Hm, he doesn't look like he's that happy. Or maybe he is, and he doesn't know how to show it. Or maybe he's a dirty liar and only wants you to think he's sad. How should I know?
It's your job to tell me what his deal is. You may write as much or as little as you like, but keep in mind that creativity is key!
All entries must be posted before them, or they will not count! Even if I'm not officially around to close this little contest.
His edits are NOT inheritable.
You may not gift him if you win.
None of these have to be very long.GIVE ME A REASON TO LIVE! Name: Meaning:

GIVE ME A REASON TO LIVE! Name: Kokanya Meaning: Set fire to the rain (Two swahili words mashed together)
Personality: Kokanya is a p***k, plain and simple, he's sadistic. He believes that anything he lays eyes on in Africa is his for the taking if he wants it. "That necklace you're wearing looks pretty nice, it could really cheer me up, may I have it?" Greedy.
One thing in particular he can't resist are the ladies. He pretends to be harmed, or very sad in order to get their attention, and if they're not going to come with him willingly, he'll take what he wants by force.
There are no real redeeming qualities too him, except perhaps his acting skills, but who's going to compliment them because of his dastardly deeds?
History: Kokanya was a single child to a doting mother and father that gave him everything he could possible want, he could wave a paw and they would grant his demands, after all he was their only child; they had to spoil him. The "pouty face" as a child worked like a charm with them, and it continued to work for him later in life.
As he grew older he started to expect this of others, he waved a paw and they would hand over what he wanted.
His first real conquest was over Jedi (one of my lionesses, who was raped along time ago, figured he could've been the long time ago), the female he ran into was very young and resisted his charms..and the pouty face had no effect so he took what he wanted. Resulting in Antigone. This event was a major confidence boost leading to later events.
Future plans: He's continued going about Africa to different places being a general a** to anyone that doesn't succumb to his 'charm'. I would look for plots for him to be mean and hateful to other animals. Prides wise: He might fit in with the harem pride; U'W, taking ladies against their will to add to his group. If they would allow it he may fit into the Storm borne, going a viking and taking the things he wants. I think it would be neat to find a larger male that could toss him down a peg, and really make him angry. http://s.cdn.gaiaonline.com/images/template/button/submit_submit.gif

GIVE ME A REASON TO LIVE!Name: Wanda Meaning: Plain (No, seriously, it means Plain in Swahili xd Scroll a bit!)
Personality: A very plain lion, Wanda has few likes, and few dislikes. he just... Exists. he has plenty of fears, though. Hypocondriac might be a good term for him.
History: Wanda had a very ordinary cubhood, with a very ordinary family, in a very ordinary pride. So he left under very ordinary circumstances as an adolescent, like every other male in his pride. And then discovered the big, wide, world and the scary things it held, before saying hello to the wrong lion.
Future plans: I want him to fly over the rainbows and spread his message of fail! Especially by being somebody's slave. VERY likely a Thrall in the Viking pride. In fact, yes, a Viking Thrall.

GIVE ME A REASON TO LIVE! Name: Gaius Meaning: Person of Earth
Personality: Gaius is a pretty strange guy. When he is happy, is expressed his emotions as though if they were sad. If he were sad, a smile would remain placed upon his lips. Same thing goes for danger. While he normally walked around with his claws unsheathed, as if ready to battle, when a threat come, his claws hide amongst the furry toes.
History: As a cub, everyone thought it was cute that Gaius had mixed up his facial expressions with his actual emotions. They always believed it was just a joke the youngster cub pulled off. However, as he grew older, the 'cuteness' faded. Soon, Gai was getting into trouble, not meaning too, but it happened. When the pride would get together for events (birth of a child), Gaius would hold a frown.
When a rival lion threatened the throne, Gaius held a smile, though inside he was sad, scared for the current ruler. Although the rival lion had lost, the ruler caught wind of Gaius' 'enjoyment' for a new leader, and banished him from the pride.
