Hey, guys, I was just wondering, and didn't know if anybody's asked or where to put it, so it's going here...
How're Muslim weddings done? Are they really different from the Christian weddings, or are they similar in some respects?

Its different in cultural sense, but not in legal aspect. In both cases you're lawfully taking a spouse. xp
In muslim weddings the Maulvi (religious figure) asks for the consent of both the people invovled and makes them sign some papers as a legal formality. The rest of the things are just for the sake of celebration and Sunnah i.e celebrating marriage in a large crowd.

Oh, and what's "Taqwa" mean? it means closness 2 god (Allah swt) . god consciousness if u like... something that i have started to read up on. Allah is closer to u than your jugular vein (i think thats in your neck) salaams. biggrin
