Much easier than taking Spanish, I've noticed. And this's coming from someone who took 3 years of it. A lot of things are pretty funny. Like the number 555,555. Germans have a fun time spelling this word, because all of their written numbers are in one whole sentence. Or pronouncing it for that matter:

555,555
fünfhundertfünfundfünfzigfünftausendfünfhundertfünfundfünfzig
Or
fünfhundert fünf und fünfzig fünftausend fünfhundert fünf und fünfzig

Translations:
fünf = 5
und = and
fünfhundert = 500
fünftausend = 5,000
and fünfzig = 50

I picked up Spanish pretty quickly. Which is weird, considering the fact that German is supposedly closer to English than the other European languages.

German's pretty straightforward. And Spanish is just going all over the place.
