no one.
Over the years, she had begun to feel very depressed and didn't know who to turn to. Her mom had become an alcoholic because she lost several jobs, her dad had moved out, and she had no idea what became of her old friends. Not wanting to give up hope quite yet, she grabbed her jewel, pressing it against her chest, and wished for a better family and a new life. Suddenly, a lightening bolt burst forth from the jewel and her Shard appeared. After he described to her the conditions in order for her wish to be granted, she grimaced. Her first friends were the only ones that had accepted her, and she couldn't stand even the thought of seeing them suffer. Unfortunately, she is still in the process of deciding her happiness over her friends.

The night when Elizabeth was on the verge of suicide, she picked up his jewel and pressed it against her chest, her tears dripping onto the shining jewel. LaPoseur

Shard Keeper
RPC name: Callum Stacey Hunter (Hunt for short)
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Personality: Lighthearted, with an easy smile; more often than not, a sardonic smile. He is passionate about some things, and reacts accordingly whether defensively or collaboratively, but for the most part is a calm guy. He likes to think of himself as a bit of a badboy, but inside knows he couldn't really be one - his heart is full of compassion for all he may act like a miscreant child.
Bio: Hunt lived with his mother and older sister as a child, and because of this, he inherited some need to be "the man of the house" from a young age. He lived in a small town; all the children of an age knew each other. They were playing one day, and then the man that Hunt could never forget, despite his young age, appeared. He granted them each one gem. He remembers catching the clear gem, and lifting it up to the light, seeing the rainbows dazzle from it. He could have sworn he had heard a gentle chuckle.
But time moves on, as do people. So Hunt found himself with his mother and sister, going through school and discovering that around other men, he was very shy. He could not explain it, but when he could feel the weight of the gem between his fingers, he was always heartened and comforted. So he took it everywhere, and held it tightly when he was intimidated.
Aged 19, his sister had moved out of the house, but his mother had remarried (her first husband having died before Hunt's birth) and he and Hunt did not get along. His anger and frustration he poured to the gem, locking himself in his room and pressing it to his forehead or lips, hard. One day, he was driving his mother and step-father back from the airport after their anniversary holiday, and his step-father was already getting on his nerves. He hated driving, because he couldn't feel the cool calm of the gem in his palm when he became terse. His temper was getting worse and worse, when suddenly- SMASH. No memories were in his mind, but he did find out one thing: he had killed his mother and step-father.
Horrified, he ran away from the ambulance (who had declared him only shocked, unscathed) and into a nearby forest, where he pulled out the gem, tears streaming from his face, and begged it to take away the image of his own mother, bleeding and dying, from his mind. "I wish," he had thought feverishly, "I wish I could bring her back!" And he pressed the gem against his forehead, the edge creating a red line in his skin. The gem warmed suddenly, and the edge on his forehead turned into a soft pair of lips. "And so you shall." The figure before him said softly.
Appearance: [[ Macho Man ]]
Other: Secretly, he listens to Disney songs on his iPod and puts the volume low so no one can hear.

Shard
Shard name: Featherflight
Gender: Female
Personality: Quiet and unobtrusive, Featherflight has a tendency to merely watch with an impassive expression. However, she has a mocking humour and a smile to match, and this often shows affection rather than distaste.
Abilities:
Wind Tunnel: Opens a small tunnel of circling wind, which she can pull Hunt through quickly, whilst knocking every around off their feet from the force of the winds, and can continue this for several minutes. Very effective fleeing technique.
Wind Push: One pulse of gale force winds focused in one place - knocks offender from their feet, and can bruise at point of contact
Wind Slam: Increased force of Wind Push - can break bones and throws attackers back several feet
Wind Barrier: Fast winds in a defensive circle that deflect all attacks, keeping visibility but protecting those inside. If others come within 2 metres of the barrier, there is a chance of being blown off their feet. Good for hostile negotiations.
Typhoon: Advanced form of Wind Barrier. Gale force winds that deflect all attacks whilst in action, picking up grit and earth which lowers visibility, and throws everyone in 3 metre radius back several feet. Draining to perform.
Bio: The odd man had passed her on to some...boychild. She felt his small hand curl around the gem and watched as he held her up to the sun, watched his face screw up and chuckled. Maybe it wouldn’t be so boring after all. Over the years, she mostly dealt with his self-consciousness, but she was surprised to find herself happy when he turned to her for support, and began to rely on her every day. She became part of his routine.
Then his mother remarried, and suddenly so much more pain was being passed through the gem than before. She had never felt his anger or his pain ever cut so deep; it was like he was actually bleeding. A genuine maternal affection grew for him, and she cared for him in the way that she knew he wished his own mother would.
Then it happened. She was awoken by a silent scream pressed through his skin. A scream of horror, of guilt, and unbearable sorrow. And, finally, he made a wish strong enough for her to appear. “I wish,” he had sobbed, “I wish I could bring her back!” The cold line of the gem she felt turn into her lips, and with her maternal love finally showing, she pressed her lips to his forehead and held him in a tight embrace. “And so you shall.” She whispered, knowing, in her heart, that it was a promise she might not be able to keep.
Appearance: [[ The Calm Before The Storm ]]
Other: She tries out her powers on unsuspecting birds when she's bored.

