Tons of series have both anime and manga adaptions. But which is better? The panels and speech bubbles, or fancy moving pictures?

Debate it out.

Usually manga but it really depends on the story in particular.

True. Like Durarara is a good manga, though the anime is way different, it still get's the general idea and it's still really good.
But Kuroshitsuji.. yeah, no. Manga. The anime kinda lacked. Depressingly so.

It really depends on which gets the first influence on the person (mostly true for myself) and most of the time the manga tends to be better than the anime spin off because many things get changed or taken out completely. Like in the Claymore manga (even though it isn't finished) and the anime. The manga is going far into detail while the anime finished before the several year disappearance...and yeah.

I would give the manga a chance first than the anime, but for me, anime helps me get into a series easily since I tend to picky about the story plot in an attempt to avoid the cliche.

You've got a point. I always like to read the original plot before I delve into an altered version.

It depends on the plot and how much stuff the anime has taken out of it that the manga has. or how many odd stories were added to the anime that the manga doesn't have and if they're any good. it also depends on the quality of the anime and/or manga work. if the manga has a lot of detailed drawing and the anime doesn't then i'll like the manga more. It's vise versa as well... but yeah

A well done anime beats a manga but the manga has no expectations so no depression is made if it's bad, like I prefer the anime of bleach then the manga because the anime works and shows the battle instead of showing clips but if the anime isn't well done then the manga will win.

I like both because you get to see the original version in the manga then when it goes to anime you can see everything come together in the show.
