The sands of time passed and Noir had come more and more obsessive with his den’s protection. Kata knew why, but he wouldn’t admit it to anyone else. The child was very doting on his own den and would sometimes only mind laying at the opening of the den to just lay there. Emotionally helping the one trapped inside. Your not the only one, and Noir knew less and less of that. The only thing he wanted was to be with N'gombe. That was it. Kata and his own missions were brief and quickly done. Careless to say the least and Kata was often showing her concern to look back and fix the problems he did. Blind to this, their last mission was complete and the will to go home was pressing in to him. N’gombe. She was waiting… But his muscles were tired from the exhausting days before hand, obviously needing rest. Stubborn. He told Kata. “Let’s go home.”
Usually not one to show exhaustion, Kata displayed it simply by her rump naturally going to a thump on the floor. Eyes looking around as she was to ‘shadow’ Noir and learn how he did his missions. What needed to be done. For some reason, since he met that female, he was becoming careless and leaving marks that were easily traceable. Thankfully, she had shadowed him before the female came in to his life to know the marks and go back and hide them. This mission was particularly hard, as it was taxing to follow an ‘owed’ leopard around. Especially when they had lion friends which made it harder to find a singular time to strike. Going from pride in to pride, this leopard had been really getting on their last nerve.. to the strike at the wrong time and had to make it apart as if it were hyenas whom did it. Tarring the body apart, limb for limb in a bloody scene. Kata, was the lookout but she couldn’t over look that he seemed to be enjoying the death and the fact that he gave that leopard time to almost call out for help. Which would have put them against several lions and a hand full of other leopards to fight and Kata alone wouldn’t be able to cover him. She laid low and once the deed was done and she cleaned up after. She sat stationary. Eyeing him. “Go home? You’re wheezing. You need rest.”
“Rest?” He corrected her and turned as he came up face to face with her. Threatening to say the least from the aura he was giving off. “I have someone to go home to. That I, need to protect. So let’s go.” Going up and brushing against her in a harsh way.
A large hiss came from her. “Rest.” She stated again and only got up to push him in return. Looking him straight in the eye. No one, did that to Noir but her. Kata was the only one who wasn’t afraid to stand up to him, one of the most deadly beings in the ‘Nera. “If we don’t rest- I will personally lay here and you will have to deal with Nyoka and my father yourself. Asking where I am? Why I wasn’t with you and how careless your being? Oh and to top it off- why you were distracted and careless. I’m sure they would love to know who exactly your putting ahead of the pride.” A hiss- if she had to use threats. She would. Huffing and laying right in front of him. Knowing how much miles away they were from the previous mission and how this spot gave them cover like no other would. Lowering her head in a way so formal yet showing she will not be moved, that on the inside. It made her quiver. He could cause her major harm and blame it on the mission. He was smart but he met his match with stubborn.
He gruffed and showed how angry he was by giving a large stomp and almost wanting to slap her for the disrespect to her elders but turned his head and walked off. Setting himself on a cliff and looking over the lands. His body was tired and it was yelling at him for sleep. Sometimes, he did wake up and become someone else he didn’t know about. Other times, he would stay Noir. Someone who was polar opposite to his alternative life. He growled then let his rump fall. Looking out in the direction of the pride… then slowly his body draped down. He wanted so badly to come home but with someone shadowing him, he had limitations and thoughs limitations were taxing when he had other things to do and worry over. What if someone went in to his den? What If some other guy tried to take her away. The very THOUGHT sickened him.
With being so forward with him, she couldn’t help but want to talk to him. He was going through something and to make sure not all of their missions ended up carelessly trailing back to them. She HAD to know what was going on. Learning this, maybe she could help or better understand and show him what he was doing to the pride and their missions. Being the bigger ‘man’ she slowly got up and walked over to him. “You need not to push yourself so hard. Time will forgive you this once if we are on time. Rushing things only puts us in more danger you know.” Then draped her body down a foot or two away from him. Enough to not show she had any interest in him romantically. She gave him the space he needed to feel comfortable but generally he wouldn’t have let her get this close- before knowing that girl.
“You, tell me that. Hmph. You’re here only to shadow what I am doing.. not critic me for not being able to do a mission on your own. Do not forget who the student is.” Turning his head away in an attempt to show dominance. Really, uncaring on his part. Again, he was being distant and rather harsh with his words but that was who he was. Noir, now. “You do well to know your place too- as you think you know mine. I have yet to see anyone talk to me so forward but I will not show my belly to a female who was spoiled and think she will succeed because of your pushing ways. Politics, is all that its and really is no need for it.”
“My apologizes, it was not my intent to do so.” Bowing her head as she looked at him. Then gave a slight head tilt as she wondered exactly what he meant by that. Surely she had angered him but now he was saying things that she hoped he really didn’t think on. Almost crushed when he said so… she knew herself not to be spoiled as she worked hard to get to where she was now but still… the way he said it was as if her father was saying it. It quieted her for a moment or so before raising her head. “It is not that, but I felt like you were not all there.. Sir. If I am not being forward and I mean no disrespect but… does the way your acting… is it because of that girl?”