Future plans: Gaius will probably always roam the roguelands in search of someone who understands his dilemna. It would be very amusing if he could find someone who suffered from the same confusion as he does, so they can become sad-happy buddybuddies~!

GIVE ME A REASON TO LIVE! Name: Saffier Rok Meaning: "Sapphire Coat" in African
Personality: In the past Saffier Rok was a con man. He was sneaky, cunning, and couldn't be trusted by those who were already tricked into his schemes and games. But towards others, Saffier plastered on a fake smile and upped his charming ways, luring females to do his bidding since they were easy game. But due to a experience in his recent history, Saffier's "evil" spirit had been broken and he now wanders the lands looking to the ground and lost in thought. Wondering what to do with his life next. He wants to change his bad habits and become a whole new lion, but he admits he's going to need some help doing so. Overall he's a bit anti-social with his current dilemma but has no problem turning on the charms if need be.
History: As a cubbin, Saffier Rok was doted upon by his mother who adored him for his beautiful cerulean to sapphire hair and groomed him daily to keep it sparkling and clean. He was basically spoiled, being the only cub who was born to his mother from a rogue mating and was considered her shining jewel in the lands. Because of all this affection, Saffier adored it all as a cub and soon enough became quite a brat, demanding that he be treated like a prince from anyone who crossed his path. Of course, this was seen as quite haughty of the cub but his mother dismissed his behavior because she loved him so. Soon enough though, Saffier Rok learned the ways of charming others into doing what he liked.
As he grew older his cunning ways and fake smiles charmed many into falling for his "good natured ways." In truth though, Saffier Rok was actually quite a con man, fooling others into doing as he pleased and using them as pawns in his games for personal gain. Soon enough he matured into a rather regal-looking lion with a nasty smirk that was always plastered on his face. Of course his ways only worsened, and soon enough karma came back to bite him on the butt. Saffier had tried to con a rather stuffy, older lioness into coming back to a "special place" of his for a quick fling, but found himself in quite some trouble under her wrath. He did not realize that she was a older, much more experienced being and instead of falling for his charm, started a huge scuffle with him and attacked! Saffier, being use to worming his way out of such situations and fleeing, found himself on the ground and being battered and hissed at by the now angered lioness. Even with his sharp claws, he couldn't seem to leave a decent hit on her lithe, strong figure. She definitely knocked his block off and left him there, snarling as she left and told him to change his ways, else he wouldn't live much longer...
Saffier Rok as of now has had his spirit broken and has stopped socializing and charming others completely. Instead of a smirk, a somber frown frames his face and his emerald green eyes look to the ground rather than eyeing potential pawns for his old ways. He feels rather lost. What will he do now? He's been humbled cosiderably by the experience of being beaten in a fight and could have even been killed, but how will his sprits rise again?
Future plans: I'd actually like to have him go through some epic RPing with female lions to try and change his ways towards them. Instead of seeing females as easy prey to trick and just fling about with, I'd like him to come to a realization that they are more than just that. Of course he will probably fling with a few who are willing in the future, but more or so after his realization I'd like him to go on a sort of "quest" to change his old habits and find himself a pride and real home to call his own, as well as a mate. But if he doesn't change his ways he may relapse and go back to his nasty schemes.
As for future prides that he may be joining, I'm considering the Bhanu'Ecchumati pride if he relapses. If he does happen to change his ways (which I'm hoping will happen with plots!), then I'd like Saffier to travel while on his quest torwards the sea where he can be at peace and concentrate better, or just be near water. So mayhaps the Bahari'mtoto, Tete'boma, or the Kizingo'zaa prides~

GIVE ME A REASON TO LIVE! Name: Ingiwa'nahaya Meaning: "Feel shame" in Swahili
Personality: He is his own worst fears. It is a dark world inside his head, full of twisted images of himself. Though he isn't quite suicidal, he has several times considered it in the past. He is in truth a very gentle soul, and is unaware that he is highly empathetic, which tends to feed on his feelings of inadequacy and sympathy with his prey. Add into that how spurned he feels by other predators for his squeamishness about killing prey, a major blow to his masculinity, and you have a rather big mess of a lion.
