Dumisha glanced up at the sun as she padded closer and closer to her goal. It had been a few days now since she'd hunted - sensing somehow that the male she sought was near. These lands ... they practically teemed with strength. Which was definitely something the golden-eyed female respected. And loved.
Returning her gaze to her path, those eyes widened. She could see him... up ahead of her. Finally ... finally, she had found the one who beat her before. Not THIS time!
With a roar, she charged at the male, rearing up and swiping at his head with a paw.

Mzimu'motokali had been patrolling on the borders, taking to his duties to his new pride with a certain tenacity that could be read in his very stance. The large male would bear no challengers to go untested, and no threat to the pride itself, no impish stranger, would get past his wary crimson gaze. So when she appeared, he'd noted her already...and yet had not expected that sudden charge the anger that had appeared in her eyes. Yes, they'd fought before, and he'd bested her...before he'd even come to this place...but that was no reason for animosity now was it?
Shifting so that his face would not bear the brunt of her wrath, those claws scored down a shoulder, and he stumbled back with a roar. Oh now she'd done it. Hindquarters tensed and he aimed for her chest with a snarl, much of his weight behind the quickly calculated blow.

Dumisha let out another roar - this time one of pain - as the male slammed into her, hard. It was something of a disadvantage that females didn't have that big thick mane on their chests. It meant that he got in rather a good blow ... but she shook him off and backed away a few steps.
Then she snarled and stalked in a small circle - looking for an opportunity to attack again. One came a few moments later, and she tried to pounce up and onto his back.

Watching as she bided her time, his lip curled in another low growl. She would not catch him unaware again, he swore that it would not be so. With a shift-eyed glance, he saw her posture change, and took quick steps backwards, pulling himself out of the way of that pounce so that she would fall short, and he would not be caught by her claws.
Waiting now, it was his turn to circle, pawsteps deliberate in the sands. Now now...this female was cunning, but she was angry, and if she made enough mistakes, then the fight would easily be his. 'Kali would not go soft on her simply because she was female, or for their past acquaintance...if acquaintance it could be called.

Said female didn't intend to lose this fight as she had the other, though. There was something in her personality ... that always made her strive to be the best. No matter what.
Growling in frustration when he moved out of the way of her pounce, she instantly sprung into another attack. He wanted to wait and see what she would do..? Well, she would do this. Darting to one side, and then back in again, she tried to get her teeth into one of his legs. Hurt him... and he wouldn't move so quickly again!

He had to commend her for that move, though he was certainly not proud of her for it when there was agony lancing along his foreleg. With a roar that was mostly frustration at his own inability to dodge her attack, he put even more distance between the two of them, eyes narrowing.
She had gotten better since last they'd dueled, and perhaps now she was truly worthy...worthy to become a part of this race of the most fearsome lions ever to walk the Savannah. He had to be far more wary...perhaps he had been taking her too lightly.

Encouraged by her successful attack, Dumisha growled softly and circled a bit more - edging closer to the male. Not so tough now was he...? She could tell that she had hurt him already, and he was probably ... afraid of her. Maybe.
"Scared?" she taunted, setting her feet and smirking at him. Then she sprang again, claws swiping for the opposite shoulder.

He rumbled softly, more amused by the lioness' taunt than anything else. It was almost a laugh that came with the sound, "No, but you are proving quite the opponent..." And he always enjoyed that, even with the scars and aches that came with a good battle, it helped improve him, hone his skills.
Refusing to let conversation get the better of him, he reared back on his forelegs, skidding back in order to keep away from her next attack. Only to bunch them once more and lash out with yet another attack, this one directed at the female's hip. It was clear she was just as capable as he, but he wished to test her yet again.

Dumisha echoed the male's laugh - though hers was clearly a laugh - and danced out of the way as he swiped at her hip. He'd gotten in one good shot there at the start, but that was all she was about to give him!
Backing up then, her golden eyes narrowed as she watched him ... trying to determine the best place to strike next.

She was agile, strong...and wondrously intelligent. He'd known all that already, but the lovely lass had increased her skills in the past months, and 'Kali had to admit that...yes, indeed...if she wanted to to remain in these lands, she had the right. He had summed her up, and he had to admit that he found her quite worthy indeed.
"You've gotten stronger, Dumisha..." He murmured, taking further steps back. "I see no reason...why you cannot pass me into the lands beyond, if you so wish." It did not hurt him to concede, she was his equal, easily matching him in combat. "But if it is your desire, we may spar again sometime..." He could see her being pleasant when she wasn't trying to carve into his flesh with her claws.

Dumisha blinked when the male suddenly backed off, and started talking to her. What ... was this? He was suddenly conceding the fight to her? That wasn't very fair! But still, her chest was aching where he'd gotten that hit in before. And ... he was offering to spar again.
So she just bobbed her head slightly. "If you say so ... though I want to know more about these lands, if you'll tell me," she replied, grinning. If there were other strong fighters like him here... she was definitely going to like it.
