White fox, tails of valiance

[Py Aster]

Trias opened her eyes as she walked out of her humble abode in Barton's Towns. The Yuletide season was starting and, per her tradition, she changed her form from her usual male aspect to her female aspect. As she gazed out onto the snowy sky, a smile dawned on her face. It was the season of joy and hope; something that she felt so fond of. With a snowflake touching the apex of her narrow and short muzzle, she closed her eyes and sighed.
"Once again, the seasons have changed. Hope once again, of a new year of possibilities."

Deciding to bring only one katana instead of her usual two, hilted at her left side, she walked into Barton. Her ears perked as she heard the toils of the people, and the cheer about. She closed her eyes, grinning once again. "I'm glad to experience this event once again."
Walking down the lanes, she heard the call of something new. "Modmas.... Interesting...." She stopped in the middle of the road, her tails swaying lazily as she watched the people walk around. A new way to bring cheer....

As she walked on, she noticed a different shape in the middle of the road. A grunny, which seemed different from the normal ones she came across. The grunny looked at the fox for a moment and then ran for the square. Something's off about this one. I better follow and see what's going on.
Chasing after it, she arrived at the fountain. The grunny was waiting for her, poised to strike at her. I don't know what's going on, but I guess I'll find out soon enough!
With a battle cry, she quickly ran at the grunny, readying to draw her katana at the precise moment. Her battle for Modmas has begun

"HYA!!!!" Trias shouted out, in time with the exact moment of her strike. Her draw was just right; at the moment her foot hit the ground. Her blade had connected.
However, the attack had been perceived by the grunny. It jumped a few milliseconds before she had slashed. She had just grazed it by the right flank.
"Damn!" She shouted as she quickly jumped forward and spun around. She landed facing the grunny, body low and her feet sliding on the cobblestone. Her step produced a little wake in the slowly piling snow, with her katana's edge facing the white below. She looked at the grunny who was licking its wound. I hit it but it was just a nick.... I guess I'll have to be creative then.

Quickly, she kicked off her hind foot and dashed at her foe once again.

The white fox charged at her foe, which was anticipating her actions. Quickly she closed in, kicking up the snow behind her into the air, moving like a ninja with her body low and arms at her side. As she closed in, she lunged.
As she expected, the grunny moved. However, she caught the creature this time off-guard with the jump. Quickly, she brought her blade to cleave the side of the grunny below her as she passed on above. Gotcha!
She landed on one foot and jumped forward again, orienting herself to her foe midair by spinning. Time seemed to suspend as snow slowly fell around. As she landed, she saw the result of her gamble.

Her attack was unexpected, but her timing was off. Sadly, her attack grazed the side of the grunny even more. It seemed to look annoyed at her and quickly ran away. WHA-?!
She was seething inside, clenching her left fist as her fangs bared a bit, barely enough to show a snarl. D-damn you.... Quickly, the fox chased down the mutant rabbit, reminiscent of the timeless hunt. This time though, the fox wasn't looking for food; she was now looking to chase it down to figure out why it's here and what's going on.

Just as the grunny seemed to have the upper hand and escape, it turned into a street covered in a foot of snow. This was the opportunity Trias was looking for; her body was for the snow, and her feet acted as natural snow shoes.
Grinning, the female jumped onto the snow and closed the gap to the struggling grunny. With timing honed by natural instinct, she performed what was second nature to her.
Quickly, she jumped into the air and pounced, using her katana to stab at the grunny's back. The wailing of the grunny filled her ears as she flipped over, landing on her legs whilst flinging the grunny off of her katana. She then watched as the grunny was still falling, dashing once again after it through the streets of Barton.
Shouldn't be long now. Might be able to figure out what's going on soon, too....

With the grace of her animistic counterpart, she jumped up onto the rooftops. Her actions earlier were a bit too much; the grunny was still flying through the chilling air of winter.
"Time to finish this once and for all!" The fox lunged up into the air, aiming to intersect her path with the grunny. She readied her katana, changing her style to hold it back-hand. She watched the grunny carefully come closer to her. And then, she reacted.
The blow she delivered was to the head and her strike smashed the grunny into the pavement below. The grunny's landing made a "crater" in the snow.
Jumping onto a nearby roof from the grunny's landing site, she stared at the grunny closely, watching for any more resistance. She closed her eyes and offered a silent prayer. Her foe was finished.
