You probably mean states-side, but yeah, I agree, based on the attention the "Gen 5" threads are getting right now.
Doubt it'll be as big as the good ol' days, but at least it'll be something.

In all seriousness, though, I'm fine with them continuing the franchise, seeing as it's one of the company's most successful (and profitable). They seem to be making some strange design decisions, but interesting ones nonetheless. (Items in Wifi? It's either going to be an interesting addition, or total taboo.) Gen 5's metagame might just turn out to be one of the most interesting yet. Then again, it might also suck. Ignore the previous two sentences (and the parenthetical notes) if you don't play competitive Pokemon.

As far as the "main plot" goes, they seem to be sticking to the same old, same old. Then again, they also seem to be trying to spice it up (all-new Pokemon, slight changes to the basic plot structure of Pokemon, etc.) I haven't played it yet, so I can't really judge how well they're doing, but they at least seem to be making an effort to change the experience.

Also, when I say "they", I'm referring to Nintendo and Game Freak (in case that wasn't obvious already).

That seems to be everyone's major complaint. I don't know if I've heard anything bad about the game except "the new pokemon suk so i wont buy this game" [mistakes intentional].

A couple of years ago, I started a thread here to find people who actually play games other than freakin' Pokemon. I made a comment about how this should just be a Pokemon guild, as all of the members seem to be 12-15 years old and ONLY play/talk about POKEMON. Nitnit then tried to get smart with me.
Good times indeed.
