Oh how large and glorious this world was. So it was no wonder that little Vashti just had to find some time to escape the watchful gaze of Uggi,Nywele, and Amani. It was a little tricky but she had managed the feat. On her still slightly clumsy cub paws she ran from her den. She didn't know where she was going but she was sure it would be a perfect adventure.

The news of the new cubs spread quickly throughout the thread. Not only had the sister of the sultan returned, but she had beared a gods cubs! What a wonderful day for the pride. Aziz'Din was pleased as well, that his aunt had returned and, not only that, but there were more cubs for the pride! He was faintly annoyed that it was more males then females but that was okay. The pride needed pads too, though there were plenty of banus that were still needed.
Aziz'Din was growing well, larger then the average cub now he was older, so he was allowed out on his own often. Usually he just examined the pride but today he was walking. Which was why he managed to spot the new female cub running from the denning area. He narrowed his eyes and followed after her. He hadn't seen her before. Was she one of the new ones? That was silly if she was alone at her age. "Hey," Aziz'Din called out, glancing around to make sure no one trying to approach her. "Are you lost?" He asked, hoping that was it. She better not be running away.

Vashti stopped pinning her ears back and crouching, she had been caught! But wait it wasn't her mother, father or even Uggi, so did she have to listen? She turned her head to look at the cub and blinked a bit. It was a boy, she was suppose to listen to her brother, but what about this cub?
"Um no...not really..." Vashti said standing back up and blowing her bangs out of her eyes with a huff. How had momma said to greet others? "Um...hiya....um no greetings...pecar... no pesar?" She tilted her head as if to ask if she had responded right.

Aziz'Din watched as she stopped, looking reluctant. She was trying to sneak away then. He was guilty of that many times, especially with all his siblings in the end, it was far too loud. He hid a grin at her stumbled greeting. She had got it right, in the end and she had at least tried.
"Greetings, Banu," he responded politely, not knowing her name to add it to the end for it to be really respectful. "I am Aziz'Din," he told her, adding, "but you may call me Aziz." It was what all his sisters called him. "You are the new cub from Pad Nywele and Beybanu Amani, right? Beybanu Amani is my aunt, so that makes you my cousin." He eyed her her curiously and sighed. "And as your cousin, I can't let you wander off on your own. So where were you going? I'll come with you."

Vashti smiled assuming she had gotten the greeting right. She padded over to the other cub wagging her tail more like a puppy then a lion cub.
"Ok pesar Aziz! My name is Vashti." She said with a chirp curling her tail around her paws. "Yes Nywele is my daddy and Amani is my mommy. Cousin? What is a cousin? Is it like family? Like my brothers or something?" She tilted her head as he sighed wondering what it was about. "I haven't the faintest idea." Her eyes glazed over for a moment before she spoke again. "Oh! You're gonna show me the river, how sweet of you cousin." Vashti said grinning wide. She didn't really comprehend what just happened, but her seer abilities where at work already.

Aziz'Din tilted his head, trying to find some way to explain to the young cub, Vashti, how he was related to her. "It's kind of like a brother, but not really," he told her, "except my father, is your mother's brother. So that makes us cousins." He wasn't sure how well that explained their relation to each other, but it was as simple as he could make it, without confusing both of them.
He blinked. The river? Well, he supposed he could. It wasn't too far from the dens. He peered back towards the family dens and hoped she wouldn't be missed too much. "Sure," he agreed easily, "Let's go to the river." He began to move slowly in the direction of the river, keeping his pace slow so she could keep up.

"Oh ok, I think I get it." Vashti said nodding to Aziz's explanation. "I want to meet your father....what is he to me another cousin?" She pondered what her mother's brother looks like.
"Yay! I knew you would take me." Vashti did her best to hide her clumsiness as she followed after him. "I hope I'm not always like this." Vashti mumbled as she stumbled a bit on a pebble. "How many brothers and sisters do you have Aziz?"

The older cub felt very smart, being able to answer her questions readily, and the fact she was understanding them, though it was taking a little while, but that was understandable. She was only young after all. "Father is your Uncle," he told her. "Just as your father is my Uncle, because he is mated to your mother. My father is your mother's brother, so he's your uncle." That wasn't overly clear, he realized afterward. Perhaps that was a little too complicated. "Or, just remember it this way, the parents of your cousins are your aunt and uncle."
He laughed lightly, watching her trip over her own feet. "I was really clumsy when I was younger too," he admitted to her confidentially. "You will grow out of it," he tilted his jaw proudly, his steps confident and easily as he directed the two of them towards the river. "Uhh...a lot," he said with a snicker, trying to remember. "I think I have nine sisters," he said slowly, "but I can't remember how many brothers I have...there may be more sisters, actually." He frowned, struggling to count them, even as he imagined them all.