History: Ingi's mother died giving birth to him, and his unborn siblings died with her. His father never let him forget that fact, reminding him often when he was displeased with some small matter Ingi had done. As a cub, he snuck a baby hare into the den to be his friend. His father, when he discovered the little prey animal, killed it instantly and made Ingi eat it for his dinner. Ingi wept the entire time, but dutifully consumed his friend.
This trauma was condensed by his second attempt at keeping a friend. It was another hare, this one a little older and very bouncy and energetic. Ingi, all unknowing, tried to play with his small friend as he instinctively knew to... pouncing annd wrestling. It was to his horror that he realized after some rough play that his friend wasn't just pretending to be dead. He truly was. Ingi could only see himself as just like his father, killing a friend for food. He's never been able to eat hare since, and any attempt his father made to force-feed him resulted in whatever was left in his stomach coming up.
As a juve, he and his father stumbled upon a dead waterbuck, with a suckling baby bawling mournfully. He begged his father to let it live, but regretted ever opening his mouth, since his father then required him to kill it himself. Heart-sick and self-loathing, he did as he was told eventually, hating himself for giving in. His father from that point on required him to do the hunting for the both of them. He became extremely good at it, but the aptitude only made his self-loathing worse. He hated killing.
The final blow to his self-image came much later. He had finally left his father, who spit on him for leaving and clearly was glad to be rid of him at the same time. He roamed the lands until one fateful day when he met the most beautiful creature he'd ever seen. She might not have been beautiful to anyone else, but to him, she was an angel. They had several years together in bliss, but true to his fears, it was not going to last. By ugly chance, his beloved caught some wasting disease. She slowly died before his eyes, no matter how hard he wept into her fur or cried aloud to the gods. One sorrowful day, she died in his arms. Mad with grief, he blamed himself for her death as well as all the other deaths that had happened along his lifetime.
Now he wanders the roguelands alone, shunning most company and never daring to physically touch another soul. He hunts only when he absolutely has to, learning to eat lesser creatures like insects, grubs, and fish. Often he is a skinny, emaciated figure, ghosting about in terror for what he will kill next.
Future plans: I have a little girl who is also traumatized, though in a different way. She feels physical pain at being touched by anyone but her mother. I plan for some sadistic lion to discover this trait when she is an adol and exploit it and leave her in agony. I think that Ingi and she would find solace in each other, each having their own demons to face, each understanding each other's woes. Together they would search for peace and inner acceptance of who they are, letting all else go as unimportant. I'd like for them to find themselves drawn to the Navi pride, where they would settle and heal and learn to love, finding their salvation in each other.

GIVE ME A REASON TO LIVE! Name: Ji Yi Meaning: Memories
Personality: Solemn and quiet. Ji Yi speaks if spoken to, but often doesn't feel a need to approach others-- possibly due to his past. Ji Yi is also highly mistrustful of leopards for his past and prefers not o deal with them-- especially healthy, spry ones.
History: Long ago Ji Yi went by another name, gifted by his mother at birth as other cubs in his pride were, and young Ji Yi was raised as an honourable young lion, gifted with a good arranged marriage and later, children. His pride was one of strong oral tradition after the rulers of the first days spoke of the pride's end times; times to bring death and misery, to wipe out his beloved pride. Ji Yi never believed them, but he did remember the old stories, for his children after he grew, and as was expected of all pride members.
Ji Yi was away, hunting just a bit further when the leopards came. Believing the land was theirs, they began to systematically murder and feed off those on pridal lands-- every male, female, and cub. By the time Ji Yi returned, the leopards levelled hungry eyes on the young male, however, seeing the massacre, he threw his meal to them. They seemed to discuss this and took it, before forcing Ji Yi into slavery.
