The Celestrians have finally served their purpose, and as a result have ascended to the heavens above, as mortalkind no longer needs moral guardians."

"But this isn't completely true. I know this, and I'm sure you all know it too. For there are still many malevolent forces in the world that have yet to act. They remain under the ground, around the world, or even in the future, beyond our comprehension."

"Not all of the Celestrians are gone. Pavo is still here. And... I'm still here too."

"Is anyone out there?"

Alright. Now for an out of character explanation. The goal of this RP is essentially DQIX multiplayer in RP form. Since it is a forum RP, the players involved will be able to play their characters of choice alongside others, with more personality and personal flair then the game provides, should they want it.

That's the general idea. Here's where things get long and experimental.

Each person who has a DQIX character has their very own "World." Every person is responsible for what goes in in their own world. You could keep it simple and just play out Grotto busting or the game's story itself, or, if you are feeling creative, make up an original plot or series of plots that affect your world on it's own.
Or heck, you don't even have to elaborate. You could just ditch the concept and play in other people's established worlds.
And these characters can go to the worlds of other people in order to answer a call for help, explore, get thrown there randomly, and so on. Whatever you can come up with together.

I don't want anyone to post in this thread. If my idea takes off, this thread will serve as a central hub for character profiles and a thread timeline. Post separate threads that relate back to the general idea (I dunno, put DQIX RP in the title or something).
Each thread will be a different scenario that the thread's initial poster will provide. Who answers the call, what happens there, and how the stories come together is all up to you.

The rules for this RP are your basic yield:
arrow Follow the ToS.
arrow No Godmodding
arrow Keep all posts at a "PG-13" rating at the most. No explicit sexual content or extreme gore. Language is allowed in moderation.
arrow Use the best spelling you can. We've gotta understand you, after all. No textlk or l33tspeak (Unless you are joking, of course).
arrow These rules are subject to change as needed.

arrow PM all completed character templates to me directly. Do not post them here. This is to make sure all of the character profiles are in one place, instead of scattered around random threads where no one else can find them.
arrow Every person is limited to only ONE celestrian "main hero" per person. Obviously, since there is one per world (per game). You can have as many mortal characters as you want, though.
arrow You are not allowed to control anyone else's character unless you have their permission to do so. If someone isn't doing what you want them to do, too bad for you. Make it work.

Physical description: Around 4.5 feet tall. Short, messy brown hair. Dark brown, youthful-looking eyes. Has a body type befitting of a healthy young boy. He likes to dress as comfortably as he can outside of battle, preferring simple pants, shirts, and tunics. While in the fray, he dons a protective circlet and some light upper-body armor.

Personality: For the most part, what you would expect from a young boy. In essence, William is a warm, kind-hearted boy. He is smart and insightful, but rather naive, and can be very easily distracted or amused. He loves large, festive events and being around people in general. William is usually quite cheerful and always tries to do what he thinks is best for everyone. However, he can be slightly petty. He doesn't tend to hold grudges against people, but he always wants the best for himself too. It's only fair, as he would put it.

Bio/History: William was not reluctant to become a town guardian. He was very happy when Aquila chose him as an apprentice. But prior to that, he never saw himself as guardian material. He was initially not very confidant, but during his training, as well as the adventure that followed, his confidence grew, eventually culminating in his acceptance of becoming mortal for the sake of his world, not an easy decision for anyone to make, let alone a child. Since then, he has been very diligent as his world's sole guardian, with the mindset that if he and his companions can bring down Corvus, they can do anything. However, he is still prone to bouts of low self-esteem. Nothing like that has happened yet, but if he was ever faced with something larger then he could handle...

Place of origin: Um, a different Observatory.
Preferred Weapon Type(s): Bows, also Fans. She can use a sword but she is hilariously bad at it.
Class: Ranger, ex-minstrel.

Physical description: Eloria seems to be a young woman of indeterminate age, closer to 16 than older. But she's tall. Really tall for a woman, and she has bright red hair she keeps pulled up at all times. Her skin is tanned from wandering around both the wilderness and in towns. She wears modest clothes, and does not care if she appears messed every now and again.

