The time has arrived! With the drought raging and arguments doing little to offer a solution, the council has been called together to decide what is to be done regarding the remaining water in the pride. While the choice is inevitably up to the council, this is an issue that effects the entire pride. The floor is open, and it's time for the pride to voice its opinion!
That's right. You are dictating where this plot goes from here!
Quote: The Regent, Kidondo, looked calm as always, but his eyes, for once, looked tired. There was a shadow that lingered inside of them that had never been there before. A shadow that indicated this situation was perhaps one of the most dire things the Firekin had faced since the plague before Kidondo's birth. Which, of course, meant that this was the most dire situation he - and most of the lions here - had faced.
This was no enemy you could grab by the throat. This was a killer that couldn't be confronted.
His tail twitched with agitation; until it was pinned to the sand by a small paw.
Su, a daughter of the Regents, had been allowed to sit with her parents to listen to the opinions of the pride on the matter of the drought to aid in her apprenticeship. But only if she stayed quiet and only if she behaved. She'd been more than excited at the prospect of being part of the 'audience' but she was young and impatient and she wriggled with anticipation of what was to come.
Her father's paw swung around and gave her a little shove and that was enough to see her begrudgingly settling next to him, lifting her head high.
Oh, and it looked like someone was coming.
--
Settled beside the regent was No, her paws delicately crossed and her face as stoic as ever. It was the kind of rigidity that No was famous for... but the casual observer might have noticed the underlying pull of agitation. No had always been the practical sort, and she did that well. She envisioned the worst case scenario, so she was never caught by surprise. Naturally, the water crisis was a worst case scenario in her mind. In that sense, the black cat had already decided on her vote.
But, No was also a democratic sort. She trusted in the pride's judgement, and her mate's level head. This wasn't exactly a scenario she wanted to be right about. She was a mother too, after all. On that notion, she looked towards Su, who was sitting so proudly between her parents. Down below, some of her other children were watching the presentations. Another still, getting ready to speak.
The black cat's ears flattened. It was going to be a impassioned evening, that was for certain.

What are your options?
There are currently three ways for your character to vote. They are the following:
A. Vote for Priority: A vote for prioritizing water means water will go to those who the pride deems essential. It does not mean that water will be completely cut off from your lion, but it means they will be getting significantly less. Cubs perhaps least of all.
There will be no forced deaths from this decision, but it will effect the morale and cohesion of the pride. Lower ranked lions will weaken.
B. Vote for Equality: A vote for equality means that all water will be shared equally. This means the water will dry up faster, and all ranks will feel the impact of water rationing.
There will be no forced deaths from this decision, but it will effect pride security and weaken defenses.
C. Nonvote: A nonvote is anyone who sides exclusively with the council. This is a vote for characters who enjoy letting others make their choices for them, you big big babies you.

Where does the plot go from here?
We have two alternate scenarios depending on how the pride votes. This will not be the only time the pride will be called together to vote, but it may be one of the most important!
What about alternatives? [IE: Splitting the pride up, sacrificing Ea to the rain god, ect]
Your character may bring up any of their ideas during this meeting. However, this decision is only to decide what will be done with the remaining water. Depending on how the council votes, we may be discussing alternate means of water conservation in the future.
My lion will be super mad if the pride rules to ____1111!111
You probably won't be the only character! If the pride rules against your favor, roll with it. We won't be killing anyone.
I haven't RPed in the plot. Can I still vote?
Yes, absolutely. You need to type up a small rp post, but this thread is open to everyone officially in the pride. Quote: Rules and OOC Information
- We will be ruling by majority. That means whatever side receives the most votes, will be the side that dictates how the plot will continue.
- Both sides of the plot have pros and cons. There is no 'right' way to vote.
- Only adults and adolescents may put in a counted vote. However parents may speak on behalf of their cubs, and some well behaved apprentices may be allowed to address the crowd.
- You get as many votes as you have adolescent-adult lions.
- Posting in this thread does count towards your ticket count here. [>Link<]
- You may not change your vote, as your lion gets only one chance to speak in front of the regents and council.
- And lastly: if you are looking to increase the rank of your SOA, you MUST post in this thread at least once.
- Have fun! heart