His first task was to clean away the bones of his pridemates, depositing them away from the leopards' hunting and denning grounds, and after, he was sent on the hunt. Saily, he went out, retrieving what he was ordered, returning to his slobbering, ravenous masters, who devoured the meal before he could catch his own. And every time, he woke in the morning to prepare to do his duties for the leopards until he realized. He was stronger, healthier, and faster, and even if he ran, the weight of their crimes slowed them to a crawl, and in this, he found an escape. One morning, he fled, running as fast as he could, running for freedom.
And since then, she remembered his ordeal, in case he ever found a way to begin anew.... Future plans: Currently he'd wander and see if I find some female to have cubs for him to take and raise as his new generation pride. biggrin (It'll never go official)

GIVE ME A REASON TO LIVE! Name: Abasi Meaning: stern, stoic
Personality: Stern, dry, bitter, and sarcastic, Abasi really just wants to walk away from the past and start over anew. Unfortunately, he can't figure out how to do that without ruining his honor and disobeying his father's dying request.
History:
Abasi was raised for one reason and one reason only. He is an avenger, one that seeks out the lives of those that have go against tribe laws and murders them in cold blood. Or... well, he was an avenger. His life took a bit of a down turn when his oldest brother, Shibasa hit the road, never looking back. Their father was torn, agonizing over his decision to keep a flighty female as his mate and send his oldest son away. The old guy was old. He was a bit crazy in his old age, too, having taken on too many females as his mates and calling their family a "pride" even though everyone was related to everyone else, or mated to him.
Abasi watched silently as the lion that had taught him to be the efficient killer fell deeper and deeper into insanity and mourning. What was worse, the old lion muttered to himself, what was so much worse was the fact that he could no longer satisfy the females he had mated to begin with. He should have just given the lioness to Shibasa--but had he given her to him the rest of the pride would realize his problem--
Abasi stopped listening at that moment, walking away from the male he had looked up to so earnestly, and waiting for something that made sense. The next morning, though, the females reported to him that the old lion had died. But that wasn't all, the wiliest of the females told the young male. The old lion had given Abasi one last order. Abasi was to kill Shibasa, and get vengeance for leaving the pride as he had.
So now Abasi travels the rogue lands, searching for his brother to kill him, ordered by a lion that no longer lived. If he were to find his brother, he would have to kill him, because that was what he'd been raised to do. But other than Shibasa, he no longer knows where the rest of his family is. He's all alone in this world.
Sucks, huh?
Future plans: Abasi will travel the rogue lands, seeking his brother Shibasa. Since Shibasa has been all over the world, practically, he could easily meet some people that have met him before. He might give up after a few months and settle down in a pride (perhaps the Navi, I love that group<3 And I've always wanted one!) only to hear rumors about a demon looking lion that follows the god of the cursed. He'll leave his pride and start searching again.
I could have this epic battle between the two brothers, which would be interesting, but more likely I'd have Abasi give up, wanting to die, only to have his brother appear. Shibasa would laugh at him and tell him to go back to his pride. Then... well, actually, Abasi would try half-heartedly to kill his brother, only to have his a** kicked. (Shibasa fights dirty.) And Abasi would finally realize that the female had been lying. Or something.

GIVE ME A REASON TO LIVE! Name: Ukali Meaning: Swahili, meaning "daring"
Personality: He's a daring kind of guy. Genuinely happy, actually, but easily duped into doing stupid thing simply by someone simply saying the words "I dare you!" He doesn't like to be proven wrong, and has temper tantrums when he is. He'll never turn down a dare unless it involves things that would kill him for sure, such as jumping off a cliff or eating a plant he knows is poisonous. Other than that, he's all game.
