Thuraya had gotten up early and was watching the pride. The young lioness was beginning to think more and more about her future and what life was going to become for her. Soon she would be leaving her father's harem and be placed in one of someone else. Thuraya wasn't sure how she felt about leaving her father's harem and being a banu in someone else's, it was an odd thing for the young cub to figure out.
Deciding she didn't want to think to hard about it the cub got up and began to wonder around the pride, perhaps today she would meet someone new, make a friend, have an adventure, anything really would be better than laying about all afternoon.

True to her word to Tariq, Orah was out and about today, trying to get to know the other banus... with 'trying' being key word. Every time she tried to approach someone, she'd take a step and suddenly chicken out and turn away, pretending her destination had been different all along. Everyone looked so... like they belonged. So like she didn't. It was almost depressing... how could she related to these other females? They knew themselves, their families and pad, and their life... things Orah did not. It made her wonder all over what she was supposed to with herself, where her place was...
She sighed as she found a grassy area to settle on, her ears back as she watched the others come and go, living out their lives oblivious to the inner distress of one banu.

As Thuraya wondered she was happy to see that she had found one banu sitting of by herself. perfect she thought, it seemed like a much less intimdating thing to approach a single lioness then a group who were talking to each other.
Thuraya crept slowly towards the lioness. The cub was trying to work on acting 'lady' like and she knew that rushing towards someone was what a cub would she needed to act more like an adult.
"Hello" Thuraya greeted the other as politely as she could.

Orah started as she was pulled out of her thoughts by a young voice, turning to blink wide eyes down at a blue cub. She smiled, an almost instant response to seeing one so young. If there was anyone Orah felt she could really connect with, it was a child, oddly enough. Perhaps it was their awkwardness, their naivety, and their need for care... but she always felt closer to them than to the adults that took care of them, that seemed to have everything together and were so sure of themselves.
"Hello, little one." She said softly, nodding politely. "Did you come to sit with me for a bit? I would enjoy the company, I must confess. I was thinking too deeply and it would be nice to have someone to talk to instead. What is your name?" The striped lioness made room for the cub, scooting a bit to the side to share her patch of grass.

Awide grin spread along the cubs face, "Yes" she answered quickly to the lioness's firs question. She was overjoyed that the lioness was so willing to have her come sit with her, she was worried that she wouldn't want a cub bothering her, sometimes adults were like that.
"My name is Thuraya. I am Achal's daughter." she told the other lioness proudly. Thuraya loved her father a great deal, and the young cub actually worried about the day that her father would give her to another Pad, she knew that her father woud chose nothing but the best for her but at the same time she had seen some mean pads in the pride and it made the litter one worry.
"What is your name?" Thuraya inquired... she knew that she had seen the lioness around but she couldn't recall ever hearing her name, then again, she didn't know many other of the lions names in the pride, she tended to stick around her family.

The dark lioness frowned as she tried to place the cub's father, but failed. Truthfully, she avoided the pads of the pride. She had an idea that males and females were kept a bit separate, and even if she was wrong about that, she didn't want to make some sort of social goof anyway. Better to be safe and see how others acted first. But cubs, and females, were quite okay.
"Its very nice to meet you. My name is Orah and my pad is Tariq'ra'd. I'm afraid I've never met your father, but I'm sure he's very nice if he's your father." She smiled as she nodded, glancing back at the pride going about its business. "i haven't really met much of anyone, to be truthful. Everyone seems to busy, you know? I don't want to be a bother." A loose shrug pulled her shoulders up and down and she tilted her head to the side, letting out a little sigh.

Thuraya smiled "I know exactly how you feel.... " the cub trailing of slightly. She watched the members of the pride that she could see, some of them sitting in small groups watching very young cubs play, others bring kills home. The males conducting what ever business it was that they did.
"I could be your friend?" Thuraya said cautiously afraid that she was stepping out on a limb that would snap beneath her feet. It wasn't often that the cub felt comfortable enough to say such a thing to someone but really she needed to start making friends, and this lioness seemed pleasent enough even if there was an age difference between them.

The surprise on Orah's face was open and frank, her great dark eyes blinking a few times. Suddenly, she broke out in a wide smile, her face fairly glowing.
"Of course! I love friends. I would be honored to be your friend, Thuraya... I'm very pleased that you asked. Its very nice of you, to want to be my friend... I don't have many, you know. I'm so shy sometimes..." She shrugged lightly again, feeling even more at ease with this young cub and even a bit happier too. How it easy it had been... to have made a new friend so quickly! She'd have to try again and see if she had such good success next time.
"Why don't you tell me a bit more about yourself, Thuraya. If I'm to be your friend, I would like to know." She smiled brightly as she stretched her front paws out, lowering herself to her belly so she wasn't sitting so far above the younger female.

