Why am I making this Role Play?
I've wondered around looking for a nice role play topic to join, unfortunately I found none. But that is where this topic comes in! I plan to create a hopefully long lasting, organized, free-roam, zombie role play. (HOTD inspired me to do this...although im still angry at the Anime....)
Of course I have a lot of precautionary measures to take before this role play is open, but you can follow along with its progress. ^^

Lets Start with the filler, That good background story everyone likes to see. The first thing most people will read with anticipation, that long paragraph that will draw the potential writers into the immense world of literature! Without further adu I generously bring you... the Intro~

BackGround Info!
For years, Scientist have been searching for the answer as to how to replace millions of soldiers on the battlefield. Many attempts have been done, but a recent discovery performed by Doctor Solanto seems to have the most progress. His Idea consist of gradually performing a controlled mutation on a human body.
From this we can create somewhat, supernatural fighters. However these experiments seemed to have failed, and the government attempted to hide these mutations from the world by locking them in an underground prison.
The confinement of the experiments were successfully isolated for approximately a year, until they abnormally adapted to their captivity and evolved to break down the strong barricades. The experiments violently destroyed the prison, and the military is called to retreat and abandon the area all together.
Following orders Specialized military soldiers escape on escort vehicles to safety away from the city. It is 10:30 AM when the experiments step onto streets and attack civilians. It is not long until news reports send out a evacuation warning. After 5 minutes of the outbreak many casualties are reported! Panic rises, and crowds of people rush hopelessly in attempts to survive...

Introduction!
"The Military lives to serve you!" says a happily paid actor in a 20 second recording. Those words were a popular catchphrase used in commercials to draw in attention of new recruits. But this very moment, all those words of the military living to protect us, Is just a lie.
You look up to spot an armada of aerial aircraft including jets, helicopters, and air cruisers soar across the sky scrambling in a attempt for an evacuation. Chaos breaks out throughout the city, people rush in panic. Police break out and assign specific routes for civilians to take. But its all unorganized confusion.
Many people make many choices. Some military organizations stay loyal, and remain in the city fighting off zombies. Some police ditch orders and save their own lives selfishly. Many people travel in groups, only attracting and expanding the numbers of these...things.
3 hours after the outbreak, 65% of life on the city has been killed, infected or just missing. The minimal thousand of survivors seem to be scattered throughout the immense city. The empty barren streets are now crawling with lifeless bodies just searching for something to eat to nourish themselves.
To become a legend, you must survive the trials life puts before you. If thats the case, you among the many thousands have survived up to this point. From this point you have a story, a triumph. So the question is...Will you live to tell the tale? Will you claim your legacy? Will you survive?...

8- Story Advertisement (im gunna make my own writing for this roleplay, just to be an example about how I want the roleplay to go.)

Let me explain the purpose of all of these different post/threads.
1. Here will be a list of all the characters enrolled in this forum, Characters that are accessed mainly by one person. (Other characters who can be controlled by others will be in the database, because they are not unique characters with a specific controller.) This thread will have a character skeleton, and allow others to pm me their profiles and await approval. I shall comment incase of any confusion, or any potential moments for your character to be connected with something else.
(For example: If your character was a soldier who wanted to protect the people, I can make him a squad commander of many minor character soldiers, And have him play a roll in the plot,. but calling his soldiers to remain on the city. This way your character has interaction with the setting, and people even if they are minor).
2. The database will mostly include characters I have created. Most likely I will create alot of characters, So many people can feel free to claim them and roleplay with them. These characters are usually outside of the situation. For example, Dr. Solanto will never enter the city limits. So these characters in the database are usually confrontating outside of the
zone. Other characters will be police, who play a big role inside the city, as they still have communications devices and attempt to level down the mutated.
3. The introduction will be on the roleplaying main page, all who are interested will read and gain an understanding on how the city started out in general. This prevents confusion with environmental interactions between characters.
4. The Background info will explain in terms of prologue. The Background information will discuss characters who created the mutated, situations that led to the confinement underground base, the communications between military and commanders in ordering a full scale retreat while leaving behind innocent civilians. Stuff like that.
5. Here the rules shall be written. It is essential for people to read this in order to create a smooth storyline. (my fear is confusion between non roleplayed characters jobs when they interact with roleplayers.) I dont want something like cops tagging along with survivors, because thats against their mind set at the moment. In this thread will also be a court system to justify someones actions, and redeem themselves. Here decisions will be made such as banning, killing (the character!) or other penalties. Also a ranking will be formed here. (if this rp becomes something big then I need help with command, I need people to control things and help do what I cant do 24/7).
6. If this rp gets serious or anything, we need some comic relief or something. Here you can talk about anything, from the rp, to made up scenes with characters, whatever. In the out of character forum you may ask eachother questions for potential upcoming future events to allow smooth plot advancement. For example you guys can plan a betrayal ahead of time here, with the approval of other people. If your gunna write a story with people, you might as well cooperate with them to create a good story that your character will go through.
7. The News Feed Will give you a status update on what main groups are doing. As the story progresses you will run across many people from the database that are not constantly roleplaying, so its easy to lose track of their whereabouts and what they are currently doing. This news feed speaks for everyone, so you can understand if walking down the street requires a stealth approach, or you can just walk out randomely without being spotted.
8. Ive written small dialogues to introduce minor characters and try to explain the situations of military, scientist, police, and civilians. I will also later on write my own story, Just so I can have my own perspective of "Urban Survival".
9. Ideas Dump- This is an area where people can throw in suggestions, and everything. This is also an area where I will give you guys ideas of what can go on throughout the roleplay. For example I might write about an improvised weapon a person can create if he had the right tools. I can also suggest items you can find in buildings and such. Because sometimes you hit writers block, or just need something to change up the story, So the ideas dump is where you can pimp out your character with plot ideas to help him advance as a character.
10. the command center is where the upper ranks while negotiate, and talk. They will monitor and just make sure things are somewhat organized. The forum needs a balance, Not too much control, but not too much freedom. I dont want people writing about how unicorns saved us from the zombie apocalypse.
11. The directory to navigate you through all the external links. This will be a single post with linked pages of words to transport one to his desired location.

My goals.
In the end, I want characters who are placed into a fight for survival. I want characters who make their own moves in their attempt to live. Characters who join groups, characters who betray, those who steal, those who just kill zombies to shed blood. I want variety, and interaction between the sensible and the insane. Choices that must be made, and more importantly to see the journey of the characters, how far and close they get to freedom. If they actually do manage to survive.

Plans: If this roleplay gets far, I will probably start drawing fan based art on it, with special characters interacting. I might draw items weapons and vehicles, zombies to give it more uniqueness.
