His dark toes ate up the miles, why he was out of the pride he wasn't sure, he simply had an odd, stomach aching feeling in his gut that told him he needed to get away. Having left Kifa in the den with strict orders to hunt ready for when he returned he strode out on the wide plains with his tail swishing behind him and blood red eyes on the road ahead. Not that there was a road, but his feet were taking hi down the path of least resistance.

Why this mood was upon him he just wasn't sure. Something about only having one lioness when others had a few irked him, but it wasn't that, that brought this mood upon him. It was something else. Stopping mid stride he looks to the sky and shakes his head. It was that time of year, his mother had abandoned him at this time of year, she had just left him. A growl rumbled through his chest and he roared at the world in general. It had to be that time of year again, it had to happen once a year, even if he hated the thought he had to just roar and run and growl it out, until the time once again left and things could just get back to normal.

Amara was completely, mindblowingly distraught. She was lost without a soul to guide her, and in a position that she never thought Sarai would've put her in. Amara was now with child and she truthfully wasn't even sure who the father was. Of course, Sarai would know but she wasn't sharing that information, being the spiteful soul she was, and now Amara was stuck pregnant and she had no idea what to do.

She set off wandering. Away from everything she knew, from her beloved pebbles, her favorite sleeping rock, her cherished collection of twigs. She was running from it all. Amara needed a safe haven, a fresh start. She needed a friend.

She was stopped in her tracks by a loud, mournful roar, and immediately had to investigate. Quietly she made her way towards the direction of the sound, ears perked. Forever curious, Amara had to know what was going on.

His pale ears perked through the thick blood red mane, his eyes turned to the sound of the approach, his lips turned in a growl but it topped mid rumble as he laid eyes upon the pale female. A frown crosses his forehead and he takes a deep breath. "Who are you?" It was a simple enough question with quite a lot of weight to it. He was partially asking her name, but also asking where she belonged. He didm't recognise her so certainly she wasn't from his pride but she was almost familiar in a gut wrenching way.

This female he could see was pregnant, and seemingly alone, she didn't have the scent of any other lion upon her, a lioness with a male often smelt heavily of said male, but she just smelt of female. His brow creases and he sits slowly, he didn't want to scare this female, usually if he wanted something he would just take it, but the odd feeling he was harbouring this day kept him glued to the ground and from simply attacking and carrying her back to the pride. This day was very annoying, the sooner it was over the better.

Amara saw the male, could he have been the one with such a sad roar? She slowly came to a stop as she drew closer, watching him sit slowly. Amara didn't want to do or say anything to startle him; he was quite a bit bigger than herself.

"I am Amara," she spoke softly though a curious wisp invaded her tone. The caramel-colored lioness tilted her head to the side, brow furrowed as she tried to figure out the best way to ask him what was wrong.

"Why do you roar, Angry? Or are you a Sad?" Sympathetic, Amara scooted a bit closer to the white lion.

Syrius
His brow creased slightly, she most certainly wasn't from his pride. No female would speak to a male without first being asked to speak, to be asked to question. His mood was an odd one so it let him forgive her for her questions. "It is of sorrow." He states, his voice gruff, he felt a little strange speaking to a complete stranger, but perhaps she was just what he needed to get his mind off that which plagued him.

Taking a breath the very large pale male looked the female over,s he was pretty, her coat shimmered with health,s he was very easy on the eye and she seemingly knew nothing about being a proper female, but the ache in his chest kept him still and calm. "It is a sad day for me, I allow myself this sorrow once a year, only once." He huffed, he had no idea why he was talking to this female, she was just a girl, a pregnant lioness with a sweet voice and calming smile. He could take her back to his harem in a heart beat,s he was smaller than he, but for once he almost needed to convince this nice lioness to follow him.

Pinch
Amara's brow creased in a frown as she listened to the male speak, remaining silent until he was finished. She wasn't sure what she could do to help ease the sorrow that he spoke of, or that he would even want her assistance. He did seem a bit stand-offish, and so she didn't want to press for more answers.

"I feel sorrow, as well," she offered, trying to make him feel less alone. Amara was clueless about the pride he was from, obviously; she hadn't ever been in a pride. It was always just Amara and Sarai trapped together in a terrible love-hate relationship. "I am pregnant," she sighed, obviously quite unhappy with the fact. She wasn't heavy and barely showed, but she knew.

He was a nice enough lion to look at. He didn't seem to recognize her, so he couldn't be the father of the cubs she was now pregnant with. Amara doubted she'd ever find the one responsible for her current state; it left her heart heavy.

Kwea chuckles lightly his deep red mane falling in to his eyes as he shakes his head. "It is a blessing to bring new life in to the world.." he pauses for a moment lifting his head up. "You do intend to look after them don't you?" His lips turn in a half scowl, what did he care? e cared because he would not wish anyone to be abandoned the way he was. He would not even wish it on a female, which was saying a lot.

