Ajani jumped from one rock to another. He was looking for a nice smooth, flat one that he could rest on. After working all day he decided he needed a nice break and laying on a rock, soaking up the sun, seemed to be the best way. After finding the perfect rock he aloud himself to rest on it. Now that was more like it. Why couldn't there be a job in the pride like this?
As he rested he looked around the pride. It had been some time since he joined the pride, though he was still getting used to it. So much had changed over the last few days and he wasn't getting used to it yet. It was weird having so many lovely cheetahess around. When he watched them he felt like he was cheating on his old love. It caused him to be cautious around them.
He let out a sighed. Sometimes he wished he could just forget about her and move on with his life. He knew he would never see his love again and even if he did she would have moved on. So he should to.

N'gombe slipped silently along the edge of the river, her pale and tan pelt helping to camouflage her in the reedy grass. She knew very well she should not be out away from Noir's den, that if she was caught there would be a price to pay, but she was willing to pay it fro just a few minutes outside.
She moved with a unconscious grace, every step elegant and dainty, though she was not aware of it in the least. The cheetahess was not aware of many things about herself, she'd been sheltered as an only cub, and truly was naive. Not innocent, not Noir had taken that, but naive, yes.
Seeing a comfortable looking rock, she bounded up to it so distracted by her inner thoughts she did not notice it was already occupied. " Oh! Excusez-moi, I..I did not know this spot was taken." She lowered the beauty of her moon born eyes, and tried to back away, the filegree collar around her neck, and the cuffs at her ankles catching the sunlight. Though she had only met the male's gaze for a second, the fear in her own had been easily seen.

Ajani was startled when he heard the cheetahess speak. He had been lost in his own world. "You can sit here as well. There is plenty of room." He said with a grin. He shift his body over making some room on the rock. As he looked at her he saw the fear in her eyes. "Don't be scared of me. I'm pretty sure I am one of the most harmless cheetahs in this pride. That and almost everyone can beat me up." He smiled as he looked at her, trying to be comforting.
He tried to remember if he had seen her before. Lately he had been trying to meet everyone in the pride. "I don't think we have meet. My name is Ajani and I am an entertainer." He hoped that he wouldn't scare the cheetahess off or annoy her. He liked having company.

N'gombe swallowed, backing up another step, " It is not you who I fear Mousier, it is..it is my owner..Noir. He takes exception when I am out of the den."
She kept her head bowed, the graceful arch of her neck showing as she hesitated in just turning tail and fleeing, but the male seemed kind and she was very lonely.
" A..a entertainer?" N'gombe asked softly, " you are one of them? Vous ĂȘtes l'un des plus beaux .. ah, quelle chance pour vous." She whispered, sitting down.
" I..I thought only females were such, non?"

Ajani had heard of Noir and Bugie, though he had never met him personally. "I am sure he will forgive you. After all how could he stay mad at such a pretty cheetahess?" He said with a grin. He hoped that it was okay to complement her and hoped she wouldn't take it the wrong way. He knew not to flirt with members girls, however he figured a compliment really didn't count as flirting.
When she started speaking another language he tilted his head. He had never heard anyone speak like that before. It sounded like gibberish to him. "What language is that?" He asked curiously before answering her question.
"I thought entertainers were only female too. When I came here I decided that it would be fun to try it. It is a lot more work than I thought it would be. The other entertainers make it look so easy," he said, thinking about all the talented entertainers.

It didn't seem as if it were possible, but the blush that had dusted her muzzle became darker as she dropped her gaze demurely at his compliment. " You are very kind mousier, but Noir...his temper can be very uncertain at times." She bit her lip, clearly torn between being very afraid of her Star-Born Prince, and deeply in love with him.
N'gombe tilted her head at him, a true, genuine smile coming to her, lighting her moon colored eyes, making them truly, innocently, beautiful. " It is the language of my mother. I thought it was just she and I who spoke it...but I met another the other day who did, a male..not from here." The last was said very softly, almost wistfully.
His voice brought her attention back and she favored him with another smile, " They are all so lovely, I watch them from the den. So graceful. I wish I was as beautiful as they. Perhaps Noir would want me...want to keep me...if I were."
She shook the thought off and without thinking laid a paw on the young male's shoulder, the tone of her voice encouraging, " I am sure you will make a fine entertainer, you are young and handsome, you must only practice..Oui?"