RP Samples:Priority It was Azar'bijan and Heti who were among some of the first to step up and give their point of view on what should be done about the water situation. No doubt that Azar was looking forward to speaking up, striding up to the Regents with all the strength and posture of a king; his head held high. Heti did not approach with the demenour of someone who was confident and kingly. As big as his father with an almost identical, stocky build, he lagged behind by a step, his head slightly lowered.
If he was going to be honest with himself, Heti did not believe in prioritising water. Unfortunately, his father had made it clear that sometimes equality just did not work. Either some got water and some survived. Or they shared water and all died.
But whilst Heti very much resembled his father, he had a different mind and one that didn't particularly agree with the decision his father had bullied him into. It shamed him that he was about to stand by his father instead of his own beliefs. After all, he was an adult now and a Guard, too. But...upsetting his father would make for a difficult life. Very difficult.
He huffed quietly, knowing already that he was being a coward for not standing up for what he believed in.
Even still, right or wrong, Heti had to admit that his father was right about one thing. Either decision put Firekin at risk.
There seemed to be no perfect path to take. And in the end...did it even matter?
As they reached the Regents, Heti drew up alongside his father and found the strength to at least look determined. But, even as he prepared to agree with his father's statement, he felt the guilt niggle at him. Guards protected all. They protected the pride. Were they really going to vote to protect themselves and the soldiers?
"I'm not going to try and pretty this up." Azar'bijan was saying. "There is not enough water for everyone. Try to save the whole pride and...you'll save no one. This place will be nothing but a graveyard. We need to prioritise the water to those that matter."
At the last moment he felt himself lose determination and not even a sharp gaze from his father didn't bolster his courage. Even still, he did eventually step forward and lift his eyes to look the Regents in the eye. "It's...hard for me to say it..." Really hard. "But...my father is right. We need to prioritise, but to also bear in mind that there are other important lions here. Lions that are not of the military who provide essential functions."
Azar shot his son a warning look and Heti set his jaw, giving Kidondo and No a sharp nod before moving away, his father at his side. Equality Directly on Heti and Azar's heels was Ea. She looked furious. Even more furious than she had been weeks earlier, and no doubt it had partly to do with her desire to have been first. The fact that Heti was siding with his father also had something to do with it. He'd always seemed a rational sort- and now even he was talking this insanity? It made a growl rattled in her chest. As she passed them she made sure to shoot a dirty glare in the guards' direction.
As Ea took to the center of the council, No leaned forward. "I'd caution you to be productive, Ea." Mindlessly shouting and temper tantruming wasn't going to progress this meeting further. And Ea had a habit of bringing out the wildness in others.
To the medic's credit, she hardly gave her mother's warning a second glance. She gave a quick, angry account of all the lions gathered, and began to speak: "We don't have enough water. This is true. I'm not a liar, and I'm not an idealist as some of you seem to think." Her wild eyes searched for Armada, but they did not find her.
"But this cannot be allowed to happen. If we don't share the water equally, we won't just lose the 'weaker pride members.' We'll lose everything that we've tried to do here!" She growled. "I thought our strength was in being warriors. Our strength was in the harshness of our environment, and our history. And now we're out of water, and we're just going to cut out a third of the pride? We're going to cut out our future of the pride?"
"Warriors don't run from battle," she bristled. "Sure, they might make sacrifices. They might send in troops they don't expect to survive into a conflict. But those lions choose to fight. They choose to die to ensure victory. To separate the pride's water is to take away that choice. We aren't asking them to to make a sacrifice for the good of the pride. We're telling them to."
She narrowed her eyes. "Only a coward would choose to drink while a cub goes without. Better we all hang on as long as we can and lose who we will than to completely abandon any semblance of honor. Because that's what we'll be if you choose to go through with this. Nothing good ever comes from letting the weak bolster the strong."
Ea turned. "And I thought that was what we fought to stop." Non-Vote And adding to Ea's words of wisdom, Vesta shyly shuffled forwards to address the Regents, taking a moment to bow her head and pay her respects to her leaders. She was not the most outspoken or fiery of Firekin within the lands, which is partly why she'd chosen to come early and avoid any possible crowds and angry ranting.
Besides...her words, in the end, would not add much to the argument in any case.
"I cannot call myself knowledgeable." She spoke quietly. "And I see the arguments for both. There isn't a perfect solution but...I suppose what I'm trying to say is that...I will accept whatever is agreed upon."
She had chosen not to vote but for Vesta, that was the only vote there could ever be.