"I come from a pride not far from here, we, we look after our females there." It wasn't a lie, well behaved females were looked after, well looked after even loved. "You should not be sad. It is a good thing to bare children, it shows you are fertile, worthy a males attention." This conversation was hardly going the way he meant it to, but certainly telling the female her virtues was helping him to forget his worries. He pauses for a moment and purses his lips "My name is Kwea. I come from the Ukucha'wafalme pride, it isn't far from here."

Pinch
Amara looked offended, and deeply so. "Of course I intend to look after them! I might not appreciate being pregnant, but children are a blessing, like you say." She muttered softly to herself, "Sarai would abandon them, though." She scowled at the male, unhappy where her thoughts were taking her.

The scowl promptly dissolved when the male continued talking; she did love the sound of his pride. Being looked after, well, that didn't sound too terrible. "The females in your pride must be very lucky to have such a home; being looked after by lions such as yourself." Perhaps Amara would do well to find such a home; maybe then Sarai wouldn't be able to take advantage of Amara then.

Syrius
Frowning at her outburst he shakes his head, he would normally have cuffed her for such a snap, but she did not know their ways,a nod he had offended her. "I did not mean to upset you. My mother, she abandoned me as a cub, I have never known the kindness of a female towards me." he grumbles, feeling almost ashamed to have accused this female of doing what his own mother so callously did to him.

The large male cleared his throat "Indeed, we make sure our females are kept together and all the females help with raising a litter so that all the cubs get enough love." He pauses for a moment and flickers his tail "Why don't you return with me? We will help with your cubs and you can learn our ways. i will look after you." He coughs, he had never promised to look after a lioness before, he wanted to look after this one though, she wanted to care for her cubs despite not being happy about the situation. It was a irate he couldn't help but love, a dotting mother in his Harem wouldn't go unappreciated either.

Pinch
She hesitated at his offer, having never been given such an offer. The good outweighed the bad in this situation; she knew this for a fact. She would be safe in a pride, safe with a male to look after her. If she was lucky, he would never ask her to do what Sarai enjoyed, something that seemed so untasteful to Amara. Lying with a male wasn't something that Amara would ever do by choice; she'd just have to keep a tighter rein on Sarai. It would be likely she would require some training by Kwea, unbeknownst to Amara, but that would come in time.

"It sounds very appealing," she murmured, weighing her options. Out in the rogue lands she was alone; as time progressed and she became heavier with child, she would be slower and less able to run from predators that might favor a large snack.

"You will look after me?" She pressed, wanting to be assured that she would be making the right decision. Amara wanted to be safe and secure, looked after and even respected to a certain degree. If Kwea could offer that, she would go with him.

Syrius
The large bloody maned male smiles lightly. It was an odd feeling wanting to protect this caring lioness, usually they were for one thing, to serve him, but this one, he had revealed his whole self to, something he had certainly never done for anyone else. With a positive nod he moves closer to the little lioness, lifting a paw to touch her shoulder.

"I promise to protect you and I promise that the other lionesses will look after you to and help with your cubs if you are ever unable." He states, a smile lifting his face, a slight twinkle of a remise in those bloody red eyes. He had never been this nice to a female before. Perhaps it was the whole her being pregnant thing. It was certainly something to muse over.

"I will take you to my home and you will be cared for, looked after and a part of my family."

Pinch
No matter how he put it, there didn't seem to be a downside to this. She only had to be hopeful that he would be understanding should Sarai take over, or if they should ever become one again. Amara hoped he could understand that they were not the same entity, but completely different ones; it was the only downfall to this plan, but she had to believe that he could keep her safe from Sarai and her wandering nature.

"Yes," was all she said. It was simple and to the point; she was agreeing with what he said. For the often meek and unimposing Amara, it seemed like the only option at the time. He was nice enough, and handsome enough, and willing enough to care for her and her unborn cubs; what more could she ask for? And the thought of meeting more lionesses in the pride, well, that was fortunate. Amara loved making friends.

Nodding he gets to his paws. His mood had certainly lightened on this little trip out to the rogue lands, she would come back to the pride and she would have to be taught a few lessons on the basics of the pride, but she seemed willing enough to be a part of his family, as he called it, truthfully he meant his harem, she would be one of his ladies and the cubs she brought in to the world would join his harem nod the males would become pads with the same ideals that he had. It was a good feeling to know that he had gained a family in this acquisition not just a single lioness.

"Come, we should get back before it gets dark, Kifa will have brought us a meal, I am sure you will be hungry." He smiles a very charming smile, one he never really chose to use and felt it was almost reserved for this new female. She had touched a part of his heart and he would keep her close and cared for, that he promised.
