The Hidden Temple
Appearing as a simple pagoda on the outside, the temple has many hidden rooms and hallways that can only be navigated by the Goddess herself. It is well hidden to remain a silent place where the ninjas can come and worship their goddess in peace. The temple itself can only be found by the ninjas, other gods and the faes who are brought there by the ninjas.

Any race that can find their way here is allowed but they must be strong willed in order to be repected in this temple. They must also be able to keep secrets in order to keep the temple at peace.

The Goddess Herself
Ryo Kage is a very patient and crafty goddess, she spent many years building the mazes and hidden pathways that now reside within the temple. Her ability to focus is almost unmatched after her years of training and experience from missions. She is a very understanding goddess yet she takes no hesitation in reacting to problems that may arise in her temple. She teaches and watches over the ninjas while they are young and makes sure they complete their missions once they have become adults. She resides in the deepest maze of the temple where she trains in private during most of the days.
The Angelique
Mai is quiet and stealthy. She is also incredibly graceful and shows very little emotion. The only person to who she opens up is her beloved Ryo and she does not fully trust anyone else. She tends to be Ryo's 'morality chain," reminding her goddess and their followers when they go too far into the execution of a job.

Temple Rules
1. The Goddess does not appreciate those who will disrespect her and her temple in anyway.
2. No Godmodding, unless you are a visiting God/Goddess.
3. Any fae may come here to worship as long as they are able to find the temple.
4. Ninjas must leave their weapons hidden and sheathed at all times unless given permission by the Goddess herself.
5. All other faes must leave their weapons outside of the temple unless they are another God/Goddess.

Temple Ranks
Female ranks:
Master Kunoichi: Reserved for the loyalist and most experienced ninjas, only 1 may exist at a time and the final challenge to become one is a mission given by the goddess.
Chukage: Reserved for ninjas only, it contains the few females who have performed many missions and have stayed true to their goddess. There may be up to 3 at any one point in time, their challenge to keep their rank must be completed once a year.
Tsukikage: Reserved for ninjas only, this is the first rank that ninjas must complete one of the goddess's missions in order to achieve. It is usually a very short yet complex task that shows who has true strength and mental ability. There can be up to 5 at anytime.
Hoshikage: Any non-ninja female can be this rank. They must prove their ability to keep secrets and also must prove their strength. Only 1 fae can be at this rank at a time, at the end of each year they must complete one of the ninja tasks that the goddess supplies to them. This is the highest rank a fae can get yet it takes many years to reach this point.
Yukikage: Any non-ninja female can be this rank, they must be proven loyal and skillful. The test for this rank is very simple, they must follow the secret pathways and find the goddess within a week's time. Only 3 faes may be this rank at a time.
Hanakage: Any non-ninja female may be this rank. The only task to be this rank is to prove your loyalty to the goddess while helping the other faes with their lessons and tasks. There can be up to 10 at any one time, even the lowest rank is important to the goddess here.
Male Ranks:
Master Shadow: The strongest of all males takes this rank, the goddess supplies a task and the Master Kunoichi provides a fighting challenge to the male. It is very rare that there is a male trustworthy enough to make it to this rank. This must be repeated once a year in order for the male to keep his rank.
Touryou: Two males can be at this rank at any one time. In order to reach this rank, the goddess gives a simpler task and the oldest Chukage challenges one of them at a time to a duel. In order to remain at this level the male must remain trustworthy and must also repeat the task and duel once a year.
Oniwaban: Three males can be at this rank at any one time. In order to achieve this rank, the male must have proven loyal to the goddess and have completed one of her short yet complex tasks. The middle Tsukikage challenges the males to a course in which they must make it through without disturbing the rice paper that lines the ground. They must complete both the task and challenge every year in order to remain this rank.
Jyounin: Four males can be at this rank at any one time. In order to achieve this rank, the males must finish the same mission as the Hoshikage but they are given a shorter period of time. They're loyalty to the goddess must not have any doubts and they must repeat the task once a year to keep their rank.
Chunin: Five males can be at this rank at any one time. The task to achieve this rank is very simple, the males must follow the pathways and find the goddess within a week's time. They must stay silent the whole time or risk the goddess moving to a new pathway while they sleep.
Genin: Eight males can be at this lowest rank at any given time, their duty is to keep the temple clean and help with the cooking and teaching of other males. They aren't seen in the same way as the goddess sees the Hanakage but they are still important to the temple and it's running.

Ryo Kage trained quietly in the back of her temple, she could sense all the other faes that were training and preparing for missions. Each one had their own job but at the moment there were very few who had found this place. For a ninja it was a sanctuary but when times were hard there would be the need of others to get missions from. As much as she disliked the idea, there would have to be more faes around the temple that were not ninjas. She sighed and landed a blow so hard on the training dummy that it's head snapped off. It slowly vanished and was replaced by another, a system she had set up in the years she had been around. Along with all the boobie traps that she had created for fun and protection.
"In order to keep missions coming in... Help is needed. She swished her tail and walked through the halls of the temple. Each hallway connected like the pathways of a maze. Only she and her angelique could easily navigate these shadowy halls. Many faes had gotten lost in an attempt to look around, many more are still lost and have yet to be found. The temple was larger than it appeared to be from the outside and that was another of the reasons why she chose the location she did. As she slowly reached the front area inside the temple, she looked around for her angelique. Surely Mai would know how to deal with mortals better than she would. Someone had to train them in the art of stealth when coming to the temple.