(Exiting David's house)

"No." said Whitefire bluntly as she crossed her arms and leaned on the wall in David's room. "I cannot allow you to go outside without complying to my rules. That is final." she spoke with a firm tone

"But..." David replied as he looked at the set on clothes his Shard had given him. A dark overcoat with a matching hat, he was then instructed to wear a pair of sunglasses and to make sure his face was always concealed. "Wouldn't I look like some kind of... serial killer or something?" he said as he waved the coat's lengthy sleeves.

"I don't care. Frankly it's an improvement from your otherwise weakly attitude." she replied "And besides--" she turned to face him properly before continuing, her tail flicked one last time before standing still. "Do you think you can face your friends? Even after your decision?"

David remained silent, he had no reply to make, no answer to give. His friends were precious to him, but his parents were more precious... especially their lives.

"Good, now let's get going." spoke Whitefire as she suddenly grabbed onto David's sleeve and hauled him out of the room. "The sooner we meet the other Shards, the sooner I can attempt to absorb them. And the sooner you can make your wish to White Wing."

"Hey! W-wait a minute!" David stammered as he was dragged out of his room and eventually out of their house. "You're not even properly dressed!"

{In Elizabeth's Room}

"Excuse me?" Elizabeth questioned her Shard, rudely. She was on standing on her bed, looking down at Clearfeather with disapointment. "Like I'm really going to just steal every bit of happiness from the only people that could undestand and care about me! Ya right." She rolled her eyes.

Clearfeather just stood, neither smiling nor frowning at her remark. Instead he calmly replied, "I'm sorry Fotare, but you must if you want to live a better life." He flew up from her floor till he was looking down at her. "And besides," he added with a smirk, "You are forgetting that I actually understand you."

Elizabeth looked up at him and sighed. "Fine. I suppose I have no choice." With that, she jumped down from her bed and headed toward her door.

Following her, Clearfeather pulled her back by her shoulder. "Ah, Fotare, you are forgetting something." He grinned. "Please, accept this." He handed her a pair of sleek black pants, and a long, chained, black coat and top hat. "I thought you might like this, and you have to conceal your identity somehow."

Shrugging, because she didn't mind not being recognized, she took the outfit and shoved Clearfeather outside of her room. "I need to change, you can't watch." A moment later, she came out. "Huh," she looked down at herself. "I guess I don't look too bad."

"Good. Don't forget the shades, though." He slipped them onto her face. "And don't fret, no one will notice the wings."

(Walking in the streets)

"Hey wait a minute!" David yelled, finally breaking free of Whitefire's grip. He looked around to see a few of the bystanders were looking at them quite strangely which was expected.

"What is i--?" Whitefire's question was interrupted when David suddenly grabbed her arm and pulled her to a nearby alley. "That was rude." she commented when they finally stopped "Now, what is it?"

"Sorry about that." David apologized, wiping the sweat from his face. "But, how do you plan on finding the other Shards anyway?" he asked.

"That's easy." Whitefire replied, with a wave of her hand "The Shards are all part of one being, as such we can feel each others presence depending on how far we are from each other." after speaking she then grabbed hold of David's sleeve "Now, if you have no more questions let's hurry along."

"Dove Wind why do you have to absorb the others cant we all have are wishes and not harm anyone?" she looked at him with curiosity as they left her residence after all her uncle wasn't home so it made it easy to escape the hell hole.

