Moricorm enjoyed her forays onto the border while her cubs were with the Yana'hine. It was...hard, raising them this time. Her last litter had gone to their father as soon as possible. This one...oh this one had such a disappointment within it. She could certainly use most of her litter...but Umarth. Oh how the brown cub made her so MAD at times. Ill-lucked, ill-omened, ill-colored!
The small demoness swiped at an unsuspecting bit of tough shrubbery, growling as Coactum spiraled up with her annoyance. "Damn my mother's blood. Damn it to the deepest pits of hell reserved for torture!"
The male walked behind the cub, making sure no attempts of escape could be made.. Not that the cub had been trying very hard. He had realized the cub had taken to him quickly, and was more adventurous than anything.
His bright red eyes gleamed in pride at the darkness of his coat.. His brood had turned out horribly wrong, and he had not been sure why. But it was no matter. He got the one that he wanted. The darkest, the one that would be honored in the pride. He knew that was what was needed.
"Keep up the pace Cub. You're almost there." He demanded, his voice not really friendly, but not dangerous either.
The cub didnt remember his mother, though he knew he had one. She had been a ray of sunshine for the brief time she had been with him. Of course, father had taken him away rather quickly. He didnt really like the thought of being taken away..Not in the slightest. But he knew father was a dangerous lion, and so he obeyed fully.
"Kay, papa." It replied, not knowing that his fathers true identity was that of a god, and not the mortal that walked behind him.
Ri's ears perked up as two scents reached her. One was familiar...Roth! So he'd finally come to join officially! The other...definitely a cub, but not one she recognized. Well well well...She smirked and felt Coactum sink back within her as she started towards the scents. When she drew close enough, she brought herself up fully. She was not an intimidating sight, exactly...but she was dark and obviously dangerous, despite her size.
"Roth! I was wondering how much longer I'd have to wait. I apologize for not being around lately...the pride had a recent...upset, and I had a litter of cubs."
Roth was satisfied with the cubs response, and began moving once more. If he felt he was going too slow, the cub recieved a quick push to the rump to pick up his pace. Roth did not want to have to defend the little thing from any scavenger that may want to make it a meal..Though he knew full well he would have to if it came down to that.
He saw the female, and his eyes lit up. Oh his beloved teacher..He had missed her, she had been the main reason he had found his inner demon..She had trained him, and it was that training that had his mother abandon him.
"Oh but you knew, one day Id find this place."
He chuckled, voice low in his throat. He cocked his head with a knowing smirk and shook his head.
"Cubs eh? Got myself one as well.. And isnt he just of the perfect color?" He beamed, though it was mainly to make up for the two white cubs that had been born with him.
He stared up at the female, and realized that she was much larger than himself. He gulped, and wanted to hide behind his fathers leg, but knew that he had to be strong. Father did not accept weakness, and he would not now either.
He kept quiet though, knowing the danger of speaking without being spoken to. He merely watched the two interact, until his time came. Though he felt a smile leave his maw when his father complimented his pelt.
Oh? Ri looked to the little black cub, giving him a critical eye before an almost motherly smile graced her muzzle. "Dark, like his father. He's a perfect little one." Those eyes, though...those eyes reminded her of her mother and Umarth. But she knew full well Roth would never have been able to get to her mother, so she could forgive the eyes. "He shows the promise of growing strong and cunning, like you. What is his name?"
Names were important, after all. Names protected the true demon Name every Aikanaro'hini member held inside them. Sometimes they had special meanings of their own, like Moricorm's. Sometimes....they were simply a name for the physical shell, like her daughter Meka'fuu.
Roth puffed out his chest, his eyes gleaming as pride oozed from his grin. He had never thought to have such a perfect cub..He wanted to dote on him, if only to help the other forget he came from a family of white cubs..Almost just like Roth had. Roth had been lucky to be the black sheep of the litter. Otherwise, he might have turned out as lame as his brothers and sisters. Things he could hardly stand as it was.
"His name is S'ixx. He comes from.. an unwilling mother. She bore three, though only one was worth anything."
He snorted, having had been irritated he didn't have more to trek along.
"He has a strong black coat. The eyes, could have been red and I may have been happier. But as it is, Im satisfied."
The cub nodded, and puffed out his chest like his father had, hoping to look proud and strong. He had to fit here, otherwise father would have no use for him..as father had made quite clear. He blinked as the female looked at him with a tough gaze, but once she smiled, he felt his breathing ease, and he loosened his posture.
Moricorm nodded. "His eyes could be used to his advantage. Lure in the unwary..." She smirked. "You've done well, to bring back this one." Pale cubs...they had no use for. In fact, she'd have liked nothing better than to have chased out all the 'pale demons' in the pride. Her half-sister Haramu especially. "I can take you to the new...Morifaer Aran'shale." As much as she HATED the fact one of Sparda's blood now claimed the throne that was rightfully HER bloodline's, she wasn't about to take HER student to the Sparda Aran'shale.
He nodded, and thought deeply about what she said.
"I suppose you do have a point there. He has the eyes of an angel. Though he also sees into the future. Its a rather.. odd thing to me, but think of how it could be used.."
He purred, the lust for power and to be a step above everyone revealing itself. Of course, pride wise he wanted little power, he just wanted to fit in among the demons. But he knew his son was going to have an easy time in regards to such a feat.
"Yes! Do take us there. Id love to meet the one that can grant me my stay in the pride. Im finally old enough, and now I think its my right time."
He grinned, and grabbed his cub by the scruff, to place it in front of him.
He looked at Mori and smiled.
"We are at your service."
See into the future....A SEER! Moricorm looked to Roth with wide eyes. "A seer? Oh Roth, you brilliant, gifted boy. The pride can always use one like him!" A SEER! Oh the boy couldn't get any more perfect! She purred as she started towards where she knew Sil'in Drathir could be found this time of night. She would (grudgingly) admit he was more active than her father had been. "Seers can warn us of dangers to the pride, and of potentional members or groups we can bring in. Sometimes even reveal to us betrayal, or when to attack the fools to the south of us."
"Well hes my boy of course, would you expect anything less?" He asked, puffing out his chest once more, and looking to S'ixx with a nod to move ahead.
"Follow her, and on your life do not stray." He warned, before looking back at Mori and chuckling. He knew he could do something good for this pride, and look! By bringing in his son, a seer, he knew that he had. He couldnt help but feel a bit of pride at the boys gift, though he knew that it was for his own benefit that he was so happy for it.
The cub followed obediantly, and then listened to all the things he knew he could accomplish. So he had a chance! His father could see that he could be a good demon.. Or, whatever a demon that followed the rules was called. He felt sure good was not the right word for that.
"I.. I would be happy to help." He piped up for the first time, looking to father to make sure he had not broken any rule by speaking. When Roth didnt bop him on the rump with a paw, he released his breath, and looked back at the female.
Moricorm chuckled. "Of course not, my dear student." She looked back to the cub and nodded.
"Very good. Loyalty to your pride is a good thing, little one. Loyalty to its ideals." Ah...despite the letdown of her own litter, her student had made her very, very proud. And it showed in the way she walked and held her head up high.
Roth smiled at the female, and looked down at his brood. He had no idea the blood in the cub was not his, but even so, it did not matter. This cub was his through and through, and he was proud to say that it was his spawn. Of course, his mind was on when he would start the next litter.. He wanted to make sure the lands were full of strong lions, though he felt positive they were.
"Oh he shall be. I shall demand it of him." The male responded, and then picked the cub up by the scruff, and began following the female once more. They were home..and he would raise him the way he saw fit.