As if she had been there the entire time, Mai ghosted to her goddess's side. "You ought to be a bit more careful with the dummies, love," she said quietly. There was no actual criticism in her voice, merely advice. Those didn't produce themselves, after all. (Well, in a way,t hey did...a bit of willpower form the Goddess and it would be restored. But still.) She tilted her head to the side and pondered her mate's words.
"Indeed. Why does it disquiet you so?" She asked. "After all, they may not be your true children," and here she thought of the race her Goddess had made, those incredible warrior females that were currently the majority of inhabitants at their temple, "but I am sure they will quickly adapt to our customs. Already there are those outside our temple that practice some form of it. Were you aware that there are Good vampires in Faetasia now, and one of them seems to have a bit of our sort in him?" She made casual note of it. She placed a hand on her mate's arm. "Do you wish something of me?" She suspected what it was, but she wanted to be sure.

Ryo smiled slightly underneath her mask, it was nice with Mai around. She made it easier for her to deal with mortals, in a way Mai was her reality check on things going on around the outside of the temple. She held the virtues of being a ninja with a high regard and helped with the testing of the inhabitants of the temple. She would appear in much the same way as an idea ninja should, in silence from the shadows.
"Things have not been in balance due to the overpowering of darkness and then the light. It does not bode well for this land. I fear that things may go out of hand with the increase of outsiders." She listened as Mai explained the way even vampires had been effected by the imbalance that had occurred. It did intrigue her as Mai spoke of how others were training in similar arts of fighting. Ryo place a hand on Mai's hand and nodded. "We need to find out what is going on outside this temple to prevent harm from coming to the faes living here. We need to set up espionage teams to check out families or facts about what the outsiders tell us to see if they are indeed true in their words."

Mai nodded. She reached over and squeezed her goddess's hand. "Do not worry, my love, the balance will restore itself." She said. "And I shall see about opening up our contact with the outside worked." Something already churned over in her head. She knew of one pupil who was quite good at espionage, and she had been meaning to test him for quite some time...Besides, he blended a bit better with the outside than the Ninjas themselves did.
So, she had sent a letter to one Gabriel Shadowfox, recalling him from the mission he was on. She waited for him in the main atrium of the temple...except "she" no longer looked like a "she." Her hair was still its normal long violet, pulled into a ponytail, but she had wrapped her chest flat and pulled on less...revealing attire, long black pants and a black long-sleeved shirt. All in all, she looked like a feminine, but still male, boy. She had used a touch of magic to deepen her voice to complete the disguise.

Gabriel had received a message telling him to make his way to the Ninja Temple. He grew up on the outskirts of the temple never really allowed inside. Everyone knew it was well protected by traps and other deadly means. Some whisper that none can get inside in-less you have the favor of the Goddess herself or her Angelique. Gab ponders to himself the best way to enter the Temple itself. He had already gone through the difficult maze of traps and puzzles.
With a shrug he decides the best rough in is to simply walk through the door. After all he knew both The Goddess Ryo and her Angelique knew of his presence on there grounds. He was no fool. With a grin he remembers a saying his sensi used to tell him. "Sometimes the best hidden path is the direct visible path." Which basically meant that people are so busy watching the hiding weak spots that they don't pay attention to there front doors. He opens the door quietly and softly shuts it behind him. Then he moves to the side where the door cannot hit him while he figures out what, where to go from there.

Mai- or Maru, as "he" was going to be introducing himself-stepped into the light. "His" expression was completely neutral, and "he" acknowledged Gabriel with a nod.
"So, you made it this far." He eyed the fox up and down, as if seeing him for the first time, though she had been watching him, caring for him, secretly since he was little. Gabriel would probably be surprised if he learned how many figures in his life were the angelique in various disguises. Yes, she played blatant favorites. What?
"I am Maru. I am to guide you through to the heart of the temple. It will not be easy." His voice was sharp, commanding. "You will have to keep up with me as best you can...if you can. There will be tests and traps along the way. I will not stop for you if you fall behind. Is this clear?" His tail swished, as he waited for an answer.

Gabriel was not surprised at the greeting, nor the news of more traps and complexities. Yet to him he felt at ease, as if this was his home. He tried to pinpoint what it was exactly that made him feel as if this place where his home with no luck. He gave a nod that he understood. So far what he'd been through was a mere child's game compared with some of the missions he'd run across.
He could well understand why they tested the Ninjas and others of rank. It was much needed if you wished to survive your first mission.
He moved with a fluid grace through the halls as if he where dancing yet quick as a feline and just as deadly. There was a rhythm to this place that he felt within his own heart. He closed his eyes while running with Maru seeing the traps and downfalls as well as if his eyes where open. It was an amazing skill that is taught to all the children the Sensei's cares for.

Maru set a quick pace, and half the time didn't seem to walk so much as step from shadow to shadow, vanishing and reappearing a few feet ahead. So far, "he"/she was impressed with Gabriel's progress, but there were plenty of tougher challenges ahead. One of which would be lurking in the next open space. Maru simply shadowported (or whatever he was doing) from end to end, but waiting in the center of the room was a female, one of the Ninjas of the temple.Shizuka Sato stood in the middle of the room, blade at the ready. She eyed the Fox as he entered, giving "Maru" a nod as "he" continued down the maze. She was Kikyou's mentor, and though the two had just met, enough of Shizuka's many sources had seen them together that news had reached her before his arrival at the temple. So this was a bit of a double test.
"We are going to spar, boy. Defeat me and pass."
