I guess I'm halfway between the two of you: the screens do look very nice and all, but since they are pre-rendered, I'm going to save my excitement for some actual gameplay footage.

Speaking of the trailer:

Once again, looks very good, I'm a bit more excited now, but I'm still waiting for gameplay footage.

Keanu Reeves stars in: Blade Runner 2: Deus Ex.

My real question is, did any of you play the original Deus Ex?

Honestly, I see this trailer and I say "meh". The original Deus Ex was so gripping because you were emerged in this crazy world full of conspiracy, and your choices actually had consequences. You could go through the whole game without killing a single person, or you could kill almost everyone. There were always multiple ways to solve every situation, and certain choices did have significant changes on the narrative.

Sure, the first half of the trailer hinted that they wanted to return to the conspiracy roots, but then it quickly switches to this crazy kung fu action sequence. I'm not opposed to crazy action games, it's just that's not what Deus Ex is. The developers lost focus on what Deus Ex was all about with the first sequel, Invisible War, and the reviews definitely reflected this. I guess we'll have to wait and see if they learned from their mistakes or if this will be Fallout 3 all over again.

Actually, I kind of take that back. I have a feeling that this game isn't going to be a giant blockbuster hit like Fallout 3. Unless things change for the better, I'm predicting some more along the lines of... Alpha Protocol in terms of reception.
