Took me a total of $185 to make my sister's skunk cosplay, most expensive part was the pre-aerated elastic felt serving as the skin base. And a lot of the materials I already had on hand, so that actually saved some money, but altogether if I hadn't had them it might've taken $250 at the most for everything.

It all depends on materials, and complexity of craft design.

Well you also saved money because you werent having someone else do the labor. That probably saved you about $500+.

Cosplay's a force-of-habit word, sorry. But yeah, I compared prices with several different places, cheapest I saw for the same design I made (though not nearly as detailed or really that good, hence 'cheapest') was $900. Looks like I saved an arm, a leg, and a spleen on that one. My Shadow Guyver (actually a cosplay, lol) would've cost me $2500 with the heftiest bulk of it for the retracting arm-blades, but I did it for just $335.

So like I said, if you have the knack and know-how, you can save hundreds and just buy the materials and make it yourself.

If I had the money I would totally buy it, but I don't so I'll just settle for the cheap regular black kitty tail I got in a "Neko cosplay set" I grabbed on ebay for like...5bucks last Halloween . ninja

Besides that I'm still trying to get a Grey wolf tail from hot topic, but I can't till after christmas. >:c