Mpeko moved through the crowd of gathered pride members, the normally cheery, kind, friendly lioness unusually calm, reserved, even a bit heart-broken by her recent departure of her half-sister. Still, she had to be strong-- stronger than perhaps she'd ever been. She knew so fer lions and yet she loved all deeply. Perhaps why she'd tried to avoid deulling. When the call to speak came there were few who knew she would be there or speak. She rarely went to the watering holes, rarely anywhere, but the Tracker was kind, that, one saw in her eyes and she sat. "I, Mpeko, vote for Equality. We are strong and to punish the weakest simply for life given by the divine-- we can't do that. It would be a temporary solution with a future problem. For what of oujr children?" The young female was mateless, childless... Anyone who saw her these days, saw her alone. Vulnerable. "The cubs are our future and how can we as a pride suirvive if we are not equal in our water intake? So we need more soon. We can take it can't we? We have soldiers for a reason!@ We are reknown for a reason, but unless we care for ourselves we cannoy even hope to survive. Equal water rights... That's our only chance. Please, we have to... We have to think of all of us equally...." The female began sobbing as she begged, a stray paw forcing her back into the crowd before she was silenced. Mpeko closed her eyes. The drought made others fearful. All she could do was pray.

Zii'moto was not moving around much these days; not since her life changing injury. Her hips were very difficult for her to move now, she limped atrociously everywhere she went, and when she did go she did not go far. But this was a time for her to get up and to support her choices.
She limped with her daughter Uteketezo'nuru at her side, offering support. Ute leaned against her mother during moments of weakness or pain; as her mother was not fully healed. No doubt the healers would give her a good scolding, but her mother wanted to be there. To voice her choice.
As the crowd gathered and people started to voice themselves, Zii'moto; with her head leaning against her daughters white shoulder; spoke. "I vote for equality. We all need water equally. I will not see those lesser go without... I would rather die myself than make others suffer to wet my tongue!"
Ute, after her mother had voiced her choice, also raised her voice. "I also vote for shared portions. I am not so greedy to have to drink more than another. She cast an eye upon a few who had voted to ration out the supply. And if need be I also will limit my amount as to allow more for others."

