Following the return of several scouts with their new 'members', the Theluji-Mkazi has faced a time of unprecedented growth. It seems the gods themselves are smiling down upon the tiny mountain pride, granting them warmer than usual days, plentiful food, and much more. The king and queen have taken this as a sign to begin preparing for the next generation, and are attempting to create that very generation (the future queen of the pride). Though they have had no luck yet, they remain positive, and the pride is sure their future will be secured in due time.

Despite this, all is not well in the lands. One of the rogues who was brought to join has been caught snooping and spying. She seeks to take over the pride, and have it for her own. She has enlisted several others, both from the pride and from the mass of joining rogues, to aid her in her conquest. Their plans have stayed hidden until now--the time to attack has come, and the plot is about to unfold!

Will the original queen catch the plot against her in time, and save the land? Will the usurper conquer the pride, and bring it to its knees? Will something else entirely happen?

1. All complaints should be PM'd to me. If you're caught whining/complaining in-thread, there will be consequences.
2. Don't try to make others feel bad for entering/winning/competing.
3. Follow all Gaia rules.
4. Please do not enter if you won something in the previous contest for the meta!
5. You may enter for them all, however, you can only win ONE.
6. Grammar and spelling are counted, to an extent.
7. There is no word limit. Likewise, there is no minimum.
8. The SoA may never leave the pride.
9. By applying for a character you understand that they may die as part of this event!
10. Editing is allowed, until the contest closes.
11. There will be RP involved in this plot, so do not apply if you're looking for sig candy. You will be expected to RP your character at least every other week and up to each week for the duration of the event. If you miss your turn to do an RP for the meta, your SoA may be rehomed to a secondary owner.
12. DO NOT share any secret information about your character with ANYONE until the end of the meta. Breaking this rule will result in the loss of your character!
13. Please stick to the given personalities for each SoA. Deviating a little is fine, but if we find out you're playing the serious girl as happy go lucky during the meta, for example, the SoA will be rehomed.

The meta itself will run for roughly 4-6 weeks. Each character's player will be PM'd with specific information on their character that should be 'brought to light' in their weekly RP. They will ALSO be assigned RP partners, and be expected to play out their required RP in a timely manner.

Rank: Mwinda (Huntress)
Personality: Esmek is a very solitary lioness. She doesn't seem to like to talk to anyone. Before reaching the pride, her behavior was very similar. She stuck with the group but rarely said anything, and always seemed to want to be left alone. She is a phenomenal hunter, but seems to become very angry when someone compliments her on it.

Other Info: She is Radosny's daughter.


Prompt: You've just brought in a kill, and your father compliments you on it even though he knows you hate that. He then goes on to say that coming to this pride was a great idea; there's lots of friendly people, and plenty young bucks for you to have your pick of for a mate! He suggests that with your skill at hunting any male would be lucky to be able to say he was yours. While he's talking, you notice Luoji staring at you from nearby. What do you do? How does it make you feel? Are you pleased, or do you hate the idea of being tied down, forced into close proximity with one lion forever? You may play Radosny and Luoji in your response if needed, but focus on Esmek.

Personality: Vod is an older lion. He seems to have lived a rough life, and his body is covered in scars. He was constantly bossing the group before they reached the pride, but now seems too bothered by the cold to be barking orders. He hates the cold, it makes his bones ache, and that makes him one mean somebich. He's not terribly large, but he's got the attitude of a general, and is used to getting what he wants when he wants.

Other Info: Vodnitvar has a limp. It is noticeable, but it doesn't seem to hinder him at all. He makes no attempt to hide it.


Prompt: You've seen your share of battles, and you can tell that trouble is coming to this pride. You're smart, and have figured out a lot of what's going on. You can sense the tension thickening every day. Your 'friends', the five you came with, seem mostly oblivious. Do you warn any of them? Do you pick a side and fight? Or do you just sit back and wait to watch the fireworks? You're not in your prime anymore, after all. Well? You may play others in your entry, but focus on Vodnitvar.

Personality: Luoji is calm, cool, and collected. He doesn't seem to care about anything one way or the other aside from the well-being of his sister. As small as she is, he is equal parts large. He doesn't seem to like any other males, but especially not Vodnitvar, who yells a lot and makes his sister cry. He isn't as good a hunter as Esmek, and he doesn't seem to care...too much.

