The Tales of Ty (Modmas Edition)

On this particular day, Ty had decided that she wanted to take a break from november madness, as it was leaking over into the first week of december. So once and for all, she waved goodbye to the past month, and promised that she would see it again next year, and would probably be doing the same thing. The holidays were now approaching, and she had other things to worry about. Like what on earth she was going to get for Farless as a gift, it seemed almost humanly impossible to get her something that she actually wanted.

Ty was strolling down the street, her hands in the pockets of her hoodie, when she saw signs and posters that read: "Wanted: people to fight against Gambino and save Modmas!" The girl tapped her nose thoughtfully, then shrugged and thought why not? At the moment, she didn't seem to have anything better to do. Besides, it could be fun. As long as she didn't get herself killed.

Tier 1 - Grunnies
These furry little creatures may seem cute at first, but don't let that fool you. They've been made specifically for attacking anything they see. They're ferocious and hungry, and they're only the beginning of things. . .

Ty slipped into her armor and grabbed her spectrobes sword, her lightsaber of sorts. She also put on her 3D glasses, so that she could see the void stuff. Ty didn't really know what that meant, but she had heard it from a friend, and it sounded cool. Maybe Gambino and his minions were surrounded with void stuff. She was about to walk out the door, but had this nagging feeling that she was forgetting something. Oh, of course! Her bunny rabbit! She snatched up her beloved stuffed animal by the arm and dragged him with her outside, to face the dangers.
Almost as soon as her front door closed behind her, something green and furry jumped out of nowhere, sailing for her head. She ducked just in time, and the creature crashed on her front porch, with a pitiful whine. She figured out after a few moments of staring, that it was a grunny. Maybe her stuffed animal had attracted him.

Then she rememberd that grunnies always traveled in packs... which meant that some others couldn't be far behind. Sure enough, Ty looked up to see a group of about ten more of the cute but evil little creatures. One ran up and tugged at her stuffed rabbit, and she yanked him out of its grip.
"No touchy." she hissed menacingly, raising her lightsaber-ish weapon.
The grunnies growled at the sight of the sword and flattened their ears. The next thing she knew, they were hurling themselves at her, all at the same time. Ty squeaked, lashing out protectively, and knocked a few away from her. Then she turned and fled, the pack of green rabbits hot on her trail. Peering over her shoulder, she could tell that the size of the group was definitively growing smaller.

Rounding a corner in her mad run, Ty realized that she had no clue where she was anymore. She didn't recognize the street, and much to her disappointment, there wasn't any void stuff in sight. She had been hoping that it would be able to guide her somehow. Looking down at her bunny rabbit, she could tell that the animal was having a rough trip with her sprint. So, she decided to turn around and fight. Running away had bought her a little time, just enough to ready her stance and her weapon as she stopped suddenly and spun on her heels.
The crowd of grunnies hit her like a wave. It surprised her so much that she lost her balance and toppled over underneath the small green feet. It took her a good three minutes to painfully get back up, breaking through the trampling. They were surprisingly strong for green little buggers. She staggered back to her feet, and faced the menacing line, her body already aching with bruises and small cuts. The grunnies had come back to form a circle surrounding her and her stuffed animal.

They attacked without warning, in no particular order, reason or rhyme. Ty held her sword in front of her face protectively, figuring defense, however little it was, would be the better choice. She hugged her rabbit to her side, nearly squeezing the fluff out of the poor animal.
The one thing she could feel the most was the small bites around her ankles, that really only tickled because the teeth couldn't get through her boots. A few grunnies jumped at her head, but she either ducked or parried, which only fended them off momentarily. One grunny came in contact with the laser blade, and its ear was sliced clear off. Ty wrinkled her nose in disgust.

The one-eared grunny wailed pitifully. Then, to Ty's horror, she felt her stuffed rabbit torn from her grip. She looked to see one of the grunnies running away with it, its fluffed foot caught between sharp teeth.
"Mr. Snuffles!" Ty hollered, and sprinted after the runaway grunny.
The rest of the group took up the chase, except they weren't chasing after the same thing. Ty grew very angry and determined to save her dear stuffed animal. She caught up with the grunny -unbelievably- sliced at him with her sword, and it dropped Mr. Snuffles. She snatched up the poor rabbit, threw it over her shoulder like a potato sack and twirled around, hitting grunnies everywhere in a blind and protective rage.
"Nobody touches Mr. Snuffles." she growled menacingly, swinging wildly at anything that moved.
She kept swinging until she realized they were all gone, or lying on the floor at her feet. The anger lifted instantly, and she almost collapsed in exhaustion. It was amazing what adrenaline could do.

