What exactly
is a du'a? Is it some kind of invocation or saying of protection, like a chant? Does it involve making a sign of some sort with your hands? *sweatdrops, can't help think of every time has seen people making the cross with their fingers*
um.. how do i put this..
it is the word of praying to Allah swt (our god) -
maybe it's similar to chant.
No specific hand sign is needed, but usually, we do like this when we want to recite our du'a @ do'a
universally, muslims will face toward Kaabah in Mecca, Arab (the center of the prayer), & say the words of prayer (that is du'a@do'a)
The words itself usually arabics, that contain the mean of needing protection, needing forgiveness, and so forth, solely to Allah swt. (After all, we are His servant, & servant will depend only on it's creator, isn't it?). But that does not mean we cannot use our mother language, after all, Allah swt is Knowledgeable.
Ideally, the du'a can be granted when our saying synchronise with our heart of believing only to Allah swt, no other else. Also, careful to say it right - arabic language can be tricky if the words wrongly pronounced.
another thing is, we do not du'a for destruction of another - including the devil - after all, devil is also one of Allah's creation. We can only stay protected from being indulge into devils' whisper.
The more we du'a, the more we trust Allah swt, & the more Allah swt blessed us.
sweatdrop sorry if i confused you. hope the rest can patch up or correct my statement
