Faults

Sitting perfectly upon it's hill
The house caught the eyes of all
They looked at the white fence
Saw it as the home everyone imagined
Perfectly painted, deep red
It stood out warmly against the rolling green
Cobled to it's door, the brass shined happily in a greeting
The man sat inside, shaking slightly in his chair
Every glance of his eye, all he saw were the cracks
He sobbed out of shame
Seeing the faults in his work
A hand on his his brow, he sighed a whisp
One question he wanted to ask
One simple question he wanted to know
"Is this what everyone sees?"

Roads

A road that turns
It sways to the flowing forests
cutting its way through the mountains fortress
Undercrofts making the path seem endless
Abscense of light forbiding
Ending with bursting rays assaulting
Grass scraps your knees, thoughts raving
You close your eyes as they sting
As you open them the blue skies expand
Slowly, it grows dark
Fearful as memories invade your thoughts
Then, suddenly, you sit in wonder
It is everything you hoped it would be
A vast ocean, reflecting the sky's fireflies.

The Sea

The rain falls across the land,
Eradicating the shallow footsteps
The only thing here with me now,
are the stars and your light.
Soft starshine giving a sight to our way
You and I, in this place of waves
Your voice is a softness to my being,
taking away taint of life
The comfort of your hand a reassurance beyond any worldly delight
We embarked years ago as simple children,
growing along the path we share together
The innocences of youth has been washed away
to be replaced a clearer sight of the future.
Troublesome hailstorms loom,
threatening to break this calm.
I do not hesitate.
The pain of the living,
the challenges of the future.
All these are under my foot.
As easily treadable as the grasslands.
As long as I have you.
