The Kitwana'antara have never been large or dominating. They are located in a quiet valley with hills and more mountainous terrain to the east, and a larger lake to the west. They tend to be isolated and their numbers small due to a plague that keeps their lion count rather small.

The plague is contagious only to lions and lion-hybrids. For lions who contract the disease it is always fatal, though some can fight it off or keep it at bay for many, many years. There are a small few who will become carriers of the disease, safe from its torment but a danger to other lions; and an even smaller few that are naturally immune.

(OOC NOTE: Just because the lions are often stuck in the pride, this does not mean you cannot have border RP with rogues and whatnot. There has been some confusion about this matter so I'm trying to clear this up. The disease is spread through blood and saliva only. Lions can essentially still breed without spreading the infection, so long as they don't groom one another or share kills. Border RP with rogues is certainly encouraged!)

Because of this, the Kitwana'antara frequently rely on leopards, cheetahs, hyena's and any outsider help they can find. Familiars and non-lion species are welcome members to the pride - they are often nurses, hunters, nannies and protectors for those too sick. Furthermore, there is often a ban on lion-members leaving the borders. . . . Their disease is far too risky and to spread it would be horrible. To cause others to suffer from such an illness is not something the pride would ever do and as such only on rare occasion are lions allowed to leave the borders.

Currently the pride has just gotten over a slew of hard times. A secondary plague hit all pride members, cuttng their numbers down significantly. On top of that, a war with a neighboring pride cut their numbers further, causing much distress and chaos in the lands. The old queen sacrificed herself in hopes of healing the God of Plagues wrath against her kind. This left her very young successor, Nawiri'chiwa to begin anew and lead the Kitwana'antara to renewed prosperity.

Anyone can try for the father and daughter, but a partner/co-writer is going to be needed!

This is a personality contest for a special father and daughter duo! These two are completely blank slates. Their history, their relationship with one another, their personality, and their future within the Kitwana'antara are all at the will and whim of you and a partner!

1. They can be original members of the Kitwana'antara or be newly joined!

2. They can have any common rank in the pride, so long as it's not royalty or a 'Master' title.

3. This requires a partner to be eligible.

This boy is for pridal newbies ONLY. So if you have a K'A member already, you'll have to let someone else try this time around.

But for those of you who have no one in the Kitwana'antara, this gorgeous little fellow is a complete blank slate! His history, his future, and his personality is completely up to you to decide!

Personality:
Born blind, and left alone in the lands along the edge of the K'A, Kuona had to fend for himself from a very young age. Careful, and usually very guarded, he talks to few, and very seldom will he bother speaking to another lion, or non-lion. Though he values the pridemates he has, he sees no reason to be social, since he doesn't really know who he can trust. With the carrying of the disease comes a weakness to him, that Kuona's not ready to admit he has, keeping a strong face on for the lions he helps.
What has his life been like within the pride up until now?:
Brought into the K'A when he accidentally ate a piece of diseased kill that had wandered his way, his life has been relatively peaceful. Applying himself to learning the ways of the apothecary, he generally is seen as the studious cub , and has been watched over by another Apothecary. It also doesn't help that the young male seems to be blind, so things are odd for him. Treated with mild caution by many of the others, he's learned quickly that the best pawsteps he can tread in...are his own.
Was he born in to the pride or was he a foundling and adopted in?
Foundling.
What are some of his dreams and goals?
To become an Apothecary to help others, and to learn as much as he can....so that he'll never be alone again.

