Free Verse Poem: In Space
Black
The stars line the color, making it seem far less empty.
The fallen bring up hopes and wishes… But what good could come from a fallen wish?
To capture that star, that wish, that dream! That would truly bring happiness… But where do they fall?
One may swim an eternity in the cold dark universe. See many beautiful places, meet many wonderful people,
But who’s heart was touched by the shine?
Are they really out there?
Perhaps it’s true.
Maybe we only truly get one wish, one star in a sea of trillions.
I will be searching for you,
--- in Space.
I am a young star.
They say young stars shine the brightest,
But I have to wonder
Can you really see me?
In the stream of other young stars is my light blocked out?
Is my glow the same as everyone else’s?
When we cross paths, will our lights converge and explode,
Lighting the way for others to follow…
Or will our lights reflect and never touch?
I will shine brightly, just for you, keep searching for me
--In Space
Gravity
The strong pull forces stars down.
No matter how hard we shine or bright we may glow,
Our voices muffled by the great light of the planet.
Faster,
We fall, circling the globe hundreds of times.
We catch a glimpse, a short blip of each others light.
Then Impact.
We may be far, or only a few feet away.
Will we recognize each other now?
I will find you, you will find me
-- On Earth.
