Im having a Hard time choosing my fursona

Im smart loving honest pretty calm i keep to myself alot but i have two best friends and a wonderful boyfriend, doesnt care what people think, doesnt follow trends, i listen to rock and metal, and I like mythology. so what animal should i be im stuck i wish i could be something mythical with wings but i wonder if i have a cat persona or not.

yea the hard part is i would like to have something thats not popular like if i can avoid cats and wolfs i actually would cause it seems like alot of Furrys want to be cats and wolves and foxes

To add my 2 cents, a fursona to me is the animal you have most in common with, with natural instincts and hopes and such. (cold fingers make for blah typing) Stack on the mythological, as well as the fact hybrids are out all the time, you pick which inspire you most, what represents you something that you can look at smile take a deep breath and be happy with. Picking a fox for me was just me being logical and comparing attributes with, but beyond that it felt right to me reguardless of the scores of other foxxes, the fact there are so many others may annoy me, but thats like me walking around school getting annoyed other people have blonde hair or something like that which is truthfully silly. Be happy with who you are, never second guess it~ ^.^ With that I say good luck.

On a second note, I would have reccomended a Sphynx like creature from Egyptian mythos, but really a Pheonix Wolf mix sounds a lot cooler =P
Edit: upon reading your idea what came to mind was Gryphons, perhaps that might help you draw what you got in mind, black with purple sounds awesome~

i tried taking pieces from a lot of different canines to build my own breed.
tall, fast, clever, hunter, loner, ect. so i had a really messed up photoshop...

and then i found out the canine already existed in the wild with all the attributes i am. niffty stuff, when i doubt just take a good hard look at nature.