Quidel, one of Kenna's sons, and a lion that did little to standout, save for his known hoarding of skulls, was shaken by the events as of late. However, he had a quick, analytical mind that had long weighed the pros and cons of both decisions. He had no mate or children to care for. he cared for his mother, father, and siblings, but there was no one truly dear to his heart, so he really only had himself to think about. And he knew, even with the decision he had made, that he was not included in the 'priority' list. Still...
"I, Quidel, simple soldier though I am, vote for priority. I-"
--
Quidel was then but off by Khin'del.
"Indeed, I agree with him. Although, if I may also plea on the young one's behalves, that they be made as much a priority as our...most important members? The strongest, those of special importance and the cubs come first. We soldiers, and the hunters, huntresses, and the like...the injured and the weak, and sick...we need water no more than they. Nor no less, but...I would rather our strongest and brightest, and our hopes for the future survive if...things get any worse..."
Khin'del could only think of his children, and had labored over the decision. Finally he had decided upon priority, but thought he would make a plea on their behalf anyway, even though he didn't think it would do any good. Celosia, Umbia, Pe'pea, Nur'yu, Jyoti, Daigre, Kakek, Miale, Hoda.... All of his much beloved children... Even with the decision to let the strong take priority, and denial of his proposition he would give what he could to them at his own loss.
Khindel had discussed such decisions with his mate not but a night ago. Of course, he didn't know that, despite their chat, the two had really settled on two different courses of action. Each thought that the other was in agreement. Oh sweet irony! Well, that would be something they would have to deal with after this voting.
Although it didn't matter - Khindel would not see his children go thirsty. He would sooner die than allow that. It was a morbid line of thought, but even dead he might be able to provide. His body, the blood that flowed in his veins, if it could stave off any desperate thirst... Hopefully it would not come to that, but the caring father was ready to make that sacrifice if he absolutely, positively, had to.
--
Huozinthen piped up, sauntering over to the impassioned father, and Quidel. He was perhaps the most laid back bump on a log in the whole pride.
"Hey, man, I agree about th' kiddos, so why you tossin' your vote thataway? Dude, I am all for equality. Not just to wet my own whistle, but man, those kids be needin'."
Quidel couldn't help but cast the younger male an ire-ful glower. The goo-for-nothing should be the last to drink either way.
--
Hratchouhi.....She was tired, and felt utterly horrible. She had put her job as huntress on hold in order to aid in the search for water. And as a stand-in water-seeker, she felt like a failure to the pride. Curled up out of the way, face hidden, she mumbled;
"I'll do whatever the pride decides."
Her tender little heart was bleeding.
---
Khindel found it hard to stay composed with Hratchouhi and Huozin. The one lion didn't even deserve to call himself a Firekin. he was a lazy waste. He'd open Kuozin's body FIRST if death was what it took to sustain his family. Hratchouhi was no better. Weak, pathetic, going a long with whatever the majority decided.... As a Firekin, Khindel felt, one must have a definite decision and the will to back it the ******** up. Of course that was quite the opinion coming from someone who was not of Firekin blood himself.... But he felt he fit the bill more than THEY did! His blood raged red hot.
Perhaps pride and thirst were getting to him and inflating his ego and shutting off proper brain function…this was not normal Khindel. But he was a very, very, very, very, very, tremendously worried father. Worry and the need to protect his cubs would drive anyone, father, mother, grandparent, to near hysteria! Hysteria was about what it was, too. Or craziness - contemplating, almost entertaining the thought of killing fellow pride members just to see that his children lived… What was he becoming? Was this what one called a monster? Was he becoming a monster? He was a victim of circumstance, though. He couldn’t help that the water was gone and what it was doing to his family, pride, children, his very state of mind…
All of this was getting far beyond him. It was out of his paws, but he couldn’t see that right them. Hif frame of mind was foggy, and getting blurrier.
Khindel didn’t know that it would only get worse, however. He didn’t know that he’d later be dealing with the loss of a son and the thirst for vengance on top of all of this… Anger, hate, pain, sadness…. He was to be tested, truly. It was going to hurt, these trials that lay ahead. Would he be able to come out of them whole? Would he ever be the same?

