Have you tried the button on the top next to the "103%"? It has a rectangle on the left with two mini squares on top of each other on the right.

That's how you're viewing your documents/layouts. Try playing with that.

Otherwise I have no clue. :/

If you go to workspace> default workspace. everything should pop up fine.

you could also change the "essentials" thing to something else.