As if he would accept her apology. Hmph. Once she was out of his hair, the better. So he can do these missions with ease and not have to worry about baggage. But something of his world was disturbed when the words relating to N’gombe were brought up. He turned quickly at her and gave her a large rusted growl… Etching his talons forward before slinking them back in to his paw. “What do you know of her-“. The growling continued for a few moments.. and his eyes were almost hitting that ‘ok danger- run away’ signals.
“Remember… you brought her here. That day, I questioned why you brought her here when you clearly were clinging to every essence and… you seemed different. Even now. So protective…and she is not even here.” Looking like she was trying to understand him. Really, she was. He looked like he was destroying himself over her and that would make the pride lose a valuable member that she couldn’t bare to watch. He taught her most of her assassin skills and only one time did she meet and take N’gombe out… She wanted to get to the bottom of this! It was just taring her up when she saw thoughs misty eyes… trapped in the den where Noir kept her captive. On top of that, he on the other side of the coin was killing himself over worrying and clinging to her every protection. “You don’t see it but… I do. Your exhausting yourself over her…”
A child speaking such things. She didn’t understand. She was never in love- never felt it but that was far from what he thought he was. He cared so deeply about her that every moment was agony without her. That, was what no one understood. His physical being was being drained without her. “If anyone touches her- I will kill them. Every second without her is agony. So when you tell me why- I don’t have an answer. I just- MUST. So your childish ways do not affect me as I only have to babysit you- That will soon change when I get you to walk on your own by the order of the lady. I would have not even wasted my time if it were naught.” He slammed his paw down with authority. Then looked away.
“I’m only trying- nevermind then.” She tried with lots of hope then it was cruelly turned away. Hissing softly. Then lowered her head to her paws.. Her tail coiled close and almost recoiling like a child would when yelled at. Gruffing a moment before getting up, unsettled and laid with her head high and watching out as if she caught herself being childish and now trying to prove otherwise. Always looking at herself, to better herself in every way possible. A few moments passed of pure silence. Both knew that each other’s now angry positions. On edge and pretty angry- she let out a sigh of pure exhaustion. Tired of him being so stubborn and not seeing what a great fighter should be seeing. What she THOUGHT he was..
Watching… and waiting for the sun to go down. If they were staying out, he had to hunt. Especially when training someone, he had to make sure they learnt the way of the hunt from the outside. “Do you know how to climb trees yet?” He stated with a harsh tone.
From being flat and relaxed just a little when she saw him lay. She settled in the confines of her own space. A little dip and though she wasn’t draping her body over a large rock that would most likely suit her better. She knew that on missions, she needed to expect the worse and live in any condition. She shrugged likely to the fact that he left her there.. then when the tones hit her ears, her head rose. Putting him some attention. Her tail flickering as she processed his words. Would he really show her how to climb trees? Or was he going to leave her or set her up for failure. She thought about it and let her words roll off her tongue. “I don’t. I know only to climb rocks and slanted trees but not upward standing trees. I have yet to complete my full training.”
A smile crossed his lips. No, not a smile. A smirk. “Then. At least we have some energy left before rest to catch something. You’ll need to learn this because one cannot go for weeks without food and expect the strength to fulfill a mission. So come on. We will move slow for your rest~ cub.” Getting up slowly after the sun had fell and silence had beheld them for so long. Shaking off his tough body to then go in to stalking mode and jump down the small ridge. “You comin’ cub.” He gruffed and pretty much laughed in a cocky way.
She tilted her head… out of words to say before quickly going in sync with his movement. Jumping down only moments after he said it in a slow and yet alluring way to the way she walked. “If my teacher wills it. I shall do as he says without thought.” Bowing her head before she was lead off with the male.. With that smirk he gave- and that laugh. She never really heard Noir laugh before- it was awkward and though she didn’t know how quite to place it. Maybe she was good for him. Changing him in ways that he could not before. Honestly, when she was first getting started and he was to be her trainer. Something came over her that she felt it was her duty to help him. The way he talked, though only a few words. She felt his strength and coldness. Now, something about him was changing and how he just spoke to her. It made her feel like… maybe they were getting somewhere. After a while- she hoped to help their situation out a little and maybe help the girl captured by this male. ‘I don’t know much… and I know that I am still just a cub but. I want to help you- something is compelling me to help the female stuck in that den and it is making me want to do irrational things. How she spoke out of fear. It made her feel like I was suffocating and maybe. Just maybe I can move him to see how much he is hurting her. Maybe… I can help. Should I help? My heart tells me to but I know that helping this female... could possibly cause problems with father. She I just let it go? But... she looked so helpless...what should I do?’ She asked herself as she walked beside the male. Starring at him. She was making progress- or so she thought.
