Shaking out his pelt, the deep red newborn stumbled over his paws as he made his way out of the den he'd been born in. Periwinkle blue eyes glanced around, and his ear flicked as he stumbled out into the sunlight. Curious...This whole world was...curious. The cub's face was quite serious, despite his young age, and since the little one had been....gifted a Seer since birth...he was indeed quite...serious. But it didn't take more than three steps before Kusimamia'Utulivu had mistepped and fallen head over heels into the dirt, tumbling for a moment. Ow....that hurt. Tuli pawed tenderly at his ear, letting out a little sound of displeasure.
One of Te's ears flicked a bit at a small noise from outside the den. Typically, the demons slept during most of the day - only going out in the cooler darkness of late afternoon and night. Now, though, it seemed that one of his children had woken up and decided to go exploring. Yawning a bit, the large male stretched and shook his mane out. Better see who was up and about at this time of day.
A moment later, he poked his head out of the den and squinted at the sunlight. "Tuli... what're you doing up?" he rumbled then softly, padding over toward his son.
He looked up at his father with those passive blue eyes, tipping his head, "Looking. So different." Tuli spoke in short, clipped sentences, his pelt a bit dirty thanks to his tumble in the dusty ground. He slowly pulled himself back up onto his paws, silver mane flopping in his eyes, "Papa...why always so dark out?" He was used to the Demon's sleep schedule, but this...this was pretty. This light and everything was really nice. His tail flicked back and forth as he watched his larger father, a tiny smile crossing his mouth that didn't quite reach those pretty eyes.
Oh geez... Te really hoped these questions would be simple to answer, since he wanted to go back to sleep sometime soon. But well... couldn't deny a cub. So he smiled faintly and plopped down just behind the other - lifting a paw to ruffle that tiny mane a little. "Cause at night, the sun isn't up," he explained simply. "That big bright thing, there. Most of the demons don't like it ... so they hide from it." Of course, there -were- those who didn't mind the sun and they took the daylight hunting and guarding shifts. But most of the pride was only awake at night.
He blinked, and tipped his head as his father ruffled his mane. Laying close to the other, Tuli looked up at the sky. It was so pretty though..."Oh...But....Light....is nice." Nuzzling into his father's cheek, he let out a tiny purr, "See less in the bright, anyways." He murred, referring to his own Sight. He knew one of his other sibs was a Seer as well, but Tuli wasn't one for talking...
Te blinked at that, looking around a bit. See -less-..? What did that mean? "Uh ... don't you mean you can see more, now?" he asked, obviously confused.
He huffed, looking at his father with an irritated expression, almost exasperated, "No. See less." He said it in that 'REally?' tone that no cub should really take with its parents, "See less of the things that aren't here, but later." Oh, he'd realized what they were, and Tuli was supremely unhappy with the sense of Seeing. But...It was a part of who he was...so...what else could he do?
There was quite a bit more blinking at that and then Te -got- it. Things that aren't here but later gave him the clue he needed to figure out what his son was talking about. Oh gods. How ... in hell was he supposed to raise a cub who could See the future? Flattening ears for just a moment, he nodded then. "Well ... that uh ... makes sense I guess. But... Seeing things like that isn't always bad."
He huffed, ears flattening, "IS bad." Tuli snapped at his father, before laying his head on his paws, "But...Is part of Life. Will have to learn." He began to lick and groom his paws and pelt, getting the dirt out, with a bit of a face pulled. Ew....Dirt tasted really bad, "Learn to deal with." He looked at his father, and gave that same, strange smile. "Sleepy daddy?"
Te winced slightly at that tone, but he didn't do anything about it. After all, the kid had a right to an opinion. "Well, you're right about that. There's some things in life that y'just can't do anything about," he replied finally, shaking his head. He watched for a moment as the little one started grooming himself, then chuckled softly. "Yea, I am ... you're not?"