Personality of the Father: 
Ata wants nothing more than for his daughter to grow up happy and healthy, and it’s this that defines his personality more than anything else. He worries over Aona, to the point where he might come off as a bit of a paranoid father – and in fact, though he is thankful to the other members of the pride for taking him and his daughter in, he is a bit reserved and leery, except when he is telling stories about his long life alone in the rogue lands – for that is where the Ata of old shines through, from when his mate was alive. The Ata of then was cheerful, jovial and optimistic, but a hard life has worn that down, leaving him with only his caution and his concern – except during his stories. During this time, it is almost like he is his old self again, for he’s reliving the escapades of his youth and in some part finding it within himself again. Because of this, he would tell stories all day long if he could. 
Personality of the Daughter: 
Aona is the sort of cub to worry more about herself than others.  She's proud to say that she will do what it takes to ease the suffering of her pride memebers, and when she discovered she was immune, the cub resolved she was going to try to save those she can.  Her heart is large, a heart of gold, and her will is strong.  She will never give up, once something's in her head, and her primary concern will always be both herself, and her father.  Family rules for Aona....Always. She refuses to believe that there's no way to save someone, and will push and shove until she thinks she can go no further. Death haunts her, and weighs heavy on her heart...but some day, she swears she'll save her dad.

If Newly Joined, Why Did They Choose the Kitwana'antara?
They didn’t actually choose the Kitwana’Antara – their joining was out of necessity rather than preference, as Atafutaye had been severely injured near the pride’s borders. Unfortunately, he fell ill quickly after being brought into the lands, so they didn’t have much of a choice in making the pride their home. Aona, at least, appears to be untouched by the disease, which is a small comfort to the father that blames himself for dragging her into such tainted lands. The fact that there are other lions around that can protect and look after Aona, while it doesn’t make up for the problems that the pride is stricken with, at least makes is a safe place for the young female to grow up, and a place where Atafutaye can rest peacefully.
What happened to the mother (and other litter mates, if there were more cubs)? 
    The mother died of an illlness while they were living in the rogue lands. There were no other littermates, and so father and daughter were left on their own.
What is the Father's history and life been like? 
Atafutaye grew up in the rogue lands, the only surviving cub of his mother’s last litter. He never knew his father, and wandered with his mother until he reached adolescence – at that point in time, his aged mother finally lost her grip on life and died in her sleep. He fully expected to be alone for the rest of his life, but it was only about a season or so after his mother’s death that he met his future mate. She was a lovely lioness, if a bit of a tease and a flirt, and it was love at first sight for the barely-adult lion. The courtship was brief, but heartfelt, and Atafutaye’s mate gave birth to their small daughter. The family was a close-knit one, at least until Atafutaye’s mate fell ill and died. Concerned about what might happen to his only cub if something were to happen to him, Atafutaye decided to seek a new home with his daughter in tow.

The Kitwana’Antara was not their original destination, and in fact they might not have joined it at all if Atafutaye had not gotten into a fight with another, slightly older lion in order to protect his daughter from the hostile male. He was badly wounded, and while his injuries were not deadly, they were fairly severe – and it just so happens that the pride lands closest to them were those of the Kitwana’Antara. Unfortunately, Atafutaye was stricken with the disease fairly quickly, though it remains in the most mild of stages for him. His only relief is that his daughter appears unaffected, because she is the world to him and a reminder or the mate he lost. 
How does the Daughter view her life in a diseased pride? 
Though she worries about the cubs and the people in her Pride, Aona is happy to serve the K'A. Proud that they found the Pride, and that she's able to protect her Father, and maybe ease the suffering of those around her. Living in the Rogue lands, she began to learn things about herbs and their ilk, and by the time they reached the K'A, and she found out that she, herself was immune, Aona decided something. She was going to try to save her father....or at least keep him alive as long as she can.
What is the relationship between Father & Daughter like? 
    Ata is insanly protective of his daughter and loves her more than life itself. This doesn't always translate to getting along, because he can worry about the most ridiculous things when it comes to her safety. He adores her and tries to keep her close to him, both physically and emotionally. Aona, on the other hand, is very much the sort to keep her father safe. She refuses to believe he's dying, and spends much of her free time hovering over the male. Though he is overprotective, she holds it as his wishes, and will do....almost anything the male asks of her...
