This guy is turning 90 and has no family left. So believe it or not buy /k/ opened up its heart and is sending him stuff for a birthday bash.

It turns out he DOES have family, and the Wanted Poster was unclear, suggesting he was all alone.
The family was looking for local people to attend.
Or so says someone claiming to be his grandson on Reddit.

I already sent a card though, so I hope he has a great 90th birthday.

Well regardless, This guy is turning 90, that in itself is a feat. Hes a vet to boot and even if hes not alone why the hell shouldn't we wish him a happy birthday? Id wish a random stranger a happy birthday if it was in fact there birthday, anyhoo Id scan my card but Its already in the mail.

Damn, can't believe I didn't think to post this here. Yeah, I learned of it last night on /k/ and my letter went out today. Might be late, but that's okay. As soon as I saw the topic, I knew it was an awesome idea to put something together for the old guy. A lot of people are going all out on this, sending him all kinds of stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if this winds up on the news.

Under normal circumstances, I'd say there's an ulterior motive to this, but it seems /k/ is actually being genuine about it.

Still doesn't change my opinion of 4chan as a whole, though.
