KANYE WEST OR NAS?

I was talkin with my friend yesterday and asked him who he thinks is one of the best rappers alive and not in jail in his opinion and he said Kanye West. I respected his opinion but I said I thought Nas is one of the best in my opinion. Why after I said that did he say Nas is wack and he went on to say that Kanye is better than him? confused I wanna know what you guys think. Please give a good reason. Don't just say that one is better just because the other is wack. I want good valid reasons because my friend couldn't give me any.

In my opinion I think Nas is better simply because he has been in the game longer than Kanye. My friend did say that Kanye is the only rapper to completely change his style and still come out with a high selling album (Comparing college dropout to 808's and heartbreak) but Nas has been argued to be better than Jay-Z because of his many disses towards the man when they were rivals. Without Jay-Z there would be no Kanye. AND if Nas were in a freestyle battle with Kanye I think Nas would win 2. Those are my main reasons why I think Nas is better but i'm gonna let you decide.

I think he's better 2 n i wasn't mad that my friend liked Kanye better than Nas cuz i didn't really care but when he said Nas is wack i got mad cuz even if he wasn't as good as Kanye he still wouldn't be considered whack cuz he's one of the only real old school rappers to me so he definitely aint wack.

Because nas has been in the game longer i would have to say he is the one I would pick. There is more then one reason. Yes kanye has put out some high selling CD's in his carrer BUT nas has a style all his own.

Nas is the only rapper that I know of that spit a story in reverse or has put out s**t other then getting money and being on the block. Kanye has word play and raps about money and s**t like that now since he got blew up. In other words he has become cocky and stopped putting out the music that made him famous i think he's trash now

I'm kind of the same way. I would have picked the old Kanye over the new Nas but he's changed since he 1st came out.