History: You may be wondering why Li is always frowning. There's simple answer to that, and you could probably guess what that is. It all boils down to a dare from his cubhood days. He and his friend, who was as much of a daredevil as he was (though not as blindly accepting of any dare), dared him to spend a couple days just frowning because he didn't believe it could be done. At everything, everyone, all the time. Kind of stupid, yeah, but they were cubs. Of course, Li accepted.
You know that thing parents always used to say about having a sad or upset expression on your face all the time? "Don't scowl or your face'll stay like that forever." And then the kids would always go "PFFT. Yeah right." Well...in his case, it actually stuck. His friend actually forgot about the dare, so he forgot to tell him to stop, so he grew up always frowning and now he just can't get rid of it. Hah, go figure.
Nowadays it's not so much that he's always depressed, it's just that he doesn't know HOW to smile anymore, or laugh for that matter.
Future plans: I'll probably have him wander the roguelands, taking on dares of all sorts. Whether that means sleeping with a crazy chick or eating a funky bug, or even talking to a not-so-friendly god, he'll take on every dare he can find so long as it doesn't involve him definitely dying.
After that, I want him to meet someone who he figures he might like but isn't sure she'd want to be around a guy who's all frowns. So! I'd want him to find a god or goddess to cure him of his perma-frown so he can be with so-and-so lioness. Even if he's always frowning, if said god or goddess could get him to smile again that'd be just as good.

GIVE ME A REASON TO LIVE! Name: Anajo Meaning: Defeat
Personality: Generally listless and often giving the feeling of being bored with life. He tends to avoid relationships and has self-destructive habits, living recklessly at times and engaging in compulsive behavior. He acts like a guy who has nothing to lose.
History: At one time, Anajo had everything going for him. He was handsome, and he was in line to be the new king of his pride. Girls lined up to be with him. Life was good.
But then he never got the chance to live up to his dreams. Raiders came in through the pride, pillaging, murdering guards, stealing members away. Anajo survived by hiding, something which greatly troubles him to this day as he feels he was a coward that night. He thinks, maybe if he'd done something different, things would have ended differently.
He wanders, now, feeling bitter about losing his whole world and also feeling ashamed of himself for allowing it to happen.
Future plans: Anajo will wander the rogue lands for some time, feeling as though he has nothing to lose and engaging in all sort of reckless behavior. Then one day he'll find out just who was responsible for the destruction of his pride (possibly the Stormborn, if the owner agrees ^^) and will focus his whole life on trying to destroy them in any way possible. It probably won't work, but at least it'll give him something to try for.

GIVE ME A REASON TO LIVE!Name: Luaera Meaning: Riddle singer
Personality: There is really no accounting for Luaera. He is passionate and bull-headed when it comes to anything he supports, but he is fickle creature by nature and can change his mind in the blink of an eye. Nothing can be taken for granted with Luaera, whose promises may mean everything in one moment and nothing in the next.
Impulsive and irrational, he rarely pauses to consider the consequences of his actions before plunging in headfirst, and is often driven by short-lived passions that can shift as quickly as the wind. For all his apparent mindlessness, however, Luaera understands well the idea of keeping himself well-guarded. He does not trust others, and rarely lets them in on his secrets, no matter how well he knows them. Instead, he remains evasive in the presence of other creatures, often speaking in riddles to avoid answering direct questions.
Widely recognized by those who know him as a moody creature, Luaera rarely displays joyful emotions. Very little can make him truly happy, as he is a pessimist at heart, and believes that there are three bad things for every good one. He has a tendency to focus on the negative and lose sight of the positive, which can make him a terribly sore team player and difficult companion in general.
History: A littermate of Ferawyn, Luaera was born into a musical family. His parents were a singing duet famous throughout the lands, and his siblings were equally talented in song as well as numerous other aspects of the arts. His mother was the proverbial prima donna, loud and proud and always in control. She was also a firm believer in little superstitions, so when her cubs were born, she scrutinized each one with care. The first cub to finish his very first meal, she believed, would be the most talented of the litter. That cub was Ferawyn, and in return, she bestowed upon him the most prestigious name of the lot: champion musician.
