Vanhi stomped her paws on the dry desert floor in frustration. She had HAD it! Was it really that hard to be able to properly roar?
Nothing was wrong with the roar she had right now for her age but it wasn't strong sounding. Vanhi wanted to sound fierce and strong, but here she sounded so small and weak. It annoyed her to no end that she couldn't roar like the adults.
The female opened her maw to give it another go. Only a small mreowwwww came out. No fierce roar.
The female firekin stomped her paw again sending dust every where. She'd get this down. She just had to.

He was a little younger then her but he was enjoying her time to wander around and see the dunes just as much as she probably did. He was a firekin and he didn't let anything hold him back. He was gioing to be one of the strongest firekin. In fact, he was named after one of the strongest firekin. Her name meant 'grandfather's fire', he was basically named after the regent. He was proud of himself. He would always be proud of himself proud of everything around.
He puffed out his chest as he walked and as he came across the other female a puzzled look grew on his face. He then sat down and watched her. "What are you doing?" He asked, as he watched her. Was she trying to roar? Didn't she know that wasn't what a roar sounded like. He was confused on why she was trying too. They were both too young to have the ablilty to do that.

Vanhi's brow was lowered in a scowl. She was not amused by the fact she seemed to not be able to roar yet. No, she'd not give up. She opened her maw again but nothing but a small squeak came. Her eyes widened. What?
Maybe one more time?
The same thing , there was nothing but a small squeak that came out. She sat down , puzzled. It wasn't until anothers voice attracted her attention did she distract from her epic roar campaign .
"Roaring.." Her voice was hoarse and smaller then normal. It hurt to talk.

Kakek arched a brow at her thinking about what the little lioness was doing. He was seriously confused on why she was even trying. "Don't you know you're too young to roar yet." He shook his head a few times at the idea before shaking his hair out of his eyes and then sitting back on his haunches. Sure he would have wanted to flirt with her like he would with most females but at the second he was really too... confused at why she was trying to roar when she was too young.
"What's your name?" He asked curiously before it came over him. "You're really pretty." He added on to what he was saying.

Vanhi made a bit of a face at the comment that she was to young. She didn't think she was.
"I can do it!" She protested .. only to cough. Her voice was worn out. The cub had been at it for hours after all.
Her ear twitched. Pretty? She blinked not sure what to say. Should she swipe a clawed paw toward this male or .. Her face felt hot. What? That was out of no where.
She scowled at the boy unsure what else to do. "You're weird." Vanhi didn't mean to say that. Her face felt so hot though. What the .. This was confusing.

Kakek shook his head at the female. He looked at ehr his eyes almost level with him. He was a BIG lion, even though he was small. He got his size from his mother's side that was for sure. His big paws told the story of how big he was going to get. He looked at her and then laughed slightly. "You can't you broke your voice." He said plainly before huffing. "It's all scratchy and if you keep doing it you'll break it more."
He then shook his head. "I'm not weird I'm complimenting you." He huffed once more annoyed with the fact that she didn't understand what he was doing. He flicked his hair again. "What eis your name?" He asked again.

Vanhi frowned deeper. He was right she couldn't very well roar with a broken voice. This made her hang her head a little in shame. She sulked for a moment .. or two.
Her ears twitched. He had asked for her name hadn't he but the fact that he told her that she was pretty had been a big distraction. Boys had never told her THAT before. Why did her face get hot?
"Vanhi..." She managed. Vanhi eyed him with a questioning look as if to ask for his in return. Normally she was alot more talkative but today... well those roars had taken a toll.

Kakek made himself comfortable where he was sitting before noddnig at the other lioness a purr like sound escaped his throat before he talked. "That is a pretty name," He said simply before pausing for a moment he was going to say something aobut how it was not nice for her not to ask him what his name was back but then he rememberd that well... She wore her voice down. He smiled softly before laughing.
"My name is Kakek. It's nice to meet you." He nodded again he was confused on why he was looking a little awkward though, was it something he said?

The female gave him an approving nod. Still her face felt hot again at the compliment. This wasn't something she was used to but she liked it. Vanhi liked it alot! Praise was even better when it came from a boy she was finding. But why did her face flush every time he said something nice?
"Kakek, " She repeated with a smile. She really couldn't say much more then that and she wasn't about to attempt it. The other cub was right she needed to rest her vocals.
So she slapped a small rock toward him gently. Playing didnt need words. Vanhi lowered her self in a playful pounce like position daring him to slap it back.

Kakek nodded a little confused at her smile at first before he shrugged it off. Girls were really cute most of the time but that didn't mean then never failed to be confusing. Even his mom was a little confusing to him at times. His father couldn't give him a reason that didn't take forever. He was going to have to ask his grandpa next time he saw her. He flicked his tail around before blinking as he saw the rock in front of him. He let out a small laugh before chucking it back at her.

The female stopped the rock with her paw and gave him a devilish grin. She shrank low to the ground and really eyed her target. Calculating how hard it would take to get the rock past him. Oh this was like some sort of odd version of air hockey. Really Vanhi had no idea what sort of game she was playing. Just that it was fun and she liked this boys attention.
Okay focusing again she lifted her paw and smacked it toward Kakek.

Kakek flicked his tail around a few more times before chuckling a few more times as he watched her. This was going to be amusing for him. She seemed like a friendly enough lioness but one thing was for sure he was curious on how she sounded with out her voice being all scratchy and hoarse. One thing was for sure she probably sounded really pretty, maybe that was just the way he was thinking. He was hoping she sounded as pretty as she looked.
He shrugged his thoughts off of his mind trying to take his mind off of what he was thinking about and trying to turn it back on playing the game. But he was a little too late. He felt the rock pop off his nose. he made a small face before launching forward and tackling her growling playfully as he did.

She flailed and attempted a growl of her own but failed as she was tackled. She smirked, this boy had balls. An admirable quality for a firekin to have. Something she liked and something she strived to have her self.
Bravery.
She swatted at him trying to get him off her but failed. She didn't mind though. Rough playing was something she enjoyed. She continued to bat at his nose with a failing growl as she did so.

Kakek growled playfully leaning over and nipping at his ear a few times, pulling gently at her, she didn't want to hurt the lioness, not at all he also didn't want an angry parent after him, on top of that he knew for a fact if there was an angry parent going toward his mom she wouldn't be that happen with Kakek she wanted to avoid that. He was close to the same size as this lioness so it wasn't like she was older and otherwise would be able to handle what ever he through at her he didn't want to take her chances.
He nipped at her ear before bouncing off her her and started to take off. "Tag You're it!" He laughed as he started to trot a little faster.

Vanhi rolled to her feet and took off after the male.
"HEY!" She felt her temper and competitive streak flare to life. She rose up and took off after him. Oh she was going to get him good yeah. She was going to tag him and....
Thats when she stopped. Her voice... It had come back..?
