Although Talutah was quite fond of her black and red colours, she had to admit that they were no help with the late afternoon sun. She kept to the shadows in an attempt to hide from the heat. It was a small relief, but enough of one to help her focus on her duties better. She hadn't thought she would be made a guard upon her joining, but she supposed it was to be expected. Hopefully her skills as an assassin wouldn't go unnoticed for much longer.
Stopping under the thicker shade of one of the larger trees she swept her eyes across the savannah. There were the usual small critters going about their business, nothing out of the ordinary. For all the time she had been her she had had few encounters with rogues or other outsiders. The rumours of the demons inhabiting this land probably kept most travellers away. All but the curious, or really stupid, ones. And other demons, of course.
She decided to rest for a few minuets, before continuing with her rounds. To rest her paws and, more importantly, to cool off. It would be wonderful if she could be on duty only during the evening and night, but alas. The spot was good enough, her dark fur blending in with the shadows. The only thing that gave away her position were her gold eyes, flashing with reflected sunlight.

He obviously stuck out in the bright sunshine, the savannah grass the only thing behind him for miles. He had been traveling a long time, but he smiled as he landed close to the right destination. He was looking for a pride.. a certain pride in fact. He gave a purr of pleasure, and continued walking, not trying to hide or stay hidden from sight. Obviously a cocky lion, he walked with a sort of grace, but it was a grace that power brought. He was a strong male, and he knew it.
Red eyes gleaming as the land gave way to a grove of trees, he knew he had hit the mark. Eyes looking around him, he made sure he was alone. After all, he didnt want anyone trying to fight right now. Not when he was so close to what he would call home..Or he hoped he was strong enough to be chosen. His black mane hung about his head, and the bangs fell into his eyes as he looked. Shaking his head, he soothed the peice back in place, and stopped.
Someone was out here, but he could not see them.. Wherever they were hidden, he could swear he heard breathing..
"Hello?" He called, voice rather deep. He grunted the word once, before continuing scanning with deep ruby orbs.

Talutah snapped to attention as she heard the heavy footfalls of an approaching traveller. Ears rotated in the direction of the sound, eyes searching the savannah. Soon he appeared, a big black lion, moving towards her hiding spot with confident steps. She cocked her head to the side, intrigued by the stranger. His fluid movements hinted of the power hidden in those muscles and there was a certain air about him that made her think he was no mere traveller.
Ready to jump into action, she waited to see if he'd actually head into the pride's territory or turn in a different direction. When he was just a few feet away she decided it was time to leave her cover. In one fluid motion she jumped out of the shadows of the trees and landed in front of the unfamiliar lion, growling menacingly.
"You should do well to turn back now, stranger. These are the lands of the Aikanaro'hini." She warned, baring her teeth and unsheathing the claws of her front paws. A fight was the last thing she wanted in this heat, but she was more that ready.

He looked at her a moment, raising his eyebrow with an amused look. Did he look the type to fear a pride he had wondered so close to? Or for that matter..the lion that would turn around after having been told to do so? He chuckled, and shook his head.
"Madam, I know you wouldnt know this. But I dont think theres a demon in the pride that I shall fear at the moment. You see..Im on a journey to find this pride, and you have cleverly told me Ive arrived."
He mused, and flicked his tail giving her a once over. She was pretty, her pelt black as night with red markings that just drew him in. He loved ladies, oh he loved them alot.
But demons held his heart, not the ladies.