"Not that simple I thought to where an AP student for six of your classes. Where there is a wish there must be a sacrifice in this instance its there happiness verses your my lovely" She looked at her he was saddened by her expression that met his gaze.

"This seems cruel"

"Cruelty isn't a factor her sadly its more that we are all one in the same so it must be done this way if we are to get what you have wished for." He was upsetting her he could tell "Cheer up your life will be better my dear"

She looked at him he made it sound so easy to just get this over with and take what they need and leave the others high and dry forever. She felt a knot in her throat and she put a hand on his shoulder"Can't you not make it sound any worse."

"I am sorry this is the way" She looked hurt by her words.

{Out on conveniently empty streets}

"Oh, ya those wings are the least of my worries at this point," Elizabeth remarked. Clearfeather just ignored her comment and continued drifting over the ground. "So..." she started trying to make conversation. "How, exactly are we going to find everyone else? I mean, I'm sure you can use your little magical powers but I doubt the other Shards are just gonna pop out of the ground like daisies."

Clearfeather laughed a little, "That is true, but I have my ways."

She gave him a questioning look and probed further as they turned a corner. "Well, what are these ways? Do you have, like, little sensors all over your bodies or something? Do you sniff each other out, or what?"

"HA!" was all that was said for a whole minute. Confused about her unusual silence he turned to her. "I'm sorry, but your answers really amuse me." Elizabeth kept staring at him. "Okay, I'll try to explain this quickly. You were kind of on the right track, but its more like we are one with each other." He paused trying to figure out how to explain in a way she would understand. "Well, we can feel when one of us is near. Like right now, and can tell you the almost exact location of several of the Shards. Of course, its more of a guess the farther away they are. But when they are right there you just know. I honestly could never explain what this presence feels like. The last time it was really strong was when I was first given to you, but I hardly remember for it being just a small point in my life." He stopped talking again, making sure that it was a bit more clear to Elizabeth. She nodded slowly, so Clearfeather said, "Hurry, we must be going. We don't want one of them to catch us before we catch them."

(Headed towards Elizabeth and Clearfeather.)

"They're close." the Shard suddenly spoke, standing up from the bench they had been sitting on. She turned her head in the approximate direction of Clearfeather, her ears and nose twitching in response.

"Eh?!" David spoke out, his abrupt movement caused the ice drop he was holding to drop to the ground. "Are you sure you can trust those cat ears of yours? I mean, maybe it's just the wind or something." he spoke, trying to delay the inevitable.

"I am not a cat!" protested Whitefire, her ears and tail standing on end. "I'm a fox damn it! And the wind has nothing to do with it, I thought I explained it to you already." she said shaking her head.

"But..." David started "You're obviously a cat." stating the obvious and completely missing the point. "So what now?"

"Now, we get things started." she said grabbing him by his shoulder and running towards Clearfeather's location. Gaining enough momentum, she used jumped onto a building's fire exit to ascend to its rooftop. "The enemy is aware of our position, as much as we are aware of theirs. The only way we can gain an advantage." she said as she waited on the rooftop. "Is to launch the first attack.

{realizing their presence} {Oh and I'm going to call "Elizabeth" just "Liz" because it makes things simple for me...}

Clearfeather became still. "They're here," he whispered, looking seriously at Elizabeth. His wings fully expanded and the feathers grew tense, waiting for their attack.

Liz stared back at him in shock. "Already? Damn, I didn't think we'd find each other so soon. I guess your little magic skills are kicking in." She looked down at her feet, feeling a chill run down her spine. "So much for sneaking up on them, eh?" she muttered.

"Shut-up," the Shard replied. A little annoyed he added quickly, "And its not magic. I thought I explained that to you."

Liz merely shrugged. I didn't think this would be the way I reunited with one of my friends. She sighed. So much for open arms. Heh, now its just open fire. "So this is how it begins."

"Yes." He began to flex his fingers and ruffle his wings, just waiting for their first attack. "If we, well I, can build up a strong defense, we might be able to avoid their first moves, but all is random in war." As he spoke, his eyes began glowing bright blue and the veins on his arms began popping out against his skin as his fingers turned bright and little sparks flickered around him. He noticed Liz's shocked look. "Don't be afraid of me-"

"I'm not!" she cut in, trying to look more confident.

Clearfeather reached out and grabbed her arms, pulling her toward him. "Stay close."

