Saharan hadn't taken the second defeat well, but she'd become less upset about it as the week wore on. Her intellectual side was content to go over the fight again and again, right down to her final mistake that'd cost her the fight, but in a purely analytical light. She ran her mind over the fight probably a hundred times, trying to think of what she'd done wrong and how to avoid that the next time.
Naur still hadn't spoken to her, and his looks had been equally conflicted in their latter duel. But he'd come back, and let her try again. She had a suspicion that he wanted her to succeed, if only for some personal reason. Well, she'd been training again. The desert wasn't about to defeat her, and even if she had to try time and again she would. Sooner or later she'd come out on top, and have earned her place in the pride, and hopefully his heart.
The scuffs and scratches she'd gotten had healed nicely, and she found herself back in the same spot once more. Perhaps feeling confident, she called out, "Come out then Naur! Let's get this started!" It was the first thing she'd said to him almost, since her return to the desert. She immediately both regretted and relished it. It was good to show her preparedness, but she'd wished her first words to him again had been more...romantic? Maybe in a dream world they'd have been. But just better than a shout out.