Luaera grew up bitter and resentful of his brother's success. Though he was the firstborn, he remained a consistent second to Ferawyn, on whom his parents lavished praise and reward for his musical prowess. Had he been born to any other family, Luaera's deep, bass voice would have drawn recognition, but his achievements paled in comparison to those of his youngest brother.
The tipping point, though Luaera did not yet know at the time, came when Ferawyn's kleptomaniac tendencies matured. The younger lion began to sing and lure away the females that his brothers brought home. The brothers eventually learned to make their peace with Ferawyn's habit, and at adolescence, the litter split ways.
It was only until after Luaera had left that he realized something was not quite right. Not long before his departure, he had brought home a lioness that he felt passionately for, a lioness that, in hindsight, he would have been happy spending the rest of his life with. As with all his past romantic interests, Ferawyn successfully had drawn her away. Luaera grew more and more distraught as he considered his situation: he was alone, and the lioness that he loved was (he thought) with his brother.
As a lion of Luaera's fickle disposition is apt to do, he changed his mind about being alright with Ferawyn's actions, and sought to seek revenge for his lost love.
Future plans: - He will wander the rogue lands in search of his brother for a while; his plan of action is to find Ferawyn and win his lioness back - What he doesn't know is that Ferawyn doesn't have the lioness. Eventually, he will come across the Myrsky Syntynyt, where Ferawyn is now a slave, and join as a Reaver. Not only will he get to lord his position over his brother, but he will also have the opportunity to seek out Ferawyn's mate. - He will realize that Fera actually does not have his lioness, and his plans will change. Instead, he will resolve to kill the one Fera loves. Luaera is not aware that Fera's secret lover is actually a fellow (male) Reaver (owned by CJ) - Possibly a huge, dramatic tangle between the three (would have to discuss with CJ if I won); if not, he will likely spend the rest of his days hunting for Fera's lover - After all that (he will probably never get over the lost love), he will try to work his way up to Captain, gaining ever more authority over his brother, who he will not forgive and will never cease to remind of his lowly position - The journey up the ladder will probably be a difficult one for Luaera, thanks to his moody disposition and pessimism, and his life will likely be filled with failures that, in any other circumstances, would have been enough to make him quit; ironically, the only thing driving him toward success will be his hatred for his brother - Maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe reconciliation at the end? A huge maybe, since it would be a bit of a cliche, and if it were to happen it would likely be far down the line. Perhaps at the end of his life (injury while out viking that would take his life upon his return and he would seek out his brother?)

GIVE ME A REASON TO LIVE! Name: Tangi Meaning: Pacific Islander - Funeral, to cry with great sadness/ Breton - Fire warrior Personality: Tangi is an odd one to say the least. He is always frowning, almost as if a frown is all he ever knows to use in order to express himself. Tangi was born to be a warrior and had all the natural abilities required minus one thing - grace. Because of his klutzy nature he was used to be babied by his female relatives. But after being raised under his father Tangi has lost much of the cute, klutzy side of himself. Though admittedly it is rather easy for him to trip on his paws when he is embarressed and especially if he is in front of a female.
His expression may not be happy or particulary kind, but his heart is still good. The only times he is truly different is when he slips into his 'fighting' self, the side that his father forced into him when he was young. When he's fighting his expression has been said to change to that of a fiery demon; completely different from who he normally is.
Because of his experiences under his father, Tangi tends to be more of a loner and is shy around others. It has been forever since he was on his own and he has forgotten how to express himself. It's almost as if he is a cub again just minus the smile that used to light up his face. History: Tangi was raised in a family of warriors, but was the only male in a litter of six. His father took this opportunity to directly raise his son and to force his growth as a fighter. Tangi used to love playing with his sisters and always had a big smile despite his klutzy nature. But then when he was just an adolescent the ‘training’ began. Any smile resulted in a smack to the face and any laughter resulted in a searing pain from tackles. His father didn’t want his son to look weak and so that easy-going expression had to change. Tangi had to change.
