Which do you prefer, but most importantly, why?

(such a hard question...) they both have pros and cons. in general manga is kinda annoying to read online but real books rock. anime is easier to access but is sometimes not as good. the art/animation is also important. anime has music and voices that helps with pronunciation and mood but u can't quite get the beauty of a draw page. i love anime but i'm gonna have to go with manga biggrin

Of course I love them both, but you get more of the story if you read the manga 3nodding

Manga's good to read, but anime is easier. And most of the time, the art is better than the manga's. But, the manga can get far ahead of the anime counterpart so it's a two way street.

It all depends. If the anime comes before the manga, then I choose the anime. If the manga before the anime, then the manga. neutral

HMm well I prefer the original work when it comes to series that have both manga and anime. (like Bleach Naruto etc) but I just love original animes and anime movies too. (like the stuff Ghibli makes and Neon genesis).

Hmmm, this is where I would place outlaw star into the mix...Both the manga, and the anime are amazing. Though with anime some of the characters(and some times the story) are altered a bit. Rosario+Vampire is a prime example....THE ANIME SUCKS A$$, It doesn't give them mood in which the manga gives off. I'd have to give my vote to both...which isn't in the poll option, so I decline to vote.

So hard to answer, but I'm going to go with manga...only because it's much more portable so I can read it at work during my breaks, on the train, etc. I love anime (and am starting to watch it a love more), but time tends to be an issue with me and that. I feel like I never really have time to just sit and watch an anime.
There are some series though where I specifically decided I wanted to watch instead of read. Usually those are more slice of life and comedy genres, so I can leave it on in the background and not get *too* lost in the series if I stop paying attention to it for a minute. Lucky Star is a good example of that, also Azumanga Daioh smile

It depends, probably the manga because you can imagine how they would be if the story was actually happening, whereas with Anime you can't really imagine what the character's ideal personality would be, for example their voice. Also, you can carry it anywhere and read whenever and you won't get dizzy as fast as when watching anime.
However, anime is quite fun to watch, especially when you've read the manga version, even though the manga is always better.
Oh yeah, and anime series are almost always really long and the manga takes so much quicker to read - I'm always really busy and I can never finish a whole anime series :/

I usually prefer Anime, I get more out of it watching than I do reading.
Manga, (which I voted for) because some animes are either not dubbed (subs irritate me, i like understanding what I watched) or are so badly dubbed it's not worth it (like DN Angel.)

I prefer manga because you gete the orginal story but the anime is much easer to get a hold off.

RelaRenee Of course I love them both, but you get more of the story if you read the manga 3nodding But the flip side to that is sometimes the anime gets cut down right to where it needs to be, like Trigun, or outlaw star.