Ajani hoped that Noir wouldn't get mad at her. If worse came to worse he could always say that it was his fault that she left his den. He hoped that it wouldn't come to that. It wouldn't be that hard for Noir, or anyone else in the pride, to beat him up. For now he would hope that everything between them would end up alright.
When she spoke quietly he tilted his head closer to hear. "Do you think you could teach me some words? The language sounds really interesting." Ajani said. He wondered about the male who also spoke the language, but he decided that it was best for him to not ask too many questions.
"Maybe when I get better at dancing I could teach you a couple of the dances. I am sure Noir would like that." Ajani said with a smile. "It might take a while. I am sorta clumsy." He let out a small, slightly embarrassed chuckle. He was improving, he reminded himself.

N'gombe gifted him with another smile, her whole expression lighting. " Oui, I will be happy to teach you some words. Maybe we may trade? I teach you a phrase, and you teach me a step? Oui?"
The delicate female seemed very delighted with the idea, certainly with the part where she might learn a little bit of the entertainer's trade.
" You are not clumsy, I've seen you..sometimes I watch, from the den. I can see you all practice in the little clearing with the river and stone wall. You look like you can float, like you have no bones. I wish I had such grace." Her tone turned wistful again.
" Will you trade? Language for dance?"

Ajani grinned at N'gombe. He didn't even need to consider the trade. "It sounds like a fair trade. I will have to warn you that I might be a slow learner." It made him happy to see her joyful about the idea.
He knew that it would also help him perfect some of his dances as well. If he improved enough maybe he could show off for his mother and maybe some of the entertainers. "Would you like me to teach you some steps first or would you like to teach me some phrases first?"

N'gombe gave him another sweet, soft, smile. She truly liked this young male, he wasn't like the other she had met here, somehow he still seemed so...kind, without the hardness the others showed.
" I will show you a phrase for a step, oui? We can start with a basic greeting, Bonjour, comment allez-vous." She pronounce it syllable carefully, making sure he could follow her.
" It mean, Hello, how are you?" N'gombe sat down her tail curling over her front paws elegantly, her voice a warm tone as she began to relax, and not jump at shadows.

"Benjar, commun ali-vu." Ajani said, completely butchering the language. He giggled after he said it. "That wasn't right, was it. Let me try it again. Benjar, comment allez-vous" He said getting it a little closer. "Bonjour, comment allez-vous. Was that it?"
He stood up. "Why don't I show you how to twirl?" After making sure he had enough room, Ajani did a quick twirl. He kept most of his weight on his right side to make sure the twirl turned out properly. He came to a stop once he was facing N'gombe. "I suggest when you do it to keep most of your weight to one side."

N'gombe laughed, the sound like bird song. She had a lovely voice, it seemed like it had been made to laugh. " Oui that was it Ajani. Tre bein, very good."
Her moon born eyes watched him twirl, paying close attention to how he moved, and even closer to his instructions. Nodding, and with a little frown on her muzzle, N'gombe gave it a try.
Her first try, she looked more like she was chasing her tail, her second she was slightly off balance, so for her third, but by her fourth and fifth try, she had it, and that inborn grace she had always carried shone forth.
She look like she floated through the move, balanced and posed. Smiling up an Ajani, feeling a little dizzy, she gave him a dazzling smile, " Was that it mousier? Did I do it right?"

Ajani smiled as she spun. He found her her first attempt very cute. She was proving a quicker learner than he was. His first attempt he ended up spinning to fast and falling on the ground, face first. On her fourth spin, his smile increased when she did the twirl with grace. "That was beautiful N'gombe! Tri ben!" He said trying to repeat the phrase she said to him. "I am sure that Noir will be impressed by it. I know I am."
"Now if you want to improve you have to practice at least once a day. Practice makes perfect. It won't be long until you have all sorts of different dances down." He instructed. It was fun to be the teacher for once instead of the student. He just hoped he was doing a good job at it.

N'gombe clapped her front paws together, her smile infectious as she laughed, " Oh Mousier Ajani, you said that so well! I am as impressed as you are!" Her pale eyes sparkled and she laid her paw against his shoulder.
" Merci Ajani, for your instruction, and more for you company. I must be getting back to the den. If I am not there when Noir returns...it is...it is not good." Her smile faltered for a moment, before it returned, perhaps a bit dimmer.
" I will find you again, Oui? and we can trade more lessons."

Ajani felt his cheeks start to warm up. "Thank you N'gombe." He said with a grin. "I do not want you to get in trouble so I will let you go." He saw her expression change for a moment and he did not want her to get in trouble.
"I will keep my eyes open for you so we can meet up again. This has been an amazing experience for me and I am glad that I could make a new friend." He spoke full of glee. He was already getting excited for their next meeting. Hopefully it wouldn't be too long, he thought.