He shrugged, "Sleepy, but don't want to." He continued to lick at his paw, and let out another noise of discontent when he couldn't get to a spot on his back. Usually his mother would do this for him, but he wanted to try to do it for himself, since mother wasn't up yet. Though...he really liked being close to his father too. It was comforting to the Cub.
Te smiled faintly at that and moved to curl a paw about the other - helping him with that grooming. Gods, they were all just so -tiny-. There was a part of him that was almost afraid he'd break them... but he knew that was silly. "Well, maybe if you stay up for a bit you'll wanna sleep then... "
He cuddled close, purring happily at his father, "Yes. Play and sleepy." He said, nibbling on his dad's paw. He didn't mind it, at all. His tail flicked back and forth, and he thought about everything he had going now. He was already sure of his own future.
Te smiled at that and wiggled his toes a bit. "Play hmmn... what d'you want to play?" he asked, purring in return.
He nipped at his father's ear, and danced back, lowering into a crouch, grinning. This was one of the few times that the little cub would be truly happy. He loved playing. He was able to forget! "Papa...Play!" He grinned back at the larger, before running at him and nibbling on his paw again, and then danced back.
Te laughed softly at that and got up to his feet, tail lashing about a bit. Playfighting was -perfectly- fine with him, mmhm. He batted gently at his son, careful to keep claws sheathed as he did so.
He giggled as his father batted at him, and let out his own swipe, grinning. Tiny fangs showed as he nipped at his dad's chin, before darting back on swift little paws, tail lashing as he began watching strategy.
)Te laughed at that, ducking and dodging about. He didn't make things -too- difficult for the little one, but ... it wouldn't pay for this to be too easy either. He knew that it was always best to learn young. After all, he and his twin had both grown to be strong fighters and they'd 'played' like this countless times as cubs.
Missing his father spurred him on, and though he knew fighting wouldn't be a part of his life, it would come in handy, one day. Especially in this Pride. But he tired easily, and it wasn't long before the newborn let out a tiny yawn and plopped on his bottom.
Te smiled faintly at that and nuzzled at his son. "You'll get better..." he murmured softly - though he could tell that Tuli wasn't disappointed. Just tired... which was good, since maybe it meant he was about ready to go inside and go back to sleep.
He nodded at his father, and gently licked his cheek, purring low, "I know. Will be. Will not need though." He said this happily, and slowly pulled himself to his paws, trying to make his way to the cave, though he was too unsteadily. He fell into the dirt again, though, and let out a whimper. He was tired, very much so.
Te was curious about that little statement, but for the moment... "Whoa there..." he murmured softly, moving to pick the cub up gently in his jaws. Then he headed into the den, setting the little one down after a moment.
He let out a noise of surprise, but willingly let his father carry him into the den. He liked being carried. Tuli murred happily, nuzzling against Te's leg, "Can sleep with Father?" He asked, looking up at the larger male with wide blue eyes.
Te purred at that, flopping down and curling about the cub just a little. "Sure y'can," he murmured, licking the top of Tuli's head in an affectionate sort of way. "But ... what did you mean before? About not needing to fight, hmm?"
Tuli blinked, nuzzling into his father's side, "Will be helpful...but...will help fix fighting, not starting them. I will be Mediator." He purred at that, eagerly. He liked the idea of becoming a Mediator in the pride, and when he'd Seen it, it had been happy.
Te blinked slightly then grinned. Oh that would be good ... there weren't very many of those in the pride at the moment. "That's an awesome choice for a rank ... " he purred, nuzzling at the other a bit.
Tuli smiled, "Not a choice....Will be. Is what will be." He purred eagerly, "Sleeping will be quiet for once."
Aah, so that much be something else the cub had Seen. Still, it was good either way and Te rumbled happily, curling about his son. "Mmn... indeed," he murmured, yawning and allowed eyes to slip closed.
His own eyes slipped shut, and he licked at Te's nose, slowly drifting into a quiet sleep. A peaceful sleep devoid of the dreams that he often Saw in. His father's warmth and breathing comforted him greatly.
