It often takes me more than a day or two to finish a piece, mostly because they are so large, but also because I have a two year old running around the house as well. And sometimes..my muse likes to disappear on me for weeks at a time or has me sewing! But enjoy anyhow!
Critiques, comments and helpful hints help a lot! Thnx

A tribute to Tim Burton's Coraline. When finished, it will be very much in the same fashion as my wonderland piece below. Please excuse any fuzziness or darkness. I'm using a digital camera.

Ok, so that Coraline piece was never finished..but I did finish a few others within the last few days.

one thing to do is set aside a set amount of time each day to work on it. Like 10 - 15 minutes and as the progress happens the spark might come back sooner. :3

or watch a tim burton maraton biggrin maybe it'll all come flooding back to ya

lol yeah, I thought about doing that too, but if don't have the heart to put into it, it seems that it doesn't come out as well.
My son's actually on a Coraline kick, wanting to watch it over and over again which is how "Through the little door" came out. I don't know if I can watch it anymore yet alone draw anything else from it for awhile. lmao
I've just watched "The Nightmare Before Christmas" I'm kinda doodling with a Jack and Sally piece since yesterday.

The colored pieces are done in Prisma Colored pencils.
The others are done with mechanical pencils, a kneeded eraser and paper blending stubs.

Something like the Wonderland piece and the unfinished Coraline piece takes about a week.
The Coraline piece "Through the little door" Took about 6-7 hours of work. (through two days)

"Pan" took about 5-6 hours (through two days)

"The Pale Man" took about 5-6 hours of work. Had trouble with the hands more than anything with him.

So overall, most of my work takes 5-6 hours of work which take up to two days to finish. People usually take less time than that depending on the detail. (Posted in my member profile here in the guild)
I use sketch pads that are as large as 14x17 so the pictures themselves are actually a decent size. Most get hung in my art studio.