Azar, wasn't going to sit back at all in this kind of situation. Azar was not the quiet time and although at times she liked to blend in with everyone else in moments like this she was not going to be quiet. There was no way in the world. Azar wasn't that kind. She was strong and she knew what she wanted at all times. She watched the first few lions go up and she bit her lip. She wanted to speak now but she knew had had to wait for the others to finish. She watched as Heti and the other Azar walk up. She couldn't believe it. A sneer was plastered across her face as she watched them she didn't want to know that that was how the voting was going already, that made her very upset. She wasn't liking the votes so far.
However when her sister walked up she relaxed a little. She had a feeling what her sister's vote would be and the fact that it was something that she enjoyed made her happy. She flicked her tail around and relaxed a little. She had a feeling there wasn't many others that would vote like the boys. Or at least thats what she was hoping for anyway. She smiled as she listened to her sister talk. She could see that her sister was angry but yet that wasn't surprising to see one of the twins angry. It was something that she had been used to for a really long time, she had seen it a lot while she was growing up. However right now she felt it was the most justified that she had ever seen it in her life. She flicked her tail around her in an annoyed fashion. Her time to speak couldn't get here fast enough. She paused as she looked at Vesta as she was talking. She really didn't like Vesta's choice she felt like there could have been a better vote from her. But at the same time Azar didn't mind. She watched another walk up and she was glad ot see that it was another vote int he direction that she wanted it to be.
And at last it was her time. She moved quickly to where she was supposed to go, walked straight up to her parents and nodded to both of them. She took a moment as she looked at them and then started to talk. "Our future is nothing without all parts of the pride. We do need our soldiers and guards. Every pride does. However that isn't all of our strengths. I've seen many great lions in this pride who never really raised a paw in violence. Where would our working soldiers be if the nannies weren't around to watch their cubs while they were out battling the same with the guards. Then what would happen?" She shook her head and then looked at her parents and motioned her paw to the others around her and then to Su. "A pride cannot work in pieces, it has to work together as a whole, if we only give water to the 'stronger' members, what kind of pride are we?" She shook her head once again. "I vote for equality." She said as she looked at the others, mostly toward the other Azar and Heti, before turning back toward her parents. "What kind of pride would we be to kill the core parts of our pride. We cannot run without nannies. We would be dumb with out our historians." She laughed at the idea, it was pretty true, if a pride didn't know their history how could they learn. "Everyone needs water and it's only fair if everyone gets it."
With that she nodded to her parents once more and then moved to her father's side, near Ea. she wasn't going to leave, she wanted to know what was going to happen next. She wasn't going to sit back and let other things happen.

((I am so dropping my usual RP colors for this, to make it easier xd ; )) With the slow stride of age, Bodaway stepped out amid the lions, raising his tired eyes to Kidondo. "Before I speak my choice, though it may be obvious, I will say that I may not see the end of the drought with the rest of you, and especially you, Kidondo, son of Kimeti, grandson of Kiu, great-grandson of Makadari, our last king before the plague... You have led us well thus far, and I trust you will continue to lead the pride well, and should the day come you may not, someone as wise beyond their years as you are takes up the mantle." He then bowed his head, his mane, nearly fully gray and white from age, covering his face as he thought hard. Finally, he lifted his head again. " I believe that, though it will be the expense of the youth of the pride, priority should go to the soldiers, the guards, those who protect our borders." He flicked an ear, suddenly feeling more tired. "I have spoke my mind, and now I bow to you." With a bow, he backed away, vanishing back into the sea of lions, a once-proud figure changed by age. Next from the crowd came Kosuke and Shula, the pair... Somewhat united. Kosuke glanced at his mate for a moment, as they whispered to each other, then looked up to Kidondo. "I'm going to make this short, but we've talked long about it, and both believe that the pride should move eastward, to find water. It could be the only way we'll survive... Unless we wish to become as scarce in numbers as the pride was before my parents were born and before you were a twinkle in your parents' eyes. If not..." He took a breath, closing his eyes. "It pains me to say, but Shula and I may take our cubs, and seek refuge until the drought ends." He felt a nudge, and looked to see his beloved's unusually hard look. With a huff, the lioness grabbed the male's ear, dragging him away. Shula soon returned. "To put it a bit... Simpler... We vote for equality by relocation." Kosuke then reached out of between two lions, and pulled Shula away. Savitri, ever the glaring opposite of her aunt in coat, decided to approach from another side, adopted cub in close tow. "Uncle Kidondo... Aunt No... My heart is torn on which way to vote. I cannot vote on anything in good conscience. I hope you understand." She bowed her head, showing respect for her relatives, before ushering Rashmi off. With his own nervous paw steps, a new face amid the many stepped forward. When he found himself in full view, Singh looked back and forth for a moment, then turned to the regents, puffing a bit. "I'm very... What's the word...? Appreciative, that you have allowed me into your pride. But after hearing the sides... I believe priority should go to the young and infirm.. If the guards and soldiers become infirm, may they bask in the perk in life, but not purposely injure themselves... But how a pride treats its infirm says a lot about how strong they are on the inside, and the medics are doing the best they can with what they have. That is very admirable, and they and their charges deserve priority with the cubs, the future of the pride." He then remembered something, to be... Meek... And bowed his head, backing away. "Thank you for this opportunity to speak up."

