Mozhgan woke up startled from her pleasant dream and a sad frown was still in place as the young cub stood up, finding herself alone in her family’s den. She had dreamed of the dark lioness again – one she’d never encountered before at the demon pride - and this time she was hunting a pale hare during daytime when she should've been sleeping. Perhaps she should name these dream characters that often occupied her mind and gave her the companionship she needed during the harsh times. The dreams were repetitive and insistent and she was beginning to feel like she knew each of the character that played a part in them. They were slowly becoming her friends – or the closest thing to a friend she could have at the moment – and yes, the cub decided she would name them. But on to more important things.
It had been a simple dream but the cub had a strange feeling of foreboding. She would make sure to find a good hideout instead of staying inside. Mozhgan made way to the mouth of the den as quietly as possible and looked around. The cub had been lucky enough with the last demon she’d found but she wasn’t one to tempt fate. She took a few tentative steps in the dark while making sure no one was watching her and then slowly moved away from the den.

Shababa came looking for Zadok, but Rhaen apparently sent him out to do chores. Shababa snorted and kicked a pebble. She wouldn't act disappointed in front of Rhaen - there was something about her, something Shababa couldn't put her paw on, that she liked about that red and black huntress - but deep down, she resented her for sending Zadok away on errands. Now what was she supposed to play with?
That was when she spotted Mozhgan coming out of her den. Shababa stopped to watch her for a moment as a smile slowly crept onto her face. "You must be the slave girl Rhaen told me about," Shababa announced to Moz before the cub had even seen her. She strutted up to the barf colored little slave and glared at her coldly. "Well? Aren't you going to address me? I am the Aran'shale's niece, you know."

Mozghan’s head turned so fast the pale cub heard something snap. It took but a glance at Shababa’s cold eyes to know that she was very different from the last demon she’d encountered... who, by the way, looked so much the demon in front of her that there was no chance the two weren’t related! Balia looked just like this girl but in yellow and had that electric yellow gaze that Mozi had so admired. They looked about the same age, too. Siblings most likely, the pale girl assumed.
“Evening, miss. I am Mozhgan, at your service. Is there something you require of me?” Mozhgan was learning. She knew her place, her status within the demon pride and she would try her best at being an obedient little slave if it would keep her in one piece. She tried to stand a little straighter but she couldn’t help but let her eyes stray towards the familiar markings.

Shababa's eyes were quite different from the eyes of other demons. There was no fire in them. Instead her dust covered eyes were filled with the essence of death. Even when she smiled her eyes showed no emotion. Her gaze was like that of a corpse come back to life.
This little slave clearly knew her place better than her brother. There was nothing quite as dull as a slave who knows her place, but Shababa would find something to do with her yet. "Yes. You're going to play a game with me."

Uh-oh. Mozhgan didn’t like games. Well, demon games that is. The little slave took the tiniest step back, fear briefly crossing her expression. She couldn’t tell what the demon girl was thinking but the smiled chilled Mozi to the bones.
“A… game?” It felt as if she’d had this exact conversation with her own demon brother not too long ago. “What kind of game?”
Mozhgan had a barely controllable urge to talk about Balia but she remained silent on that matter. For one, she wasn’t sure the sisters got along and, more importantly, Mozhgan didn’t think Balia would be pleased to know she’d used the electric-eyed demon’s name to get out of trouble.

Shababa's eyes glazed over. There was one game that made her claws tense and her fur prickle. Of course, it was against the rules of the pride. If Shababa respected anything - and luckily for Mozhgan, she did respect something - it was the pride order. In spite of that the sight of Mozhgan's soft flesh was too much to resist.
"We're going to play Inquisitor. I'll be the inquisitor and you'll be the criminal. I have to punish you for being a bad girl. That's the game." Shababa's voice was level, soft and terrifying.

Of course. It would have been foolish to expect the demon girl to come up with anything other than an excuse to hurt a slave like herself. But it was difficult to take it easily when the other was so clearly enjoying this and her voice was so revoltingly sweet.
“Alright, miss.” A part of Mozi told her that if she kept the demon girl talking, the cub would somehow bore her to death or maybe just tire her enough than she would lose interest in this “game”. And, of course, the longer she kept the demon girl talking, the longer she could postpone her punished. “In that case, what have I done? So I can answer the inquisitor’s questions properly...?”
Though she tried to keep a straight face and her emotion reined back, on the inside the cub was very close to panicking. She could almost – almost – convince herself she wasn’t scared but one look at the demon’s girl fierce gaze and her whole body shivered like a grass blade in the wind.
