Marinette had been playing all day, pouncing things, chasing Jr. her new best friend, and of course, bothering the teacher Hakuna whom was now her "new mother" as far she and Jr. were concerned. Officially she still had to claim Roth as her parent, but didn't matter to the cub in the end.
She seemed to have lost Jr. somewhere along the lines as they adventured and now was looking around at a different part of the pridelands than she was used to. There was lion not too far away and she was debating if she should approach him or not. He was a dark, what she thought might be grey rather than a true black and had some red markings on his face. Compared to some of the members of the pride she had seen he looked down right friendly, but looks could be deceiving.
After a few minutes watching the lion and debating her approach, she decided to take the chance and approach the male. There were horrible things that could happen if she did something wrong, but oh well, that was every day in this pride. Marinette figured at this point whatever would be would be and worry about it later. She made sure to approach with confidence, her usual cheerful appearance toned down to take the hyper bounce out of her step. "Hello." It was a simple greeting, but it was also non-threatening/challenging. She continued it very carefully, sticking to polite and calmly pleasant. "I am Marinette. I do not believe we have met before."