Morag watched the other lions of the pride step forward and speak, her own family among them, and vote according to their views. A frown teased over her face as she thought hard about her own decision. She could see the reasoning behind each side, which was why it was so hard to choose... But it didn't take long for her choice to become clear, at which point she threw herself into it, committing completely. " I vote for priority." She said as she lifted her head, narrowing her red eyes. "Each member we loose is one too many, but those who are strong must remain strong if they are to find new water for us, and the water we have must last us as long as possible. However, I will willingly cut my ration so that the cubs, at least, might have that little bit more." Her mind settled, she retreated to the outskirts of the gathering to wait and to watch for the outcome.

Since his arrival in the lands, Nawvlee had been very interested in the goings-on around the pride, the drought had only increased the urgency with which he watched and planned. Still on his mind were the Nergui, the lions who had cost them the Hongshan their home and many lives. The firekin were weakening, it put them at greater risk. If the water was portioned evenly, the whole pride would be put at risk. To lose young would be a shame but he had little worry about the social ranks. It was very clear that to be safe the army needed the water more than the others.
He kept himself under control long enough to get a feel for how voting was going but eventually stepped up for his turn to speak. Like the others, he had no intention of simply giving his vote and stepping back, he would explain.
"If the whole pride is allowed to weaken to maintain equality then the whole pride is put at risk," he said with grave confidence, "There are more dangers out there than a lack of water and carelessness can cost you everything. The water must be prioritized if we are to guarantee the continued existence of the pride."
Nawvlee paused a moment before finally stepping back. An ambush was still on his mind and he thought to warn of how a pride with a reputation like the firekin needed their army to be strong to defend against those who might test that reputation.. but his vote would have been the same regardless of his perception of a threat from another pride. The weakest would still be first to go if the drought continued and the water given equally, this would give the strong a better chance.
Not to mention, of course, he knew when he would start looking too paranoid. It was best not to go on about the Nergui.
...
Chaka and Shisa had already discussed the situation at length and, in their opinions, had considered each of the options fully. Of course, Shisa had been a bigger part of thinking them through and helping her brother to overcome his purely selfish motivations. They had arrived at the council meeting, Chaka with Inina close behind, and listened silently until the opportunity arose for them to speak. Leaving the snake behind to watch, the siblings approached the council together.
Chaka paid little attention to the social aspects of living in a pride, he was dedicated to his job and the overall protection of the pride. However, his immediate instinct had been self-preservation and to prioritise the water to those who kept the pride safe and strong. And even discussions with Shisa had not changed his mind, though he had more reasonable justifications. Shisa was more pride-minded and while she had reservations about deciding one way or another, she refused to not vote decisively. While her conscience told her she ought to vote for equality, a sense of what would happen if the drought continued for a long period of time made her hesitate. Ultimately, Chaka's influence is what made her final decision. It was something that almost never happened.
"I vote to prioritize," Chaka said simply before looking to Shisa.
"I also vote to prioritize," Shisa added when she saw Chaka look to her from the corner of her eye, speaking with more emotion than her brother, "Without knowing when this drought will end, we believe it would be best to give those who have the best chance to survive priority."
With a shared nod, the pair returned to their place in the crowd with Inina to continue to observe.

Uruloke still felt a little out of place at these pridal gatherings. He knew he had a place in the pride and a right to express his opinion, particularly since the rulers had asked for the opinions of their people, but he was still a little unsure of himself. Could his opinion really be worth hearing amongst all these other warriors'? It was a little difficult to fathom.
It wasn't until his half-sister spoke up that Loke decided it would really be all right for him to add his voice to the others. He knew his opinion wouldn't be one his parents would be proud of. He was one of a litter of thirteen, himself, and he had many half-siblings. His parents were fertile, and not bad raisers of cubs in his opinion, but that was sort of a problem. The whole pride was very fertile and water was very scarce. He didn't doubt that it would be easy enough to restore the pride's numbers if the weak or infirm were ruled less important.
"I feel priority ought to be given to the strong and virile, those best able to defend the pride and add to its numbers," Loke said after Morag spoke. He sighed and stepped back into the crowd, his blue eyes seeking any of his many siblings.

