Kifa went about cleaning the den, this was something she did with as much speed as possible. Even though she had stopped avoiding Kwea she was still avoiding Amara and her cubs unless otherwise instructed by Kwea. Though if she did run into them she wasn't mean to the cubs. She would smile at them and even play with them for a moment before excuse her. To Amara though she hadn't said anything above a greeting or a good bye and if Kifa had her way that would be how it remained.

She used her tail to help scrape out some old bedding. This was certainly not her favorite job but it was necessary, so she did it without complaint.

Despite having given birth some time ago, Amara was feeling very restless. Kwea had given her strict orders to remain close to the den and prevented her from going out on hunts. She felt bad leaving the duties to his other Banu, Kifa, having only briefly seen the lioness in passing.

She was making her way back to the den when she spotted Kifa, and decided now was as good a time as any to both introduce herself and strike up some conversation, perhaps even offer her assistance to the other Banu.

"Hello," Amara called softly in greeting, moving further towards Kifa.

Kifa jumped a little taken off guard by Amara. Her face was blank but her tail reflected that she was not happy to see Amara. "Hello....." Kifa replied looking about not seeing the cubs she assumed they were just outside with Kwea. That was one truly admirable thing Kwea had done. He treated those cubs as though they were his own.

Kifa kept her eyes on Amara for a moment before turning back to pick up one of the pelts on the raised bed to go shake it out. She started to drag it out her Rainbow eyes shifting to more shades of goldenrod and pink displaying her emotions for anyone who cared or knew how to read them. Kifa wondered if Amara would let her just walk away, she seemed to want to say more then hi.

Amara paused for a moment, unsure of how to proceed. Kifa seemed to not want company, but Amara felt compelled to do her part. Kifa had been providing for not only Kwea but for Amara as well during her pregnancy, and Amara had been so distraught and caught up in being pregnant that she hadn't given much thought to Kifa or her wellbeing, or even thanking her for all the work she'd done to provide food while Amara had been out of commission.

"Do you need help?" Amara asked, despite it being obvious that Kifa was more than capable of cleaning the den. She just wasn't sure what to say, and she wasn't sure why Kifa seemed so cold towards her.

Kifaranga starred at Amara for a moment before putting the pelt down. "I do believe you're supposed to be resting and watching the cubs when you are not ." She replied simply positioning herself in a very arrogant pose. Kifa still didn't like that she was having to share Kwea now. First she had to deal with being stolen now that she was used to it nay liked it this Amara had come along with cubs no less.

"Do you need something? I'm to take care of you as well as Kwea till your cubs are older." Kifa said hoping Kwea might over hear, she wanted him to know she was being good towards Amara even though she wanted to chase Amara away from Kwea.

Well... that was a bit rude, Amara decided. "The cubs are playing at the moment," she said softly, almost defensively. Kifa's comment made her feel like she was both a bad mother and a bad banu, and Amara didn't think she was either. She tried to be a good mother, and she loved Kwea so being a good banu came easy to her.

"I was only wondering if perhaps you needed assistance," she continued in a soft voice. Amara didn't want to overreact and increase the chance that Sarai would appear. The other personality of the lioness had been dormant and Amara wanted to keep it that way. "You've done so much for myself, the cubs and Kwea while I've been laid up, and since the cubs are occupied elsewhere, I thought I would see if you needed help." She gave a shaky smile to Kifa, trying to be friendly. "I would relish the thought of labor; dealing with cubs can be a tiresome ordeal."

((Sorry for the delay in reply, I had to take a small hiatus.))

Kifa paced a little feeling very uneasy she was the type to the violently jealous though she never knew that till now. "Good as cubs should." Kifa replied shortly not looking at Amara.

"I do not. I took care of all this before you came I can handle it now as well, plus the extra duties that have been handed to me." Kifa stopped moving and stared at Amara flattening her ears slightly. "You say it like Im doing you and Kwea a favor. Like I wont be needed once your done taking care of the cubs." Kifa didn't care that her jealousy was showing now. The way Amara had said that just rubbed her the wrong way. "Its not an ordeal for you its what Kwea told you to do. He said rest or taking care of the cubs. I take care of everything else, that's how its supposed to be. Look I rather pretend you're not here and that's hard to do if you talk to me." She said with a snort picking up the pelt again suddenly feeling like she said to much already.

Amara did not like the way that Kifa was acting towards her. She'd done nothing wrong; in fact, she'd seemed to have brought Kwea so much happiness in the time she'd joined the pride that, well, she was feeling rather proud of herself. This other lioness, why was she acting this way? Jealous? Of what?

"Why do you act so jealous, Kifa?" Amara was so confused. "Do we not have the same goal in mind? To make Kwea happy? He would not be happy with us right now, I would imagine. I do not want to fight with you, not at all." She fell silent, at a loss for words.

"Jealous?!" Kifa fake gagged a bit. "Im not jealous. Why would I be?!" She growled shifting her paws in the dirt. Her eyes lifted to Amara she felt weird all the sudden, almost guilty. She was jealous of Amara wasn't she? Kifa turned away from Amara staring at the wall curling her tail around herself. "I don't really hate you or something I just hate you being here." Kifa's voice changed a little. "I want things to be the way they were. Everything has been ruined since you came. I just got used to things the way they were. Then you come with your cubs and....Kwea doesn't like me as much any more. Now I don't think he liked me all that much in the first place." Why was she saying all this, perhaps cause she really didn't have anyone else to talk to. "He never looked at me the same way he looks at you. I feel like I was someone to entertain him till he found someone better. Now Im nothing more then a slave that can sing for him and your cubs as well. No our goals are not the same. I'm trying to make a life around what Ive been handed and just when I felt ok it changed again. I just want to go home to my sister right now if this is how things will stay." Kifa's head fell a bit she felt a relief to say that out loud.

