Mawi Mai's last litter had grown, it happened so fast and she felt like it all happened in front of her eyes. Not only that but her grandchildren had grown. There were very few cubs still in the pride, all were off doing their own things, fully grown now and adventuring around the pride. The lack of cubs made it quiet there was no sounds of little paws around it was rare to have moments like this Mawi almost always felt as if there was going to be cubs around the pride. She was more then surprised that it was so quiet at the moment.
In an odd way Mawi welcomed the quiet though. She didn't have cubs to rain how to make drums and she had a little more free time because of that however she loved her job, but she needed some more time. Kitambi had been sick on and off lately and she left Mawi in charge of handling jobs here and there that Kitambi normally handled. She was busy , busy.
There was one time that Mawi almost always found the pride quiet, and not just because there were no cubs. In fact it was one of Mawi's favorite times and she rarely found anyone awake at this time but when she did she found that it was always good company and that was something to be happy about. The sun was rising and Mawi was heading toward the drum circle, a place where she could relax before everyone else was gathering in it. She placed her drum off to the side of her, pulling it off of her neck before flopping down on her haunches in the middle of the drum circle. She was enjoying the feeling of the wet air in her lungs and enjoying the sounds. She knew that there was so much she had to do and so much she had to see, but when the pride was sleeping she didn't have as much to worry about. She could clear her mind and relax.

It had been a long while since Muujiza's life had involved any kind of loudness. Of course, given her occupation and her home, there was still a good amount of noise to make and music to here, but family-wise, everything had been in peace for a long while.
Ronan had gone, and she didn't imagine she would be seeing that son again soon. She had always sensed that he was different, that perhaps the Nchi wasn't the right place for him, so she could only be happy when he had decided to strike out to find his own place in the world. The green lioness dearly hoped that he had, but she had faith in him, and that had to be enough.
That was seemingly the last time anything too dramatic had happened in Jiza's life, and she was glad to have been awarded such peace. She was getting older with each passing day, and some days, she thought that perhaps she wouldn't be able to take anything overly dramatic anymore. The prime of life had slowly slipped away from her, and she was prepared to wait out the rest of her days, however long they were, in relative quiet.
So it was that she found herself wandering somewhat aimlessly through the pride lands, taking in the trees and the drums that lay here and there, momentarily unguarded.

Mawi's familiar voice turned the green lioness' head, and a smile slid across her face at the sight of the other lioness. It always seemed a miracle to the lioness when she glanced about the pride and saw so many lions now grown that she could remember as children. Sometimes she wished, as she wished with her own children, that they could remain as those tiny little cubs, but she knew that the time had come for them to take over and lead their own lives. And she was more than happy to hand over the reins. From what she had seen, they were all of them doing a fine job on their own.
"Mawi, my dear," she said with a small shake of her head. "Company is always a welcome thing when you're my age." Her long years with the Nchi had changed her somewhat, much for the better. She had learned to prefer the company of lions over leaves, which was more than could have been said for her when she had been Mawi's age. The green lioness still quite enjoyed the song of leaves and the way they swayed in the wind, but they weren't quite enough for her anymore, and it was now rare for the lioness to abandon a conversation in favor of them.
"How are the little ones? Though, I imagine, they're not so little anymore." She said with a chuckle. Jiza knew what that was like.