Xipil was much like his mother in the practical sense, he was always trying to calculate his next move, the next move of his opponent and worst case scenarios. Though, unlike his mother, he had not envisioned a drought as the worst case scenario but once it had hit, he had understood completely. His decision on the matter of what to do with the remaining water supplies was a difficult matter for the red lion to come to.
He had thought about what each decision meant and while he knew that, unlike his friend Vesta, he could not sit by and simply ride on the decision made by the council, coming to his conclusion on what he would want done...that was something he struggled with.
He had weighed the options and while he wanted to vote for prioritizing he knew the best idea would be to share; they were a pride a group of soldiers and he had the belief of leaving no one behind. They were a warrior pride, they were known for their ability to survive hardships other prides wouldn't dream of.
"I vote for equality," he stated coolly his blue eyes focusing on the forms of his parents. "We are a whole and to prioritize could rupture everything. We are warriors, even those that do not hold the ranks of soldiers and no one should be left behind or considered 'lesser'," he paused to keep his tone steady. "At one point the water seekers were considered somewhat minor in importance and now, with the drought, they have climbed the ranks of importance. How is it that, outside of the council and a few other ranks, we truly determine importance?"
At this point his gaze flickered to Khin'del who pushed for the importance of cubs. "As he pointed out, it is the cubs that should come first if it comes to that but still, I push for equality because by weakening even those of lower ranks could devastate us. We must ration the water equally and when it comes to little to no water, we must persevere and survive. We are known for our ability to thrive in circumstances and terrains that many cannot, this is a circumstance where we must show we will not only survive but thrive."

Vlam knew better than to hang around for long. Being caught between two women was dangerous enough, but being caught between Ea and Armada? That was like asking to die slowly. But Vlam hadn't come to break up the two. He'd come to voice his opinion. In a matter of speaking, anyways.
The white lion, former soldier, was not a noble fellow. He'd always known that. As a young lion he'd wanted nothing more than to be the pride's strongarm, and push off the weak. And that lion still lingered in him. No amount of crippling accident could completely erase the person he'd been. He was a logical, military minded creature. He knew Armada was fundemantally right. He knew that the pride couldn't survive on Ea's plans of well wishes and honor. To think that it could was to be foolish.
But that didn't mean she was wrong. Vlam might not have believed in her plan, but he'd follow her anywhere. Either way the pride would suffer. At least this way they'd do it together. The big lion approached the council in stoic fashion, before humbly bowing his head. He had no words for the council, but he'd brought along some help.
"We're voting for equality," a small red cub said in the crowd. She poked her head out long enough for her to be seen, and the connection to be made. Kio blinked her large eyes, and paused. "Um...that's it I guess!"
Vlam nodded his head stoically, and returned to the crowd.

Behind the council hall, Adiel was still trying to catch her breath. She'd not heard the white lion speak yet, so she hoped it didn't mean it was her turn. She wasn't sure why she had gotten such a case of the nerves. Was it because of what had happened? She had thought with a new home in the Motoujamii, she wouldn't still feel... so afraid. Not even the words of their leader could bring back the iron into her veins. The Red Mountain tribe deserved a better witness than this shaking, nervous creature.
But before she knew it, it was her turn. Adiel hadn't realized the white fellow was mute. While she'd been waiting for some sort of speech to begin, she was already getting the direction to go and make her case. Her heart lurched in her chest, and she struggled to think straight. Think, think! She had to say something...!
Biting her lip, Adiel scurried forward, rushing the council members so fast they might have thought she was planning to run through them. As she spoke, her voice shook and she kept her eyes on her paws. But she spared a quick glance at Nawvlee, hoping to drain what strength she could from them. "I...I am honored to be given the opportunity to..."
She swallowed. "This pride knows war, but they do not know utter defeat. To weaken this pride would be a dire mistake. Do not make the same mistakes we did," she let out a breath she had been holding. "I vote to prioritize the water. It's the only thing that can be done."