Amara gasped. Kifa wanted to leave? That was such a horrid thing to say, but Amara didn't want to give Kifa even more reason to hate her; she would keep quiet about this conversation. Kwea would be so hurt to know that Kifa did not want to be here.

"You bring Kwea joy in ways I never could, Kifa! You can sing, and you're so bright and lovely. I have never seen eyes such as yours! I am sure Kwea treasures you, Kifa." Amara spoke from her heart; she harbored no jealousy towards Kifa, but she did admire the other banu.

"Why must things be ruined? Kwea loves us all, I am sure of that, Kifa."

Kifa turned glaring at Amara through tears that had formed in her eyes. She moved to face Amara really just wanting to chase this female away from her.

"You don't get it do you? So what about those things!! They don't matter! He has never ever never, looked at me with the same tender and loving look that he gives you. You came here with him willingly did you not? You took his shelter cause you were...." Kifa stopped herself. "Did he ever tell you how I came to be here? Did he?! I did not come by choice. I have a family, I have a sister, I have a pride or should I say had. He took me away by force! I was simply minding my own business just out of my pride's lands. Then Kwea comes a long, I'm foolishly happy to see a new face till I realized he was looking at me like I was a gazelle. He beat me till I fell unconscious and he dragged me here. I spent many a day being slapped and nipped till I choose to make the most of it. And finally I learned to love him despite all this. Where I come from its one male to one female and that's how it was till you came along. I was finally happy and now he has been taken away from me and Im stuck taking care of you and your brats! And everyone seems to think I should be ok with it. Guess what I'm not!! Maybe Ill get used to it cause I have to but I will never be happy about it. He looks at me like a toy, a novelty for his self. You he loves so why should I have to stay here? I just want to go home and forget it all." Kifa panted she was so upset at this point. Everything was just pouring out. She shook her head and started to pace again. Kifa had never had to deal with any confrontation within her pride, everything was butterflies and rainbows. Why was everything so messed up here?

Amara had had enough of this lionesses ranting on and on about how terrible her life here was. "You should feel lucky to have a Pad like Kwea, Kifa. You could have done much worse for yourself, and I doubt you could have done better. Kwea is a gentle, caring Pad. He protects us, he is devoted to us, and you would do well to remember this."

Amara huffed, bordering on furious, which was strange for the usually mellow lioness. "A family in your old pride? A sister? That is your past now, Kifa. Your future is here and it is up to you to make the best of it. We are your family now whether you like it or not. You should accept what has been given to you and stop fighting to make things different!"

Kifaranga let out a loud growl unsheathing her claws. "Just cause you did worse and ended up knocked up without a mate, doesn't mean I would have. My pride had rules to keep a female safe and happy. Plus I could do what I want when I wanted! You just don't get it! Protects us? He attacked me Amara....but none of this matters, I love Kwea despite all these things, but I have a right to be upset. I was fine and happy before you and your brats got here!" Kifa started to move out of the den this was to close to becoming violent for her and she needed to leave. "Yes my mother, my father, my friends, my future, and most importantly my sister. I still feel my sister and I know she can feel me. I may be able to forget but not her. I will accept Kwea and the cubs as my family..but you, you will never be family of mine!" Kifa shouted before moving towards the cave door.

Amara wasn't shocked, really, at what Kifa had to say to her; she half-expected it. What she didn't expect, however, was how much it stung. Amara prided herself on her tolerance and likability, but this lioness had had issues with her from the beginning.

Fighting tears, Amara's mood shifted from borderline furious to instantaneous sadness. Did Kifa think she'd gotten pregnant on purpose? That she'd wanted that pregnancy? She didn't even KNOW who the lion was! That was all Sarai's doing, not Amara's.

"Do not judge me, Kifaranga. You are in no position to do so. I did not want those cubs in the beginning. I did not want them at all. My pregnancy was a burden until I met Kwea. He lifted that burden from me by bringing me here and giving me a safe place, and showing me that these cubs were not meant to be blamed for anything, but that they deserved love and affection."

She turned her back on the other lioness, unwilling to let her see the tears that flowed freely from her pale eyes. "You are my family. You, my cubs, and Kwea are all I have. I only hope in time you will come to realize it, and realize that I mean you no ill will, Kifa." Her voice was thick with emotion. That being said, she fell silent. Amara was done with the songbird and the conversation.

Kifa stopped in her tracks drooping a bit , she hadn't meant to take such a low blow at Amara. Kwea had told her the full story, but for some reason what Amara had said to her had felt like low blows as well. Kifa would never know what could have been.

Kifaranga turned to open her mouth to apologize, but it just wouldn't come out. She was to stubborn to look like the one at fault even though she was. She shook her head before dragging her paws out the den, maybe one day they could get along, but right now Kifa needed someone to take her frustrations out on and unfortunately Amara was it.