Until he was a young adult Tangi was separated from his sisters and even his mother. His father dragged him across the rogue lands instilling a dark killer instinct into his only son. But Tangi didn’t want to be a killer, he rarely could eat prey! Still after many events, which Tangi wished to never relive or even think about again, his father had a machine. Tangi was the perfect weapon, strong and lithe and quiet. His gaze nor his expression never gave anything except a frown. That frown stayed even when his father was seriously injured and demanded that Tangi finish his training. To finish him off.
Was he happy to finally be rid of the old lion? A little, but Tangi still had heart to cry at his father’s death. Still had heart to try to fight the killer instincts that rage within him. He knows that the lives he took while training won’t come back and they are a heavy burden on the lion’s shoulders. So heavy that he is afraid that should he actually open up to someone that they will end up being scared of him. Or worse: harmed or killed by him.
Future plans:
-For now Tangi is still roaming the rogue lands lost without his father to dictate his every move. He’ll probably encounter several rogues, mainly lions and even end up getting caught in more fights despite his wishes for peace. ((Most of his fights will probably be just because he gave a lion the ‘wrong’ type of look with his frown and all. And since he’s so awkward at expressing himself….well of course he’ll get into trouble.))
-Perhaps he will get cornered by lions who remember him and want their revenge for what he did during his 'training days' under his father's orders.
-It would be neat if I could find some lionesses who could be his sisters so he could have a sort of reunion with them and allow them to know about their father’s death. Either they could condemn him for letting their father die or try their best to comfort their baby brother.
-Romance wise it might take a while for him to be able to open up to any lioness. She would have to be stubborn and chase him down their first couple of meetings in order to even get to talk to him. I would think that he would fall in love easily though if the female’s heart was pure and she truly did express love for him. It would definitely scare him to see happy emotions for once, but Tangi would gradually appreciate having someone to love. (That or she could be a healer who finds him after a major fight and slowly warms her way into his heart while he's recovering.)
However, there are several different ways this romance could end:
-He is forced to kill another lion – right in front of her. Which may result in her running away from him, hating him, or maybe in the end forgiving him.
-She forces him to kill another lion once she realizes his strength. Basically she was manipulating him all along in order to get her revenge on a lion that she couldn’t kill by herself. He wouldn’t realize that he was used until it was too late and he had already killed. Then he would be heartbroken again and find himself leaving her – if not fighting with her.
-She could have started out manipulating him, but in the end truly fell for him. This could end up with them both settling down somewhere calm where he wouldn’t have to worry about having to kill ever again.
-Pride wise he might never join one but if he did I would think that the potential prides would be the Shrine Keepers (so that he could ‘atone for his sins’ by serving the gods) or the Jini-Misemi (so that he could change his name and start life as a new lion).

GIVE ME A REASON TO LIVE! Name: Aziri Meaning: Shame (Swahili)
Personality: Aziri is mute, and he rarely tries to communicate with others beyond the simple headshake or nod. His expression is always sad, and even when he offers a rare smile, it never seems to reach his eyes, which remain melancholy. He can communicate with body language when needed however, and even though he usually is unwilling to connect with others, he has a clever mind and is clearly a very sensitive male.
Aziri doesn't seem to mind the life of a slave. He's never considered being anything else, feeling that he is unworthy. It's quite possible that no one thinks lower of Aziri than himself, besides his father. While not suicidal, Aziri's feelings of worthlessness are constant, and he doesn't even dare to feel he has any redeeming qualities. He lives life in a way subdued way, doing what is asked of him as a slave and never requesting more. Although he would never admit it, he does have dreams of one day finding someone that would accept him for who he is, although he never expects it to happen. He is a lonely soul too ashamed to ask for comfort, believing he doesn't deserve it.