( on the street walking)
"Com-on we need to catch the bus is that it ah yes the bus. which way to the bus station" he stood on the corner looking around for the bus depot.

"Why do we need to catch a bus?" She wasn't getting what he was thinking Dove Heart was so vague with his descriptiveness with his vocal notions. She caught up to him he was much taller then her and so when he walked fast she was left in his dust trying to catch him. She was a smart kid not the runner."Slow down please catching up is making me tired and its down the street on seventh"

"Lets go we are in a hurry hop on my back" He leaned over and she did as he asked of her . He took of like a bullet.

[[ Hunt's bedroom ]]

"Hold on one second, you're saying I can only bring back my mother if I crush my friends' happiness?!" He stared at the calm figure before him, who sat quite unconcerned on the windowsill. "No, no, no! I can't do that, I mean they-" He stopped, and began to pace him bedroom agitatedly.

Featherflight looked up at him, her face impassive, wondering if he had finished his ranting yet. No doubt, she thought, no doubt the other Shards had also experienced quite a stir when they first told their friends as well. Seeing that he hadn't yet shouted himself out, she wafted a magazine towards herself and began flicking through, uninterested.

"What if they're trying to sort out their own troubles, like killing their own mother?! Huh? Why does my happiness come as a price of theirs? How-" He stopped again, his mind functioning in jerks. "How did we get here?" His shock had abated and sudenly, confusion and curiosity took over.

"You're finished?" She asked in her gentle voice, looking up at him from the magazine still poised in her hands. Her expression was somewhat mocking, but she thought it best to put that particular brand of teasing away for the time being. Her was looking expectantly at her. "It appears you are. Well, each Shard has specific powers, granted by whoever made us. I have an affinity for harnessing the wind; I merely opened a tunnel to here and pulled us through." She paused. "I don't know how I do it, but that's beside the point." She gave a little smile. "Shall we go? I mean...nothing particularly interesting is hanging on this, only your happiness." She gave a wry smile and returned to her magazine.

Hunt looked at her, struggling internally. "Yes." He said softly.

"Finally. Put these on." She brandished some clothes at him.

He unfolded the clothes and looked at her admonishingly. "Grey skinny jeans, a nautical top, a grey man-cardigan and some stupid thick-rim glasses?"

Featherflight fought back a smirk. "I'll look away if you like." He gave her another withering look and she closed her eyes, turning away from him mockingly. She feigned indifference, but she could sense other Shards nearby. She needed him to hurry, she needed to be in the mindset before another sneaked up on her and poof, her promise was broken.

Hunt turned to her, an unimpressed expression on his face. He couldn't quite keep from sniggering as she zipped over to him and did something to his hair. He saw her carefully composed face and tried to mimic her, earning him a smack around the ear and a little smirk from her. "Right, are we done?" He said, once she had finished. His mind had been completely taken from the shock of losing his mother, but he could sense a numbness in his body that was waiting to take over at a moment's notice.

Featherflight's face tightened into caution as she nodded and opened a wind tunnel onto an empty street. Her hair blustered around her. She took his hand, sensing his wariness and tugged him through. In a second, Hunt was sprawled on the floor, with an alert and vigilant Featherflight standing beside him. She looked down at him. "You'll get used to it," she said. She scanned the area, sensing a pull, a tug in the direction of a nearby alley. She stalked towards it, a guarding hand out towards Hunt. "Keep close to me," she whispered, her eyes fierce.

"I can feel them," Hunt whispered back, goosebumps rising up his arms. A little scared, he moved closer to her. He watched her fingers, tensed and slowly moving in the air.

"I think we have the advantage." She whispered, barely loud enough for him to hear. She snuck her head just a peep around the edge of a wall and saw two figures standing, wary, facing away from them. "So it begins."

Hooray, thought Hunt bitterly. What a reunion.

Whitefire looked at David one last time "Stay here, and stay quiet... oh and stay hidden." she then charged a ball of fire on her hand. Once it reached its peak she stood up and launched the ball staight towards Clearfeather who was directly beneath them. "Flam Shot!" she shouted as the bright sphere left his hand and hurdled towards Clearfeather.

David bit his lip as Whitefire proceeded with the attack. Was he seriously alright with this? Even he himself didn't know, however, doing something would be better than doing nothing, at least that was what he told himself.
