Hey do anyone know a remedy to help a shot voice. Solo and Ensemble in Choir is coming up and my voice is no good right now for sing. Anything that can help?

Hot honey drink usually does the trick. Take honey and dissolve in hot water, maybe with a painkiller/anti-inflamatory if that's part of the problem.

Gargling with salt water is a good one.

I always used honey in lemon tea, or just orange juice when my voice was going out.

When I was in the operatic society, I practically ate Thayer's Slippery Elm lozenges. You can usually find them at health food stores. They come in lots of flavours. Slippery Elm is my go-to throat herb. Stuff can work wonders.

Aside from that, avoid dairy before you need to perform. -Always- warm up before you perform. Drink lots of water, or tea. Lemon and honey can help.
