Aiko did so enjoy knowing most of the pride. She liked that her name was well known, well, in a way. Nanashi disapproved of course, but he would disapprove of anything fun so she cared little for his opinion. His trying to pin her daughter into his mindset was something she would deal with the moment Satomei became unahppy with it, most likely be screeching at her brother until his ears bled. Or clawing at him until his ears bled, among other things. But for now she was in a decent mood. And with some free time on her paws, she had decided to investigate some of the newer arrivals she’d heard of. Who knew, perhaps she could find someone fun amongst them.

Purring softly to herself, the dark cheetahess padded lithely through the tunnels. The newcomers, as she had heard it, had been mainly slaves and grunts. A pair of lion cubs, poor dears, and a few other felines would be about down here. Well, down here somewhere. Ears pricked forward with curiousity, the geisha peered around the dark spaces. She could smell someone…familiar? Somehow. But how did she know this scent? Memories blurred to be honest, and she did not know which of them fell into place with this oddly familiar sensation…

Perhaps when she found the owner of the scent she would remember. He must be around here somewhere nearby…

User Image Her nose would lead her down a cold, dark tunnel, past the huddling cubs and other newcomers. At the end of this tunnel, back firmly against the wall, crouched a ball of shadows with glaring ruby eyes.

Two days without sleep. Sleeplessness did not usually come to Wey, for he always slept safely off the ground. Yet he now found himself imprisoned underground with strange felines of all ages and species, hence his sleeplessness. The air inside this crater smelled toxic, like deceit. Maybe it was the aura of blood and sex that seemed to permeate through the pride, if it could be called a pride. Wey never heard of a pride where cheetahs and leopards (but mostly cheetahs) ruled over lions and other beasties. Now blood and sex were not bad in and of themselves. The fact that he found himself in a pride - or perhaps a better term would be mob - soaked in blood and sex made his fur stand on end. All animals were wicked, but this lot was wickeder than most, so Wey kept his claws out.

Although Aiko could smell him the tunnel's stagnant air prevented him from smelling her. This was ironic, for it was her scent that led him to this awful place. At the sound of soft cheetah footsteps he rose, tail bristling with animosity so strong that at first it blinded him. The cheetahs were the head honchos around here, he knew that much, and it boiled his blood to submit to their kind (he did not hate cheetahs before, but being under their paws stirred his resentment for the species). "You looking for a fight?" he growled eagerly.

Of average size for a leopard, the nomad's life blessed him with not only strength and cunning but ruthlessness as well. Despite his fatigue he shuddered at the opportunity to lash back at his captors.

Nearby indeed. Aiko paused at the eager agression the male growled to her. A fight? Not hardly. She could hold her own well enough, sure, but looking for a fight? That was just silly. Or stupid. Or foolhardy. Or...well. Generally not smart. Scarring would mar her looks after all. She did not want that.

"A fight? Me? Of course not," she laughed lightly, letting her steps carry her a bit closer, close enough to be more easily seen, but not quite close enough to be within range of an angry swipe or three. No scars for her, thank you. And no fighting either, she was hardly in the mood for such things. But the leopard... oh he was familiar. Why was he familiar? Well to be blunt there were likely lots of males that would seem 'familiar' to the cheetahess, but there it was about this one.

Her head cocked slightly to one side, his scent firmly in her nose now, and again, familiar. Like she'd met him before. The stagnant air of the deeper parts of the pride no longer bothered her, as she'd lived quite a while within it now. It was simple enough to sort through with experience, but her memories...were another matter. Maybe it was the constant press of her visions that prowled through the back of her mind that did it. It was hard to remember things when other not-memories scattered through the true ones... "Do I know you?" Aiko asked finally. It was so hard to tell... and most of what she could see was a pair of red eyes, likely her purple eyes were most of what he could see too. Perhaps a walk to where it was lighter..?
