Well i am writing this a little late seeing as i got back sunday, but opening season this year was INSANE. We got 13 birds between the eight of us this year on the first day, thats more than we have got the last two years combined on both days. And we also saw the largest flock on our hunting patch since 1960s according to the old timers. It had to have been over seventy birds that all came out in a span of 30 seconds.

In the patch just after the flock (which is the patch the flock flew into) near the end i had a s**t my pants moment too. The blockers scared up a deer and it ran into the field, straight towards me. It stopped not thrity feet in front of me and then it ran off in another direction thank god. We also got to see a white tail with a black coat too, and ironically my great uncle (doesnt go hunting with us) showed us an email later that night about black deer and they are apparently extremely rare, even more so than albino deer.

All and all it was a great opening weekend.