Personality: Vivacious. Crazily so, at times. But she is sort of incomprehensible in a way... She doesn't act very 'mortal' most of the time, when she has been rendered so. Normal human behaviors often confuse her, and she confuses figures of speech easily. She has no comprehension of romance and generally just things everything is 'really really cool.'

Unless it's evil or threatens her mortal buddies. Then she'll defend them with the insane fervor of a fangirl zealot. Which brings us to the next point...

Bio/History:Eloria is a mortal fangirl. Ever since she was a very small celestrian she has been fascinated with the mortals. Why do they act how they do? What do they like to do for fun? What kind of cool things do they make? When she fell to the earth she was at first scared, but then secretly delighted because now she could talk to all the cool mortals and see what they're all about. She went on a journey of philanthropy on her way to find out what happened to the Starlight Express, the Fyggs, and the Observatory and made many new mortal friends along the way. She learned the failings of celestrians, and those of mortals on the ride... and now she has decided to run around as long as she can, defending the world from the nasty things emerging from the earth...

The once precocious guardian of Angel Falls has become the just-as-precocious guardian of the whole world, and she wouldn't have it any other way. In fact, if there was a way to help other worlds she would.

She likes helping. REALLY likes helping....

Other (optional): Eloria founded a mercenary co. with her friends, and although she will appear alone she will frequently Appear accompanied by one of her posse. She affectionately refer to them sometimes as 'The Fall Guys' due to them all being men and being based in Angel Falls. She does not see the pun of it at all.

Physical description: Hydro is 4"10 and has shortish brown hair. His eyes are bright blue and his skin very pale. He usually wears robes although is sometimes seen wearing light armour and casual wear.

Personality: Hydro is very quiet and usually sails alone, ignoring most people. However is actually very selfless and will always put himself in between someone trying to kill a friend or anyone really.

Bio/History: Hydro was born on a great ship and lived there till the age of six when the ship was sunk by the Gittish empire. Hydro was the soul survivor after falling into a small sail boat while backing away from a soldier. He grew up on his own, barely stepping on land, with the sea as his only friend. He joined up with a celestrian and a few others to take down the Gittish empire and later Corvus. The group disbanded shortly after and Hydro went back to a life at sea.

Physical Description: Laurent is a typical Minstrel, a frail looking man about 5'6" and 120 LBS who always has a gleam of hope in his eyes. The silver tiara he wears religiously implies he was of royal descent of sort as well as his shining purple waste length hair. To complete his perpetual regal Minstrel outfit, he wears a heavy cloak and a lightweight robe for battle. However, as frail as he seems, within his cloak lies a dagger, a spell book that he uses for defensive purposes. Usually when he reaches inside his cloak, it's to grab his flute to come up with a song to entertain villagers in the many villages that he travels to.

Personality: Laurent is naturally a generous young man, always thinking about others before himself, although he does know that there are people out in such a world who take advantage of his kind for their sole benefit, so he is cautious when it comes to taking up escort missions and other jobs people pay him for making sure he gets the money in advance. He greatly dislikes fighting and violence of sort and would rather just write and play songs for his passing life, but alas, such a world does not pay well for the peaceful folk, so he regretfully takes up arms to earn an extra bit of gold..

History: No one is certain about Laurent's mysterious past, some say he was a Prince of a fallen kingdom, others just say he is just a classy Minstrel who is only mysterious just for stage purposes. However, his pin point accuracy with his knives and his proficiency with magic makes the world agree that he wasn't a farmer's boy more or less raised in some house with class. His name quickly became popular when a young knight stumbled in the Quester's Rest and hired him, where tales of the Knight and his Minstrel ally quickly spread throughout the world. From small talks about the duo stopping a village raid, to international talk about the two declaring war on a resurrected evil Empire. After his journey with the knight, the two parted ways and now he is just a simple Minstrel traveling the world spreading his songs throughout the land.