Hmmm where to start, "Well, to start with I am a twin, there is actually two sets of twins in my litter." Thuraya chirped. "My twin is a boy, and the other twins are both boys." she smiled.
"I have a ton of siblings there was eight cubs in my litter, and my daddy had brought home two other lion cubs and three leopan cubs before I arrived." Thuraya said in a matter of factly tone, it had taken her awhile to figure out where each cub fit in in her family.
"I was in the first litter that was born to one of my daddy's banu's though, the other cubs are outsiders but daddy brought them back here. But soon another litter will be here my mom who is a leopard is pregnant." Thuraya nodded lightly.
"What about you what is your harem like." in the mind of the little cub the harem you belonged to was who you were, she didn't understand the outside world at all nor did she really want to.

The flood of family information was a little bit much for the banu who could not even remember her own, and she sat blinking for a moment before she shook herself into responding.
"Um, well... that must be a lot of cubs. You probably have lots of playmates." She said softly, really unsure how else to comment on that. Having so many cubs around... it must be a strange thing. Truly, Tariq did have lots of cubs with his three other banu, but Orah was not trusted to care for them with the others and was allowed to wander as she pleased. Would her own den be like this cub's, if she paid more attention to it?
"Well, um... my harem is ordinary, I suppose. There are two banus besides me, and they both have litters of their own. Tariq is a kind pad and he takes good care of us... we always have as much as we need and we can really do as we please. As long as we ask permission, of course." She splayed her ears as she thought, trying to describe something to a cub that she had never much thought about herself.

Thuraya nodded as she listened to the other banu, from what she could tell it did sound like most other harems or at least what she though harems were like, she had to admit she knew nothing about anything but her family.
"I am scared to be given to my pad when I get older, though I know the day will probably come sooner then I am ready for it." she offered a tiny smile, it was hard for her to admit it, she had told her daddy once and he had assured her that he would let no harm come to her, and she did trust him, but still to the little cub there was so many unknowns.
The cub sat there silently after saying that looking into the pride, she was trying to make sense of a world she didn't know much about.

Orah sat in thought for a moment, mulling over what the cub had said about being given to a pad. It was how the pride worked, from what she could see, and it happened to every young girl. Still, she found it hard to believe that all the males were heartless, especially with their own offspring...
"I don't think you have anything to worry about." She said finally, nodding firmly. "Your father loves you, he won't give you to someone you won't like, or who won't be nice to you. And I'm sure you'll still get to see your family... at least I hope you do. Everything will work out all right, I'm sure of it." The dark female nodded again, putting on a bright, warm smile for the cub. She knew what it was like to be uncertain and afraid... she would do her best to try and make her feel better, even if it was only for a little while.

Thuraya smiled she appreciated the older lioness giving her some comforting words. It was possible though Orah would know best what was going on she after all was an adult who would know better then her how it was to belong to a pad.
"My daddy does love me a lot, he tells me all the time." Thuraya said with a large smile on his face. "I guess I am jsut worried cause I don't know much about the other males other then my father, and I want to make sure that I never insult my father by dishonoring his name." she said the last part very matter of factly.

Orah nodded as she listened. She understood that. Despite all her worries, she never brought them before the others of the pride... always she approached Tariq in private. It would be very poor of her to repay his hospitality and kindness that way.
"Just trust your father to choose someone kind for you, who'll treat you like his own daughter. He won't give you to someone you wouldn't like." She assured the little girl, putting on another bright smile. Her words had to be true... she just couldn't believe other wise. Not for such a sweet little girl.
And that reminded her... "Are you okay to be out alone like this? You're safe with me, of course, but will your father or mother be worried that you're gone?" She asked, more concerned that the cub would be scolded than anything.

Thuraya thought for a moment, "No no I am sure that my parents are ok with me. I just have to make sure that I don't wonder too close to the pride's edges, that would get me in a lot of trouble. It isn't safe for a young cub like me outside the pride's lands." she told Orah.
"But I guess you know the dangers of the outside don't you?" Orah was fairly certain that the lioness hadn't been born in this pride, and she had instead been brought her by something else. She turned and looked towards teh older lioness as if to find out if her thoughts about the outside lands.