History: Aziri has good reason to be sad! Not only was his mother killed because he was born, and he lives the life of a slave, but he's also mute. Life isn't looking too bright for this guy at the moment!
It all began when an Aikanaro'hini male met a female rogue outside of the Demon's territory. The male wanted to bring strong cubs back to his pride, and it was his good fortune to find a feisty young lioness who also happened to fancy him. They had a fling, and the male stuck around through the female's pregnancy under the guise that he wanted to help her raise the family, while in actuality he was just waiting for his chance to take the litter back with him. However, through the time they spent together, he started to grow rather fond of the female, whose dark colored coat and no-nonsense attitude fit in quite well with his vision of the perfect lady of his pride. He began to think he may return with her as well, if he could convince her to come...
And then, the litter was born. Or rather, the cub. Somewhere in the female's lineage she must have had white ancestors, because even though both parents were dark, the cub was pure snow white, and couldn't even mew from the moment it was born. The male was perfectly horrified that he had had a part in it's making, he decided then and there to kill it. Then no one would ever know he had sired such a pitiful creature!
He had assumed that the mother would be exhausted from birth, but as he snarled at the cub and raised his paw to deal a blow that would have surely killed it, the female sprang and attacked her lover, protecting her only baby with the passionate fury of a new mother. The male had never raised a paw to her before now, and in his fury he didn't know his own strength. He let his demon get the better of him, and before he knew it, he was standing over the body of his former lover, panting and dumbfounded. Apparently she had been very weak after all, but she hadn't backed down from the fight to save the cub she already loved. The male hadn't intended to kill her at all, and felt deep remorse. He had truly cared about her, and now all he had left of her was this white weakling, a blemish in his proud family line. But as he replayed the tragic fight over and over in his mind, he couldn't bear to kill the cub now, that his female had given her life to defend. She would have wanted it to live, and so he would carry out her last wish... in his own way.
The male made a choice. The cub would never be accepted into his pride as anything but a slave, but at least there he would have a life. And there the male could watch over him, ensuring that his weak, deficient line would never spread. The male would forever regret not being able to come to this decision sooner, before the mother died, but at least in this way he could atone for it. He named the cub Aziri, for he truly was a shame, and took him back to the Aikanaro'hini, telling the other demons that he'd found the cub, who would make an ideal slave. After all... he was mute. How nice to keep a silent slave who couldn't annoy you with chatter!
As Aziri grew up, he had a hard life. His father remained distant, but once the cub was old enough to understand the story his father told him the truth of his birth and lineage. His father wanted Aziri to know what he was responsible for, and also knew well that the cub could never tell anyone. And so Aziri grew up feeling that he was to blame for his mother's death, a tragedy that would have been avoided if only he had never been born...
Future plans: Obviously, I want this guy to be in the Aikanaro'hini, where I'd like him to remain forever. I'd like to try and RP around his obvious issue of having no voice by using facial expression and body language to communicate, although I may get him a familiar in the future that could tell what he is trying to say and communicate it for him. That is, assuming the other demons wouldn't just eat it. XD
Eventually I'd like him to be given to a demon female as a personal slave, who could either dislike him thoroughly and make him feel horrible when he develops an attraction for her (unrequited), or if it was reciprocated, his father might try to intervene before he could sire any cubs. In any case, the only way I would ever want him to successfully breed is with another slave, after which he might man up a little and attempt to help his lady or the cubs escape from the pride, hoping for a better life for them than what he has had. Whether or not it is successful is up for plotting!
At some point, I would either custom his father or find someone with a demon male willing to plot with me and have him be Aziri's father. Although his father will never accept Aziri, it's possible that their conflict might resolve in some way in the future, where his father could disown him, forget about him, etc. It depends on the plot and who/what I'm working with!
