Welcome to Haven! This is a herd meant for all those who have lost their way. For those whom have no home. And for those seeking peace and love, for that is what this family has to offer.

PLEASE DO NOT post in this thread, at least for the time being. Herd RPs will most likely be hosted in the canon/ic rp zone.

♥ In this herd, the members are strongly devoted to the idea of a loving family--no one with a good heart is left out and all types of Soquili are accepted.

♥ No rude behavior will be tolerated. If you are caught demonstrating unruly behavior towards other members, friends, allies, or other respected beings, you will be swiftly dealt with by either Kanani or Crisanto.

♥ This is a peace-loving herd. No evil Soquili or those with less-than-worthy intentions will be allowed to join and will quickly become enemies if they dare mess with any herd members. Those with a small amount of questionable blood but a peaceful mindset may still be allowed to join if the alpha or protector judge them to be of true purpose.

♥ Haven has a strong bond with nature. In fact, most of the herd lands are situated within the forest. Future members must be able to accept living under the canopy of a forest and not on the open plains. Those who are abusive to nature or have no love for other living organisms will not find a place in this herd.

This is the main meeting ground of Haven. Kanani and Crisanto can be found here most of the time, watching over the other herd members or deciding upon important issues. This is the center of the herd lands, and is relatively safe because of the surrounding forests. The stream that runs through the territory is fairly shallow and soft-running in this place, and clear as crystal. The glade provides soft grasses for soon-to-be mothers or those who are caring for young foals. Foals are kept strictly in this place until they reach an older age, for their parents can keep a watchful eye on them and yet let them explore the peaceful landscape. Meetings and rituals are also held here unless specified to be in a different place. It is also the place where the herd beds down at night, protected on all sides by large trees and the watchful eyes of the alphas.



Most of the herd territory is composed of peaceful hardwood forests, intermingling with varied pinewoods as the territory nears the mountains. The ground is sturdy underfoot and covered by soft grass, fallen leaves, or light underbrush. Most members can find a place to call their own and find privacy in various parts of the forest.

Farther north, as the territory nears the mountains, the rocks around the stream grow larger and more moss-ridden. The trees are denser and there is more underbrush, but the air is clear and healthy for the lungs. This area can be dangerous for younger Soquili if they are not experienced with difficult terrains, but is a favorite of those with a more adventurous side. For the nimble-footed, the rocky stream can be an exhilarating way to exercise.
However, because most of the herd avoids this area, it is an easy area for potential enemies to enter the herd territory. The protector must patrol this area often, or at least send a younger guard to scout out potential weak spots.


To the south, there lays a landscape void of forest but dotted with smaller copses of trees. The grasses are extraordinarily green here and softly rolling hills cover the meadows. The stream that flows through the woods empties into these plains and snakes its way out of the herd territory, all the way to the sea.

In the very north of the territory, the forest ends and the mountains begin. However, the herd does not pass into the mountains, and only traverses the flower-covered fields below. This is a good place for older foals to play under the watchful eyes of a guardian, and there is a small lake for swimming.

The Celebration of Summer

♥ On the night of the Summer Solstice, the herd gathers to celebrate the coming of warmth and beauty. They gather tender fruits and sprouts from the spring season and lay them in a banquet-like style in the main gathering spot of Haven. Colorful flowers are gathered by the younger members and arranged in random yet beautiful patterns around the gathered nourishment. The herd shares the gathered food and gives thanks to the spirits for having survived another winter without incident and for the blessing of tender food from the warm spring. They also share news of any current engagements in the herd or pregnancies that may have occurred. After the feasting, older members may tell stories or sing songs. The younger members are encouraged to join in as time passes, or can play other games among themselves. To conclude the celebrations, the members give thanks to eachother and wish one another to have a happy year.

♥ The Winter Solstice is celebrated by the gathering of pines branches and holly leaves, which are used to decorate the gathering area of Haven. Preparations are made for the winter months ahead, but many of the members enjoy spending time together and telling stories. Gifts are exchanged between friends, family, and lovers.

EVENTS

Strange and gloomy events are starting to envelop the herd, but with sorrow comes the light.
After Kanani had her second batch of foals, the herd was attacked by an agent of the Kalona Demon, named Ominos. Demon is the Kalona who stole away Liella's daughter Cherish, and is now building an army to ensure that no one can steal her back. It wasn't as if Liella was looking to attack him or anything, but now her life and that of her friends may be in danger. While on a walk in the northern territory, Kana, Kama, and Liella were attacked by Ominos, who recognized Liella from the similarities to her daughter and the stories Demon told him. He wanted to capture her and take her to Demon, but failed and retreated. However, the location of the herd is now known and extra protection measures must be made.

Meanwhile, Kristan is developing a relationship with a foal from a different herd, who, consequently, was attacked by Demon himself. Demon wanted to force her parents to fight for his army, but was foiled and sent away. However, this will not stop him from trying again, and he will soon learn about the location of Kanani's herd. Thus, the Miakoda herd and Haven are tied into the same events.

Kanani and Crisanto will soon be forging an alliance with Sengdroma and Maion. While the alliance may ensure extra protection and knowledge, the enemies that stalk the Miakoda herd may also find the desire to attack the Miakoda's ally.

INTERESTED IN JOINING?

♥ Once again, I would like to remind you that no evil Soquili or those with evil intentions will allowed to join the herd. This herd is for peaceful members only. However, if your Soquili possesses small traits of violent breeds (such as Kalona horns or fangs or a small mutant trait) but is of worthy attitude and intentions, they will still be able to join after consulting either the herd alpha or protector.

♥ The herd is open to all types of peace-loving and family-oriented Soquili. However, the Soquili must be willing to obey their leaders and do what is best for the herd despite their own feelings. Their output will always be considered, and advice will be listened to, but only if it is reasonable and beneficial to the herd. Loyalty is expected, and love will be received.

♥ A Soquili may leave the herd at any time if they wish, or they can become an honorary member so that they will be able to return when they wish.

♥ OOC--If you join the herd, please be prepared for plotting and some RP. It will most likely be more background plot than anything else, but there is already something in the works and it would be nice for the other members to follow along. Of course, all other input will be considered and loved.

♥ If you wish to join, please PM your request to the mule. Include a picture of your Soquili, a bit of their personality, and why they want to join. You can also explain how they would come to the herd, for RP may not be provided for every initiation. Aniira or Kiro will be checking the mule and will get back to you ASAP. Once your Soquili is accepted they will be added to the list.
