PROJECT PICS w/ Instructions! <3
What you need: The image you would like to print, embroidery hoop, fabric paint, and some fabric to make the screen with. (Not pictured, item to print on, scissors, paint brush, Mod Podge, cardboard, iron)
Stretch the fabric over the outer hoop, I used a kid's sarong I bought at a thrift store, then press the inner hoop in place. Pull the fabric tight then tape the image to the hoop. You can trace the image on the fabric with a pencil at this point, but I didn't.
Use your Mod Podge to paint in the negative space.
Use your Mod Podge to paint in the negative space. Make sure there are no holes in the Mod Podge'd negative space. After waiting 20 mins, you can even coat the back to make sure there are no holes as I did. It's ready to use when it's dry!
Put a piece of card board on the inside of the shirt/behind where the image will go to make sure there is no bleeding to the other side of the garment. Place the screen where you would like to place the print and put some paint down. Use a small piece of cardboard to pull the paint to fill out the stencil. Use a paint brush to touch up after removing the screen. WASH THE SCREEN BEFORE THE PAINT DRIES!!
Wait 4 hours, or however long needed for the paint to dry. Read the label to be sure how long to wait!
Cut a paper bag big enough to cover the print and place it over the print and iron for 2-3 minutes to heat set the print.
Now you have your very own custom screen print! (be sure to wait 72 hours and wash it inside out)