Just as Ty was recovering from her mad rush, and checking herself for any injuries she might have overlooked. She saw a few dots of bluish red float before her eyes. Void stuff. Just to make sure, she took off her 3D glasses. Sure enough, the dots disappeared, but she saw them again when she put the glasses back on.
"See that, Mr. Snuffles?" Ty asked, fitting the glasses in front of her stuffed rabbit's eyes briefly, before replacing them on her own nose. "They are infected with void stuff."
That also meant that they weren't far, and they were coming. And chances were, whoever they were, they would want revenge for the dead grunnies lying in a circle around her. She heard the soft padding of feet, and looked left to see her ennemy rounding the corner. She groaned.
"More grunnies..." she sighed, standing her ground and readying her laser sword.
Several seconds later, she was noticing that the flow of green creatures coming around the corner still hadn't stopped. But they seemed to be swimming in void stuff. Ty wondered where they had soaked in so much of it. She clicked on a switch in her super duper sword, and it flashed blue and red, and nearly half of the grunny group fell to the floor, stunned. It was amazing how effective void stuff could be if you knew how to control it.

Ty laughed at her sudden power.
"Look at that, Mr. Snuffles! It was worth getting this lightsaber after all!"
There was void stuff everywhere, and she was the only one who could see it. It almost blinded her at times. It moved with the grunnies, but in a slightly slower motion, as if the movement could be captured and imprinted in the eye as it was happening. Sometimes the void stuff couldn't keep up with their grunny, and decided to follow another one instead. Either way, Ty couldn't keep up with which void stuff belonged to which grunny, because they all got terribly mixed up anyways. She raised her sword again triumphantly and pressed the magic button. The flash from the blade was more intense this time, and it blew out nearly the entire rest of the pack. Only a few grunnies were left, surprised to find their comrades blown away by some unseen force.

It didn't take long for the few grunnies left to recover from their initial surprise, and keep charging, with renewed determination. The void stuff swarmed around them, nearly choking them out of sight. Ty cackled delightedly.
"This is the easiest battle I've ever won!" she exclaimed, and pushed on the button for the third time.
Nothing happened.
She frowned and pushed the button again. Still nothing.
"What the..." she said, banging on the buttion repeatedly. "Oh, crap, I forgot. It needs to recharge after two uses."
She grumbled underneath her breath and glanced at her watch. It could take a while for it to recharge.

Ty ducked a grunny flying towards her head, and tried the button again. Still recharging. She didn't know how long it would take, but meanwhile she would have to find another way to fight her ennemy. She figured she would just go back to swinging wildly at anything that moved. But since there were only a few left, and she wasn't really aiming at anything in particular, they dodged the sword easily, weaving in and out of her attempts. Ty gave a scream of annoyed rage as the green monsters scratched her arms and legs, even snagging her cheek once. She didn't even notice until warm blood started trickling down her chin.
Looking at her stuffed animal, she could have sworn that Mr. Snuffles looked worried.

Ty grew tired of swinging, her arms were beginning to ache. This lightsaber wasn't the lightest weapon in the world. So instead, she decided it was time to use up the energy in her legs again. She turned around and ran down the street, her boots echoing loudly on the stone pavement. The grunnies followed close on her trail. Ty kept glancing at her watch every few steps, wondering how she would know when her sword was recharged. Maybe it would flash or beep, or both.
One grunny leaped and caught her at the knee in a tight bite. She yelled, in surprise and pain, and hopped around on her free leg, trying to bat the grunny away, while the other ones gained on them.

Ty shook her leg enough that the grunny lost grip. But another soon replaced it, biting into her elbow. As soon as she managed to get rid of that one another one jumped up and locked its teeth into her skin. It was seriously starting to hurt.
"Gaaaah!" she exclaimed in frustration. "Mr. Snuffles, I can't seem to shake them."
She pressed the button on her sword furiously, but it still hadn't recharged.
"Stupid lightsaber!" she hollered when two grunnies jumped up at the same time.

Finally, unbalanced by the weight of the grunnies (she thought there were probably all attached to her now), Ty toppled over. The void stuff went everywhere. She was probably infected with it now. She couldn't move her hand to swing her sword, and Mr. Snuffles was no longer in her grasp, and she couldn't see where he had landed. She struggled helplessly, while the grunnies seemed smugly satisfied that they had finally knocked her over.