Prompt: You have stumbled onto a meeting of rebels. Sendatu is there, as is her beast of a mate. They bring you into the fold, either assuming you are there to support them, or by threatening you if you don't. You're listening quietly as others talk, and Sendatu is staring at you. Finally she breaks the silence and asks if you think you can protect your sister. If the side you're going to choose will really be the best for her. She's seen her shivering, hating the cold. Wouldn't a change be better? She talks of taking the pride over and leading them to warmer lands. Do you think she's telling the truth? Do you have any feelings about what side you'll take at all? You may play Sendatu for this prompt, but focus on Luoji.

Prompt response:
Kanjo walked in from the frigid cold of the valley, her paws empty of prey. She had gone out to hunt to see if she had any skill in the trade but obviously she had none.
“What was I thinking, I’m no huntress. My brother has told me that from the beginning, I’m too small, slow and weak for the job. I had to try though didn’t I? I wanted to impress that male who complimented the pale blue female on her hunting, Radosny was his name.” She didn’t know that the lioness he complimented was his own daughter; she didn’t talk to many others and kept to herself or tended to the cubs.
Kanjo couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous when Radosny talked to the beautiful blue and white lioness, she wanted his attention but was to shy to really get to know him. Most lionesses overlook Radosny because he is a bit chubby but Kanjo thought he looked like he would be the perfect lion to cuddle up to in this cold wasteland. He looked like he would be able to protect her too; he was so much bigger then she was. Of course that’s not hard to do when she wasn’t even bigger than most adolescents.
“I’ll never get his attention now; all I’m good at is caring for cubs.” She said softly to herself as she kicked a small stone down one of the winding corridors in the tunnels. She hung her head low, eyes focused on the worn path of the tunnel, attempting not to make eye contact with anyone. As she walked Kanjo thought about how she didn’t want to be a huntress, she enjoyed playing with the cubs. With them life was simple and easy, drama to cubs was who got to cuddle the closest to Kanjo. She made her way through the tunnels toward the sleeping dens, knowing the poor cubs would need all the warmth her small body could offer them. Suddenly as she made a turn down one of the tunnels she ran into something soft, fluffy and very warm. Looking up she saw the smiling face of Radosny looking down at her with a grin.
“Well aren’t I the lucky lion to run into the pretty and shy Kanjo. How are you my dear?” He asked brightly. If her coat was any other color then her muted black he would have seen her blush.
“I uh… Im good. Cold as usual but good.” Kanjo stammered out as she looked at the big fluffy male that she so fancied. If he only knew what foolishness she had been up to just a few minutes ago trying to impress him.
“Were you outside? It’s very cold today, you’d think youd be cuddled up with those cubs of yours keeping toasty.” He commented, taking in the melting snow on her fur.
“Ah yes, I was out trying my luck at hunting. Felt a little restless I guess.” She told him, keeping the truth behind her failed hunting adventure secret.
“Foolishness I think. I like to stay in here where its warm for the most part, crafting. I feel bad for the hunters, I think you and I have the best jobs here in the pride. Don’t you?” Radosny asked the timid but cute lioness. “Plus your job is very important, you take care of the young ones. You make sure that they stay safe. Noble profession if you ask me.”
Taken aback by his thoughts on her position within the pride, she had always gotten the feeling that most pride members found her job lazy and not worth much. “Thanks Radosny, I think your job is important too. Plus you make everyone life so much better with your crafts. What is life without pleasure right?” she gave the handsome lion a rare smile.
“Yes, you are right. Pleasure is needed in such a rough life.” He replied, a knowing smile crossing his face. “Well my dear I must go collect some supplies for said pleasure.” He bowed to the pretty lioness before setting back off down the tunnel from where Kanjo came. As she walked back to the sleeping dens, there was a bit of a bounce in her step and a smile still lingering on her face.
“Maybe I am important after all.” She said softly to herself as she entered the cave, quickly her thoughts over run by the rambunctious cubs in her care.

I'd reeeally like the Meta to run all of July, but I'll be on a boat for about a week of it and I don't wanna miss handing out prompts! *thinks*
